Aside from the episode "Light Spinner" there's not enough to confirm Shadow Weaver had a bad childhood before she entered the Sorcerers Guild, but given her anger at Micah for being better (natural spellcaster) than she was it makes an apt parallel between Shadow Weaver and Catra
You can see the humanity and hope in Catra slowly die as the seasons go on, she gets more power and she slowly feels more rejected and becomes more paranoid.

Dexters Devil Still reeling on that Redemption arc for the final season. She could either face death for her redemption or at the end of all this, make amends to all the pain she’s caused to everyone, face serious prison time (Same with Hordak) in Brightmoon or somewhere else for her life with the slight hope that Scorpia or even Glimmer and Adora could visit her from time to time. But she’ll never have anyone by her side anymore and she’ll always be distant from everybody for good reasons. Catra won’t ever have a happy ending more bittersweet at best.
All Catra wants is for someone to be there who won't abandon her or use her or pity her. Hopefully, in time, she'll come to realise that Scorpia can serve that role.
Yes, that is what Catra wants and Scorpia wants to give it to her. But does Catra deserve it? Maybe she did, once upon a time, but she is a link in the chain of abuse now. She treats Scorpia like crap, and quite frankly, Scorpia deserves better. Their relationship isn't painfully beautiful. It's tragically toxic.

I mistook Catra treating Scorpia like shit for her playfulness with Adora. Catra was taking her aggression out on everyone even Scorpia. Its really for the best that they aren't together no matter how "good" it looked.
Abandonment is a painful feeling. It can lead to distrust and hatred for those who have it. Even the smallest of actions can have the harshest results.
pino legend as someone who was abandoned by most of her friends for popularity or becoming Bully’s or thinking that I was a waste of their time (that one still stings) I can relate too Catra with her anger and distrust towards people who are nice too her.
I can really relate to catras story. I was abandoned by my friend, and she never seemed to have respect for me, or understand my problems at home. She was so incredibly toxic, that my friends didn’t even stand up to her. I was so mad at her, that the anger was literally tearing my mind apart. I couldn’t handle such strong negative emotions. I snapped one night, called her, and told her about how she had made my life giving hell for 4 years. I knew I couldn’t get those years of my childhood back. While on the phone, I started to cry, and then she said “maybe it’s just you.” Even though she had just said sorry, I knew that I could never forgive her. She was just too toxic. She’s a master manipulator. Everyone loves her, but no one sees who she really is. Im the only one who knows how horrible she is.

Angel Of DEATH you can see Catra has started to become similar to Shadow Weaver, but I do believe that she will eventually break the cycle. She does have a heart, definitely more than Shadow Weaver. When she finally figures out that she doesn’t want power or need other people’s approval she can start healing herself.

