Lay aside all hopes and expectations.... FOR NOW. there are many things that aren't revealed or explained until future trilogies. I see people criticizing the first trilogy for not explaining everything, so just... Follow the story. Be in the moment. Trust Hobb. She absolutely delivers.
I love watching people reading these books for the first time 🤣 oh the pain and beauty that will come haha i cant wait to see what you think of the rest ! 😁
I’m recovering from a knee surgery and have never read fantasy before and I chose this series 😂 im absolutely in love and then on the other side this happens. I started the royal assassin late one night when I couldn’t sleep and little did I know the traumatic event that awaited me in the first 3 chapters 💀💀
Lady Patience is my absolute favourite character in the entire Farseer trilogy. Which is saying something because I'm very picky with female characters. Verity is my second favourite. I felt the same about the very last paragraph about what Burrich said. Perfect last line in a book. Also, you think the beginning of the sequel is gut wrenching? Hold that thought until you read the Prologue and Chapters 1, 2 & beginning of 3 in Assassin's Quest.
"WHY?!" is probably the one thing I yelled more often than in any other book while reading this series lol. I agree that Kettricken just steals the show! And NIGHT EYESSS!! This vlog was well worth the wait, you delivered 🤩
@@the_fools_tale As he deserves!! Also, I forgot to mention this earlier, but I am very happy that I am not the only one who pronounces Outislanders in exactly that weird way 🤣🥲
People who have not read Hobb but are into fantasy make me wonder what rock they have hidden under. Hobb and Martin are the start of modern fantasy, it’s no surprise they recommend each other’s work. Oh how I wish I could turn back time and be lucky enough to be reading Hobb for the first time. On the upside ROTE gets better with every re read. Like you I find it funny that people say not much happens, because when those same people try to give a short run down of the plot they then realise an awful lot is actually going on. I got to read these as each one released and they were a breath of fresh air, Hobbs imagination is incredible and the tale she is weaving is truely a magnificent massive tapestry. Every thread matters. I think when Hobb goes into trauma and grim she is an absolute master at it.
Love these reviews! I started the series at the end of july and will likely finish book #7 later this evening. Looking forward to seeing more of these.
Amazing video! I found your channel through your assassin's apprentice video, right after reading it myself. I have finished the trilogy, since then. Royal assassin was definitely my favourite of the series, but the other two are still among my favourite books of all time. I found assassin's quest was overall less traumatic but somehow more of an emotional torture to read. I'm really excited to hear your opinion on it (I also ordered my trauma club hoodie, so now i have the perfect attire to start reading liveship traders)
@@the_fools_tale LOVED it! Really enjoying experiencing it through you again! I finished Live Ship Traders (breathtaking!!!) recently and about to start Tawny Man (can’t WAIT!) - I’m starting to think these could be up there with Stephen King’s Dark Tower series as my all-time favourites!! 🙌🙌 Looking forward to your thoughts on Assassins Quest. I’m new to your channel but loving it! 👏🏽
I love how you do your reviews with spoilers. It really helps me when I’m reading books in the middle of the series. Plus it has been so much fun to watch your journey! I’m glad you’re enjoying them
I've finished reading all the way up to the end of all of the books. Hearing your reactions to the first three jar brings back all of the trauma. The emotional trauma continues to go deeper with very high highs and devastating lows. Hurry up and read them all, I want too see you're review and reactions 😂
I'm really liking your coverage of this series. I read these books well over a decade ago and you're letting me remember why I loved these books so much. Can't wait for book 3 and your Liveship Traders trilogy coverage!
So glad you're loving these books! I'm doing my first read through of the Realm of The Elderlings as well and just finished Assassin's Quest a couple of weeks ago. I loved it but I know it's a polarizing read, can't wait to hear your thoughts!! Get ready for a ride
Thank you for the recap and quick review. I’ve also finished Royal Assassin some months ago and I am planing to read Assassin’s Quest starting from one of the next weeks. I guess I also felt the same way as you did. The narrative is indeed slow but there’s something so captivating and familiar about Robin Hobb. Can’t wait to know what you think about the end of the trilogy once you finish it.
It’s so cool that you got so much from these. I’ve just finished the trilogy for the first time. Seriously unpopular opinion, but I liked these books enough to finish the trilogy, but only just. I can’t fault Hobb’s character building, but I really don’t enjoy the story beats or the character decisions. And not to put too fine a point on it. Two books in on the trilogy. Assassin’s Apprentice and Royal Assassin. He has carried out zero assassinations!
This is great man! I do not know how you knew Burrich was coding messages while ripping FITZ apart! I wish I had known! That was very painful for me. Royal Assassin is my second favorite book of all time. Great call on Molly as well. I did not see the foreshadowing until my second read through.
It's wasn't much horrific but I felt the relationship between the characters were totally fu*ked up and disturbing for my taste 😌. But ending was good.
The Molly situation in this book is just ... painful 😆 And Kettriken is such a gem of a character in this series
Oh I love Kettricken so much. Her and Fitz...what could have been I guess 😔. She's so strong, and spends so much time alone ugh.
Lay aside all hopes and expectations.... FOR NOW. there are many things that aren't revealed or explained until future trilogies.
I see people criticizing the first trilogy for not explaining everything, so just... Follow the story. Be in the moment. Trust Hobb. She absolutely delivers.
I don’t mind that at all! I’m in for the ride now haha

She really is the best! Nighteyes has shot up as one of my favorite animal companions already

Just finished this book. “You’re not dead, son. You’re not dead” completely destroyed me

Yay! I've been waiting for you to join the pack! Welcome to the trauma club :)
Yesss!!! One of my favourite books ever. I've been excited for this video haha
Loved reliving this with you. Wolves have no kings. What an ending!
I love your Hobb reviews! We need more.
Ive just finished reading this book. I think i need a break before starting the next one 😅 Love these videos though! Can’t wait to see the next one!

That's awesome! I just know I'm going to love Assassin's Quest too. And thank you! From what I've heard about Liveships, definitely haha
I have been WAITING for this video!!! Making myself a cuppa to settle in and watch your reactions. God, I loved this book!!!! 😍😍😍
I hope it was worth the wait! It is an amazing book

I love your reading vlogs they're so good for my summary reading before the next volume haha
I just finished Royal Assassin. I cannot wait for you to do Assassin’s quest! Love these spoiler videos, they are so fun
Stumbling on your videos two weeks too late to get a trauma club hoodie, damn, lol. Great vids though!

This is great!! Love these videos, so that I can experience the books again! No time to reread yet, so untill then, I'll check out your channel.
This is making me want to drop all the books and reread this series
do ittt
One of my favorite fantasy books ever!
It’s so good

@@the_fools_tale well you’ll see! Might be right might be wrong!
Sounds like Robin Hobb’s books are great Halloween stories because they are scary.
Certainly horrifying
Hufff.... finally you read it😂
Hi 😊 like this book series, she one of my favourite authors too… 😊
It's wasn't much horrific but I felt the relationship between the characters were totally fu*ked up and disturbing for my taste 😌. But ending was good.
