Since people asked about my shaders in the game, I'll share my custom preset here. *NOTE: You need to have a Nvidia Graphics card to use shaders since this requires GeForce and Nvidia Ansel. Bloxstrap is also recommended to force the lighting engine into future (my shaders looks overly bright if the lighting engine is not future so you will need bloxstrap if you plan to use my preset)* My custom shader preset: drive.google.com/file/d/1E5BqWBynmcncsx49TF33lBVldkVn7rID/view?usp=drive_link Tutorial on how to install Shaders: th-cam.com/video/KtuHFAKAJS8/w-d-xo.html
Once you do that alot people is just like the strongest battleground if you treat wrong starter player is doom because why people will mostly not treat starter players even you change rules it will still become toxic game I recommend watch dandy yt for 4 weeks that's I did it and I become pro on it reached 20 floors on it
BRO SKIBIDI TOILET IS NOT BRAINROT, THE BRAINROT COMES FROM THE CONTENT FARMS WHO USE IT NOW BRUH, the series are now mostly fights and other stuff, that is not for kids, EVEN THE OWNER SAID IT, but everyone don't listen...
One time, I was playing Poppy, and this really nice vintage Teagan came up to me during a blackout, my first ever blackout, and was like “Are you new?” I said yes, and she told everyone else to protect me since I was super new and didn’t know the game too well. I’ll be forever grateful for players like that.
When i first started, I chose boxten, went with a friend into the elevator, got extremely confused and hated the game for a solid month, saying it was overrated. One day I finally gave it another chance and a vintage vee offered to teach me. We did around four runs before they had to go and im now almost able to get vee herself!! Ty, whoever it was that taught me
i remember once when i started playing, i lagged a lot and kept dying on floor 2, then proceeded to never touch the game again until the shelly update, then gave it a try again and a friend of mine and a few random people decided helped me and now i've basically became a pro (i have shelly now)
I'm glad this is being spoken out, because when I was a starter, I got BULLIED HARD. My first impressions of the game was just mostly Goob mains yelling at me and blaming me for every wrongdoings that I didn't even make. And also people arguing with each other for ONE wrong thing someone did and sending death threats. I still remember 2 interactions of the Goob mains vividly so let me give recalls. (I'll just put them in replies since they're kind of long) --- After those incidents, I just begin to do solo private runs everytime I play. I got to floor 6 as Boxten on my 1st try, then floor 16 as Brightney on my 7th try. Which was WAY FARTHER than when I'm with purchase-able toons. Now? I can get to floor 20+ solo. There's rarely people that is willing to invite starters in their run, shoo-ing any starters away when they get in the same elevator as them. Like, It's not that hard to be nice to starters and let them play and learn. When I do multiplayer runs in public servers and there's a starter, I will protect them with my life as they learn what to do. Like, I will take EVERY attack to protect them. I don't want them to go through what I had to go through. I want them to learn teamwork rather than doing everything alone.
1) The elevator door opens, I was at 1 heart because I didn't know how to make the twisteds stop chasing me on the previous floor. The majority of the players begin to walk to a certain hallway so I followed. I also searched for any machine to extract along the way. I entered a room, 1 machine. But it was already being worked on by others. I was about to leave the room, my feet exactly at the doorway. But then, a Goob with a twisted passed by me. The Goob was quite far by the twisted so the twisted came for me instead and off'ed me. "BRO I WAS DISTRACTING" The goob yelled in chat. "IDl0T" Let me remind you that the Goob passed by a room full of TOONS that were searching for machines like me. 2) "Wanna play together again?" I asked my friend that I made in a run, who was also a starter like me. "Ok" She replied. Then all of the sudden, a Goob popped in our conversation. "I'll help" He said. I was confused by his sudden appearance and what he meant by 'I'll help', but quickly shook it off as him helping starters. We all get in a elevator, followed by randoms joining in. Game starts. We all get along well, the Goob main acting cheerful and getting the team's morale up. "Hugs for EVERYONE" Until one floor. Dandy's shop came up and I looked for something to buy. I saw Pop, it helped me escape twisteds easily so I bought it. "BRO" The goob said. "WHY" "BRO GOT ONE BRAINCELL" "WE'RE DOING DANDY RUN" "STUPID" I didn't know we were doing Dandy run btw, no one said ANYTHING when the game started. Said Goob later dies at floor 6. Me and my friend got to floor 13. Though I do admit, him and a Rodger warned me like 1 minute to not buy anything before Dandy shop came up, but I had my chat closed. Also said Goob was pulling people out of the elevator and pulling people to him when he's getting chased anyways. (This is on ALPHA 0.1.0.3 btw, old version of Dandy's)
One: bad. Bad goob. Two, on account of the mean goob players out there, i apologize(i did get kind of angry when someone did get in front of me(i first asked politely for them to not get in front of me, no this doesnt have anything to do with yall) and then i got pissy, mostly because i worried about them which ended up getting me killed- and i do wish i handled it better. This only happened once)
To be honest, I know having a distractor REALLY benefits the team, but I feel like more players should learn how to deal with twisteds roaming around without a distractor. I hate that every time the distractor leaves, dies, or stops distracting, every starts panicking not knowing what to do. They either die or start bashing on said distractor. I’ve been playing as an extractor all the time and I usually don’t have trouble with twisteds, heck I play solo runs as an extractor and not even mains give me any problems at all. Basically speaking, more players should learn how to evade twisteds more efficiently so that they don’t have to depend on the distractors too much.
