Eileen's dies are produced by Sizzix and Sizzix groups some of their dies into what they call Chapter1, Chapter 2, etc releases. There are 4 chapter every year with Chapter 1 referrring to the January release, Chapter 2, April release and so on. Back when I made this video it may have been Bookclub Chapter, or I may have been confused, 🙂!
I am hoping that you can tell me where to find videos about putting the signature booklets in---how do I use the string to attach them to the journal? I am so frustrated because I've tried doing it different ways, but nothing works well. I made signatures using the Passport die, but the holes don't line up with the holes in the actual wrap journal. I have no idea what to do, and can't find videos about how to string the journal. PLEASE HELPPPPPPPPP :)
Sorry I did not see this until today. I will get back to you in the next few days, after Christmas. I have some video tutorials I think that will show you what to do.
Here is a blog post which links to a video on how to make and assemble the passport journal. scraptravelbark.blogspot.com/2018/04/sun-kissed-passport-mini-album-tutorial.html The little pages that you can cut with the Passport die are specifically designed to use with the Passport Journal and not the Wrapped Journal. However, they are the sized to fit inside the Wrapped Journal as well but the holes will not line up, just ignore them or use the holes to bind your pages together and then slip them inside the elastic bands of your Wrapped Journal. I often just measure the distance between the holes on whatever journal I am creating, say the wrapped journal. The holes are 4 3/8" apart so I will cut a page 7" wide and 4 3/8" tall. Then I score the 7" side at 3 1/2" and fold in half. That makes a page that will fit inside the wrapped journal. I cut as many pages as I want in my signature and score each one, put them together like a booklet and staple. Of course you could stitch them together along the fold, I'm just lazy and use a stapler! If I have alot of pages in a signature or I'm using heavy paper, I will trim the inner pages just a tad so that the signature has a nice neat edge. Now all you need to do is slip the signature under the elastic band and you're good to go, hope that all makes sense. I have a lot of videos on my blog on how to make Eileen's various journals, you might find some help there. Hope this helps, if not ask again, I'm always happy to help!
Thank you so much, Maggi!! Don't you just LOVE this paper line? I just got it last week, and Eileen's die a few weeks ago. I'm so glad I found this particular video of yours, as I think this will be my first journal to make! You mention Eileen's book club? something like that, where you get the dies for the tags, etc. I'd like more information about that if possible...again, thanks for sharing your gorgeous works. I love your videos!
Thank you! Eileen has two releases of dies that she named Book Club I and Book Club II. It's not a Club, LOL! Book Club II included the above Wrap Journal. My blog post that goes with this video has a listing of all the dies I used in making this journal. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Good luck with your journal, I know it will turn out great!
Totally awesome mini album, from the design to that gorgeous paper. I kind of collect suns and moons so Ian gonna have to get some of that paper. Beautiful job!!
I've never tried oxides on leather, I think it might have an interesting effect. I suppose it might depend on how absorbent the leather is. LMK how it works out!
Maggi, love this journal! You did a great job! What type of material/cardstock did you use for your cover? I have this die and they recommend mat board but I can't get that through my Vagabond or Big Shot. Thanks so much.
Thanks so much Joyce! I use Sizzix mat board with my Vagabond and have no problems. I try to insert the sandwich with the mat board tending towards the end meaning that I feed the sandwich in with the end that has no mat board to give the Vagabond a chance to grab the sandwich before it gets to the thicker part with the mat board. Hope that makes sense.
Your work is amazing!
Thank you so much!!
What is the Bookclub2 Collection, plz?

Hi fellow Harding! Will that oxide ink work well on leather? Beautiful work!
I've never tried oxides on leather, I think it might have an interesting effect. I suppose it might depend on how absorbent the leather is. LMK how it works out!
what material did you cut this out of, and did you cover it first or after?
The journal is cut from mat board and then colored with Distress Oxide Inks. The papers you see were glued on after inking.

It does make sense and thanks so much Maggi for your quick response!
So beautiful! Thanks!
Thank you for your kind comment!
Thank you!
Is there a die for the journal booklets that you put inside or are those just cut out by measuring?