Angel Of DEATH they are very similar. But Catra did save Glimmer at the end of season 4. You can tell by the way they looked at each other that Catra wasn’t in it to gain some upper hand on her. They both looked worried. Catra was ready to die. She’s had her little wake up call. It’s gonna be hard, but I think we’ll be seeing her start to progress.
Actually most likely people that are being abused will not become the abuser - but almost all people that are abusers have been abused before. People that abuse and got that from their parents or whomever; they act with the mind of "habit", they do something that is familiar to them, because they just dont know better and dont posess the mental strenght to be willing to want to try to do better
I was frankly wowed very early in the show by the way they tackled the “good” sibling/“bad” sibling dynamic under abuse. Humans can bear a lot but we feel unfairness so deeply, especially as kids. After a while it’s hard to do anything but be who you’re told you are.
I like that this show shows that after being abused so much you become more like your abuser. I know from personal experience after years of being emotionally and verbally abused, I've become like, and maybe even worse than my abuser. I don't get why people don't like Catra, then again I like a lot of characters that most people don't like. The villians, the mean ones, the complex ones, the confusing ones etc. Then again, I think it's because they're the characters I personally relate to most.
At first I thought she was really confusing and i didn't really know if i hated her or not but then as time passed by i realized that she's just misunderstood i mean like come on she always keeps being abandoned all she ever wanted was for someone to stay with her. Someone who would be there to understand her. All her anger and sadness caused her to cope with it in the wrong way. She thought that seeing the ones she use to love in misery would make her feel better about her self. All she really wanted was her best friend back 😢
Some people don’t understand that abuse can mentally go to your mind..I should know. But it can be healed if lucky enough just like Catra. She just needed to see the light.
Since she was 6-18 (idk how old she was in that one scene when her and adora was a kid)she went threw a cycle of abuse 😭 since she joined the rebellion she been alright and I’m glade moved from that ppl say she’s still a bad person she changed and for the better
i hope that, if we do get more she-ra whether its a movie or more seasons. i hope that adora tells catra how shadow weaver really treated her. Catra doesnt know what shadow weaver did to her because all weaver ever said was that she was “special” and catra took that as she was the “favorite”. but Adora, i dont remember what episode, adora said shadow weaver always told her that she was worthless. and catra doesnt know that, she doesnt realized shadow weaver has manipulated them both, abused them both. i really hope we get more she-ra.
I think she knows already. They both knew that SW abused them both (in different ways) but they were just children and needed time to realise how much she messed both of them up.
I do agree that having been abused doesn't give you a free pass to abuse people. However, they gave a free pass to shadow weaver and people seem to forget that it wasn't Catra that took the path of self destruction, the Ai of the ship steered her in that direction to split her and Adora up and I think even the writers forgot about it. Again, still doesn't give her a free pass but its not JUST her own fault. The ship Ai is the big mastermind. Thankfully Adora defied the Ai and doesn't like shadow weaver. Now its up to glitter hoe to be part of Catra's healing progress, the one who in catras mind took her friend away.

On one hand I hate how she treats Scorpia, but on the other I feel so bad for her, and she's probably only pushing others away because she's been pushed away her whole life. As the series progresses she keeps pushing everyone else away because she's developing trust issues from all the people that are betraying or leaving or rejecting her; Adora, shadow weaver, Scorpia, Hordak, etc. She can't see that people leave her because of how poorly she treats them, then gets incredibly angry and upset when they do leave. We've all seen her descent into madness, and it truly is a cycle. She gets mistreated, so she mistreats others, so they leave, and her grief from the betrayal only causes her to mistreat others even more. She's such a beautifully complex character. Ultimately, I would love so much to see her realize how badly she treated others, especially Scorpia (and we've already seen how she didn't realize how much she relied on and needed Scorpia until she left because of how she treated her), but also that she some day realize that people DO care about her, and that her value doesn't come from status (since that only left her alone and broken), but from connection and friendship, which she's been deprived of throughout her time in leadership because of all these walls she's putting up. All in all, I just hope she can get redemption. This strong little kitty needs punishment, but she also needs love.
I understand Catra and like I'm not a mean person.. I'm not unkind to others even after getting hurt or abandoned by people I cared about.. But I have been very misunderstood in my life.. Catra is my fav character and Adora.. I'm like literally catradora in the flesh.. But I understand the abuse and favouritism.. I live with it everyday not feeling like enough but just holding it on or getting angry at stupid things so like yeah..✌
What’s so tragic is that she’s dealing with problems that even normal people would break down over. Pair it with her psychology, which basically doesn’t allow her to properly heal or function.
How different would it be if Catra went with Adora in the beginning? How wonderful would it have been for her to be around people who would treat her like an actual family? Sure we may not get Scorpia right away, but there could still be a chance for her even if catra was on the princesses side.
Idk if I saw it incorrectly but I remember in the episode where mermista, scorpia, perfuma and sea hawk went to that ball, when sea hawk was “apologizing” for burning people’s ships or whatever, one of the people tied up looked like they were a cat (similar to catra) so i’m thinking that there’s a chance that there was a whole society of cat people but maybe the horde or something took over. idk just a theory
I believe she was a different species. I just can’t remember which one. We saw a planet of magicats in season 5. Catra was no doubt born on Etheria, and there had to be other magicats too, but the species as a whole is not native to Etheria.

Catra is not only a villain... She is a victim. I think if I was treated the same way she was then I would not blame her to want to see the world burn. Wouldn't you?
Im still on season 1 but it seemed adora didnt really care about catra that much, it just didnt felt she missed her, so its true, u can see that catra cared about adora way more than adora liked catra, and catra depended on adora way too much and not only catra doesnt see adora caring for her that much but the viewer doesnt see that either, and adora knows shes her only friend so yeah
This is actually a really common dynamic in abusive families. One child is singled out as “imperfect”, while another is praised and can do no wrong. This creates a huge divide between the kids, with both angry at each other instead of the person that split them up in the first place.
BeastGirl_9000 That was my family... I was the golden child, good grades, always did what I was told, teacher's pet. She was the one who struggled in school, and wouldn't do what my mom asked. We used to be best friends, and today we barely get along, and she pushed me away in everything I try to do. Now she is good at stuff I'm not good at, and refuses my care for her. She's almost exactly like Catra and I'm almost exactly like Adora. And I didn't realize it until just now. And what's worse is I don't think me or Adora know how to get them back.
The first step is telling her you realized she was being treated that way, and you’re sorry it happened that way. For abuse victims, being told what happened to them was witnessed and real can literally save a life
My mom did that with my sister and I. As adults, we're really good friends now, but we hated each other as kids. It was only after we both got out of the toxic environment we were in and actually talked things out with each other that we realized how silly it was for us to be mad at each other.
I felt like I was going to cry, because instead of brushing it off, catra felt hurt.. insulted.. left. She had no friends left by pushing them away. Even putting entrapta on beast island because she was a burden. SEE she disposed of entrapta BECAUSE she got in her way.. just like shadow weaver threatened to do to her. It all comes full circle.

Shadow Weaver’s “tough love” is some classic manipulation to except of abusive parents. In reality being treated like you’re inferior helps absolutely no one, and it’s just the parent’s poor excuse for projecting their insecurities on you
Mhm. But... In the last season Shadow Weaver did the right thing. SPOILERS Shadow Weaver busted in to save Catra. Fought the monster and killed it blocking Catra and Adora from coming into the room. But Shadow Weaver also dies because they used too much of their power that it killed her-? Please correct me if im wrong. She made the right choice but also made the wrong choice to make me cry

She probably saw Shadow Weaver as a mother figure, which is why she was so obsessed with keeping her around. Perhaps hoping that one day she would receive some kind of comfort and approval from her. Only adding to her abandonment issues.

Horde Prime abused and threw away Hordak, who in turn abused and used Shadow Weaver for her power, who in turn manipulated and abused both Adora and Catra, and Catra in turn abuses and lies to both Scorpia and Entrapta. Adora and Scorpia are breaking that chain. In Season 5 I think we will find out whether or not Catra will be the last link to be broken, or if she'll continue it anew.
Weezel Soup i dont know if we'll ever actually see her family, but the princess theory would be cool. She is not gonna be happy (at least initially) if she finds out shes a princess. Hopefully we can at least learn about the other cat people, cause Catra is the only one we've seen.
I kinda prefer her to just be a regular cat girl cuz princesses are born with some ability that makes them stronger but if Catra can hold her own against a princess without having powers it would show just how much she worked for it.
GameLeader Rea to be fair, Entrapta is a princess and has no powers. Shes just smart. Same with Scorpia. I understand what you're saying, but it can still be a possibility. Id be curious to find out either way.
Catra is the ultimate conflicted character Everyone holding out hope for her because she has such a sad back story but she’s so awful and abusive to scorpia WHY IS SHE ALOWED TO BE SO CONFUSING Edit: just finished season 5 for the third time and I think catra’s redemption was handled amazingly and even though she is so different now it’s awesome that they kept her personality and dimensionally!
She’s a conflicting character one part wants her to get a redemption but another part believes at this point just put a bullet in her skull to end her tragic life and prevent her from destroying anyone else she already came across.

ALL of the gay, Glimmer's a bit chubby, Bow and Mermista are strong characters of color, Mermista and Sea Hawk are a biracial couple (I, sadly, have not had the time/opportunity to finish season 1 and watch 2. Just got into the fandom a little while ago), and there's the idea going around, not sure if it's confirmed, of Entrapta being on the spectrum. Not to mention the whole point of this entire video: the cycle of abuse. I wouldn't put it past the creators to put some amputee rep in there, as well, and it would serve as a good push for Catra. All she's ever been is a fighter, a survivor. But that's not all she CAN be, and having the ability to fight (in the way she's always known, anyway) stripped away from her, it puts her in a 'where do I go from here' area. She's definitely not too far gone, she just needs a strong enough push.

And she deserves a redemption arc, definitely, because everything that brought her to where she is today... none of it is her fault. I'm sorry I was kind of unclear. Like, I kinda traced the need for a redemption backwards, into the why she needs it, the circumstances that led her to needing it, and then the whole 'the show is all about representation, including abuse'
Yeeeeeesss pleeeeeaaase she is my favorite character in the series and I really want her and adora and the other princesses to get along I hate seeing Catra so obviously hurt and basically alone she doesn't know what emotions to feel and it kills me cause I have heavy emotional ties with this character so it's painful when i see her sad
catra isn’t “responsible” for her own misery. she was abused which caused her trust/abandonment issues and now she struggles greatly with her self worth. she didn’t bring it upon herself, but she needed to learn how to manage her trauma so that she could finally move forward in life.
0:52 Catra’s not wrong here, but keep in mind Adora was a CHILD, just like Catra she feared Shadow Weaver’s wrath & tried 2 protect Catra & herself in a way that neither of them would get hurt, It’s basic survival instinct in an abusive parental environment. Not 2 mention Adora IS a people pleaser as Catra pointed out. Would Catra have been bolder standing up 4 Adora if SHE were the Golden Child? Maybe, but the same abuse would still happen.
I think kne of the differenced between adora and catra is that adora was bot affected by the abuse as catra. With catra you can see the abandonment, the degrading, the self doubt implanted in her from years of verbal abuse. But with adora, she was able to escape, and heal, be at peace with her past and look to the future, therefore allowing them to carve tow totally different paths.

She had no self worth and she needed people to help her understand that she deserves things too. Shadow weaver favorited her and was always expected to do good things. She thought she needed to please people, leading to her constantly sacrificing herself

Adora was six! Any child would be terrified if they saw their sibling/friend being yelled at, especially since Shadow Weaver is so fucking scary. Adora was afraid, and Catra didn't understand.

Animal Jam Catra is not really a touchy person except with Adora, and thats just from plain observation. She does need some hugs tho, but only from someone she actually wants them from. I think shes warming up to Scorpia, but platonically and not romantically. Which is good cause she does need a friend.

I swear Catra has got to be one of my favorite characters from this series. She puts on a don’t care attitude all the time but if you just look deeper. You can see that she is the most emotionally vulnerable out of everyone here because all her life she’s relied on others to keep her stable even when she doesn’t realize it. Adore was her closest friend but she saw the truth about the horde turn to the side of good Shadow weaver was abusive but she was also the closest thing catra I had to mother Scorpia and entrapeda both are genuine friends but she push them away without realizing it. Even Connie, Kyle, and Rialgo helped her A little but when they realized how terrible she was they abandoned her too. that scene in the Crimson waste where Katra gives up her chance for true happiness simply to get revenge always brings me to tears because she deserves it just won’t except it.
To Catra, Adora switched to just another bad side. Catra had no reasons to think anyone was a good guy; her concept of good only came from Adora, at least till Adora left.
@@KeshmarOrange Bruh, when Adora told her the Horde lied to them and attacked innocent civilians Catra answered that she knew about it, she knew the Horde was killing innocent and she herself destroyed villages and cities. If her morals followed Adora's then she would've gone with Adora, who offered her to follow a few times but no, let's blame Adora for leaving and keep murdering innocents. Catra was aware of what she was doing, but she wanted to prove herself to her abusive mother and gain power more than being at Adora's side, no matter who she hurt in the process. She only came back to Adora's side when she didn't have any other choice because she faced someone too powerful for her to overthrow him ( Horde Prime). I loved Catra as a character, she was an interesting and complex villain. I felt sad for the abuse she went through, but even if it explains her actions it doesn't excuse them. I hated her redemption because she faced no consequences for her actions, people forgave her way too easily.

I really want a scene where it's just Catra and Adora and Adora breaks through to her and Catra breaks down and cries in front of her. I mean full on weeping, screaming, angry tears, I wanna feel the pain in my chest from all the emotion. Her finally letting it all out. Plus no background music to add to the intensity.

She should have taken Catra with her immediately, I can understand that Catra was angry, cause Adora didnt make an effort of trying to get Catra back as soon as possible; sooooo I cant blame Catra too much. this is why i love this show. it's not like there are "bad guys" and "good guys". there are just people who are incredibly insecure in one way or another and don't know how to handle it, and there are people who handle those feelings much better in a healthier way. you can see that the "bad guys" are clearly corrupted by wanting to fill the void inside of them with power, the void that other people created in them at young ages. i really cannot comprehend why anyone can hate any of the characters in this show (I kind of understand hating double trouble because they just do everything for laughs and don't think about it, which is very much like my brother lol but anyway) because they all have so much reason to be angry and upset. no one taught them how to peacefully handle their emotions. it is SO hard to be the smarter, bigger, more wise person in knowing how to deal with negative emotions, especially when those negative emotions are so abundant. i am lucky to have smart parents who teach me ways to cope with my anxiety and depression, and without them, I would be a very destructive person. it's easy to be destructive when you feel like you are broken on the inside.

Dexters Devil Still reeling on that Redemption arc for the final season. She could either face death for her redemption or at the end of all this, make amends to all the pain she’s caused to everyone, face serious prison time (Same with Hordak) in Brightmoon or somewhere else for her life with the slight hope that Scorpia or even Glimmer and Adora could visit her from time to time. But she’ll never have anyone by her side anymore and she’ll always be distant from everybody for good reasons.
Catra won’t ever have a happy ending more bittersweet at best.
All Catra wants is for someone to be there who won't abandon her or use her or pity her. Hopefully, in time, she'll come to realise that Scorpia can serve that role.

I can really relate to catras story. I was abandoned by my friend, and she never seemed to have respect for me, or understand my problems at home. She was so incredibly toxic, that my friends didn’t even stand up to her. I was so mad at her, that the anger was literally tearing my mind apart. I couldn’t handle such strong negative emotions. I snapped one night, called her, and told her about how she had made my life giving hell for 4 years. I knew I couldn’t get those years of my childhood back. While on the phone, I started to cry, and then she said “maybe it’s just you.” Even though she had just said sorry, I knew that I could never forgive her. She was just too toxic. She’s a master manipulator. Everyone loves her, but no one sees who she really is. Im the only one who knows how horrible she is.

Angel Of DEATH you can see Catra has started to become similar to Shadow Weaver, but I do believe that she will eventually break the cycle. She does have a heart, definitely more than Shadow Weaver. When she finally figures out that she doesn’t want power or need other people’s approval she can start healing herself.

Angel Of DEATH they are very similar. But Catra did save Glimmer at the end of season 4. You can tell by the way they looked at each other that Catra wasn’t in it to gain some upper hand on her. They both looked worried. Catra was ready to die. She’s had her little wake up call. It’s gonna be hard, but I think we’ll be seeing her start to progress.
Actually most likely people that are being abused will not become the abuser - but almost all people that are abusers have been abused before. People that abuse and got that from their parents or whomever; they act with the mind of "habit", they do something that is familiar to them, because they just dont know better and dont posess the mental strenght to be willing to want to try to do better

I was frankly wowed very early in the show by the way they tackled the “good” sibling/“bad” sibling dynamic under abuse. Humans can bear a lot but we feel unfairness so deeply, especially as kids. After a while it’s hard to do anything but be who you’re told you are.

I like that this show shows that after being abused so much you become more like your abuser. I know from personal experience after years of being emotionally and verbally abused, I've become like, and maybe even worse than my abuser. I don't get why people don't like Catra, then again I like a lot of characters that most people don't like. The villians, the mean ones, the complex ones, the confusing ones etc. Then again, I think it's because they're the characters I personally relate to most.

At first I thought she was really confusing and i didn't really know if i hated her or not but then as time passed by i realized that she's just misunderstood i mean like come on she always keeps being abandoned all she ever wanted was for someone to stay with her. Someone who would be there to understand her. All her anger and sadness caused her to cope with it in the wrong way. She thought that seeing the ones she use to love in misery would make her feel better about her self. All she really wanted was her best friend back 😢

I do agree that having been abused doesn't give you a free pass to abuse people.
However, they gave a free pass to shadow weaver and people seem to forget that it wasn't Catra that took the path of self destruction, the Ai of the ship steered her in that direction to split her and Adora up and I think even the writers forgot about it.
Again, still doesn't give her a free pass but its not JUST her own fault. The ship Ai is the big mastermind. Thankfully Adora defied the Ai and doesn't like shadow weaver. Now its up to glitter hoe to be part of Catra's healing progress, the one who in catras mind took her friend away.

it makes me think that Shadow really planned every detail...
On one hand I hate how she treats Scorpia, but on the other I feel so bad for her, and she's probably only pushing others away because she's been pushed away her whole life. As the series progresses she keeps pushing everyone else away because she's developing trust issues from all the people that are betraying or leaving or rejecting her; Adora, shadow weaver, Scorpia, Hordak, etc. She can't see that people leave her because of how poorly she treats them, then gets incredibly angry and upset when they do leave. We've all seen her descent into madness, and it truly is a cycle. She gets mistreated, so she mistreats others, so they leave, and her grief from the betrayal only causes her to mistreat others even more. She's such a beautifully complex character. Ultimately, I would love so much to see her realize how badly she treated others, especially Scorpia (and we've already seen how she didn't realize how much she relied on and needed Scorpia until she left because of how she treated her), but also that she some day realize that people DO care about her, and that her value doesn't come from status (since that only left her alone and broken), but from connection and friendship, which she's been deprived of throughout her time in leadership because of all these walls she's putting up. All in all, I just hope she can get redemption. This strong little kitty needs punishment, but she also needs love.

I believe she was a different species. I just can’t remember which one. We saw a planet of magicats in season 5. Catra was no doubt born on Etheria, and there had to be other magicats too, but the species as a whole is not native to Etheria.

Adora and Scorpia are breaking that chain. In Season 5 I think we will find out whether or not Catra will be the last link to be broken, or if she'll continue it anew.

ALL of the gay, Glimmer's a bit chubby, Bow and Mermista are strong characters of color, Mermista and Sea Hawk are a biracial couple (I, sadly, have not had the time/opportunity to finish season 1 and watch 2. Just got into the fandom a little while ago), and there's the idea going around, not sure if it's confirmed, of Entrapta being on the spectrum. Not to mention the whole point of this entire video: the cycle of abuse. I wouldn't put it past the creators to put some amputee rep in there, as well, and it would serve as a good push for Catra. All she's ever been is a fighter, a survivor. But that's not all she CAN be, and having the ability to fight (in the way she's always known, anyway) stripped away from her, it puts her in a 'where do I go from here' area. She's definitely not too far gone, she just needs a strong enough push.

catra isn’t “responsible” for her own misery. she was abused which caused her trust/abandonment issues and now she struggles greatly with her self worth. she didn’t bring it upon herself, but she needed to learn how to manage her trauma so that she could finally move forward in life.

Not 2 mention Adora IS a people pleaser as Catra pointed out. Would Catra have been bolder standing up 4 Adora if SHE were the Golden Child? Maybe, but the same abuse would still happen.
I think kne of the differenced between adora and catra is that adora was bot affected by the abuse as catra. With catra you can see the abandonment, the degrading, the self doubt implanted in her from years of verbal abuse. But with adora, she was able to escape, and heal, be at peace with her past and look to the future, therefore allowing them to carve tow totally different paths.

Catra is a sad gurl who needs a hug, but I havea feeling she'd slice anyone who dared hug her (besides Scorpia because a: protective armor b: I have a feeling Catra does actually like her but won't admit it lol).
Animal Jam Catra is not really a touchy person except with Adora, and thats just from plain observation. She does need some hugs tho, but only from someone she actually wants them from. I think shes warming up to Scorpia, but platonically and not romantically. Which is good cause she does need a friend.

I swear Catra has got to be one of my favorite characters from this series. She puts on a don’t care attitude all the time but if you just look deeper. You can see that she is the most emotionally vulnerable out of everyone here because all her life she’s relied on others to keep her stable even when she doesn’t realize it.
Adore was her closest friend but she saw the truth about the horde turn to the side of good
Shadow weaver was abusive but she was also the closest thing catra I had to mother
Scorpia and entrapeda both are genuine friends but she push them away without realizing it.
Even Connie, Kyle, and Rialgo helped her A little but when they realized how terrible she was they abandoned her too.
that scene in the Crimson waste where Katra gives up her chance for true happiness simply to get revenge always brings me to tears because she deserves it just won’t except it.
But adora did try to take catra back with her she wanted to help the gud but also do it with catra but sadly that didnt work out till season five

To Catra, Adora switched to just another bad side. Catra had no reasons to think anyone was a good guy; her concept of good only came from Adora, at least till Adora left.
@@KeshmarOrange Bruh, when Adora told her the Horde lied to them and attacked innocent civilians Catra answered that she knew about it, she knew the Horde was killing innocent and she herself destroyed villages and cities. If her morals followed Adora's then she would've gone with Adora, who offered her to follow a few times but no, let's blame Adora for leaving and keep murdering innocents.
Catra was aware of what she was doing, but she wanted to prove herself to her abusive mother and gain power more than being at Adora's side, no matter who she hurt in the process.
She only came back to Adora's side when she didn't have any other choice because she faced someone too powerful for her to overthrow him ( Horde Prime).
I loved Catra as a character, she was an interesting and complex villain. I felt sad for the abuse she went through, but even if it explains her actions it doesn't excuse them. I hated her redemption because she faced no consequences for her actions, people forgave her way too easily.
Why isn't this public enough?! That was so well done and musst have been such an effort to creat!

The abuse hurts,especially when you get use to it and when actual good people try to help,You hurt them without knowing then they leave,only to hurt yourself more.

I really want a scene where it's just Catra and Adora and Adora breaks through to her and Catra breaks down and cries in front of her. I mean full on weeping, screaming, angry tears, I wanna feel the pain in my chest from all the emotion. Her finally letting it all out. Plus no background music to add to the intensity.

She should have taken Catra with her immediately, I can understand that Catra was angry, cause Adora didnt make an effort of trying to get Catra back as soon as possible; sooooo I cant blame Catra too much. Of course later she should have cooled down, but seeing how her mental state is...that was not possible.

this is why i love this show. it's not like there are "bad guys" and "good guys". there are just people who are incredibly insecure in one way or another and don't know how to handle it, and there are people who handle those feelings much better in a healthier way. you can see that the "bad guys" are clearly corrupted by wanting to fill the void inside of them with power, the void that other people created in them at young ages. i really cannot comprehend why anyone can hate any of the characters in this show (I kind of understand hating double trouble because they just do everything for laughs and don't think about it, which is very much like my brother lol but anyway) because they all have so much reason to be angry and upset. no one taught them how to peacefully handle their emotions. it is SO hard to be the smarter, bigger, more wise person in knowing how to deal with negative emotions, especially when those negative emotions are so abundant. i am lucky to have smart parents who teach me ways to cope with my anxiety and depression, and without them, I would be a very destructive person. it's easy to be destructive when you feel like you are broken on the inside.