Yeah but honestly it’s a death sentence if your Vee/Brightney/anyone else in their category because once the distractor dies everyone scatters running and then they lead the twisteds everywhere and this happens when I played as Vee and we had Vee and pebble on the floor and pebs died so everyone was leading them everywhere and when I was running from Tisha or poppy someone led freaking pebble to me and because of my stamina I got killed 💀 I had no good items either like pop bottle or anything so it’s probably easier to evade twisteds depending on what toon you are, like Brightney can still evade them without a distractor cause she has good stamina etc but vees might need to have more stamina items on deck and conserve stamina without a distractor
As a starter , I chose not to rely on distracters, and with previous experience in flee the facility and reading the information menu, I did pretty good for my first go( floor 6 if I’m right)
When i was a starter, i joined "pro" runs.. eveyone just died on floor 1, i knew how to play just because i have experience of this type of games (Flee the facility to be exact) and since everyone seems to be rude with starters when i join a run and there is a starter i usually go with them to teach them what i can, and prevent them to die fast, good video Muo, i want to see more Dandy world videos
Wait how do you know what I did wth, I played with my friends and they all died on floor 1 but I survived to floor 5 because of my caution of safety and “experince is the best way to learn”
I deffinetly agree with this, but as of late people have taken this info and twisted it into where if someones just casually hosting a main only run or like specific toon only runs, they got bombarded by starters and pros for being "toonist" and "not including starters". ive hosted starter ONLY runs multiple times to teach people but the second i stop supporting starters and actually attempt to do a pro like run the starters ive taught will litterally report and ban me just for saying "abc for main users only run". im litterally banned right now for a WEEK because i did this. We need to start deciphering what is genuinley not being inclusive and just wanting to have a run with experienced players.
There's definitely more work needed when it comes to defining between people just being an actual 'toonist' or just geniunely looking for a decent run yea
Exactly. If someone says "xyz for pro run" and a poppy comes up saying zyx, theres a difference between "EW POPPY K¥$" and "yo could you show me your toons? not trying to be rude but most poppies are people who have just started"
Ima be honest, I do host runs but I don’t discriminate starter players since I can always walk them through the basics. After all, it’s not the toon that makes you good. It’s the player behind that screen. I once outlived everyone as shrimps with just common sense, some memory on the twisted’s set path and just survival skills over all. But the main thing to education in this game is observation and common sense. I also wish that starters or new plays could just ask ‘how do I play?’ It’d be su much easier if kinder people would just spend time in effort to helping a new player learn and it’s even more rewarding to know that they’re so pro all because of you. I wish more people were like this and for starters to admit that they don’t know how to play which is never really a bad thing
yeah, same for me, i just host runs and everyone's allowed. and if someone has trouble with the game mechanics or whatevs, i just tell them to press the information button, its easier than bullying people for no reason...
Yeah. As a shrimpo main can agree. I outlived alot of people and the furthest floor i got as shrimpo was 11 floors. That's why everytime i join a round i always say "trust me on machines" or "don't lead twisteds to me", some of them listened, some of them didn't and ended up getting me killed at the 1st floor. I've memorized the twisted's pathings even at the time i was a beginner poppy (yes, i'm one of those people that picked poppy as a starter, i'm a fast learner tho lol). I'm also the type of player to go to private server runs first before going to public at the fear of getting ridiculed and clowned on from having zero knowledge of the game, so i research instead of asking "how to play" due to anxiety.
Im pretty new to the game and I was genuinely scared to play anything in public until I got toodles, rn im a tisha main w/ extracting trinkets so shes a mix yaya
I once joined a run full of starters only. (I was poppy, to be nice.) They all had no idea what they were doing so I taught them how to play-ish, most of them sadly died on floor 1 due to me being vague in my explanation of the game, and one of them quite literally taking the instructions "Hug the table" literally. (by hug the table I meant to run around it) I managed to teach ONE out of the eight starters how to successfully play the game, and we're still friended on roblox. (They have cosmo now, they really wanted cosmo.)
Amelia Bedelia ahh incident😭☠️ In their defense, hug the table is not good terminology to use when teaching a starter if you're not going to give a definition. To me who's unfamiliar with that terminology, it does not even REMOTELY imply you're supposed to go around the table. When teaching starters, be mindful of the fact they know nothing about the game. They probably aren't going to understand stuff like "hug the table" and "GTE" without you teaching them (unless "hug" is used in that sense in other games, but even then, not everyone's gonna know). Try to be either as clear and simple as possible or say the slang but give a definition. Thank you for making an attempt though :) Also ty on that Cosmo's behalf! Congrats to them, anyway!
funny story, one time i joined a cosmo/sprout army (mostly cosmos) and a starter asked if they could join, and mentioned they were new, we offered to help them learn the game, and that starter became a really good friend of mine.
when i started, i joined a really nice server. i went ahead and jumped into a run hosted by a tisha, and they told me to read the info page. so, i read it and then went into the run. the toons all helped me extract, cheering me on and begging for me to not die! i love them sm 💙!! we need more people like that :(
This is so real ong finally someone who explains this public server problem 😭✨ They hate and grief on people who use poppy/boxten no matter what like why do they have sm hatred to em
Only Poppy and boxten? Here's something even worse...SHRIMPO... They judge shrimpos no matter what just because of his dog water stats and i've seen people rudely saying "OMG SHRIMPO LEAVE." Or "NO SHRIMPOS GET OUT"... i am disappointed to say that i used to be one of those people. Now as a shrimpo main.. Ima say this, don't mess with shrimpo players... some of them can outlive more floors than you can. Shrimpo's that never fail a skillcheck and hits the yellow parts felt like i'm looking at a higher being apon my eyes, "only use this toon if you're looking for a challenge" exists for a reason.
@@C_WEIRDO0that’s exactly why shrimpos are hated, they don’t contribute the best and the fact players hate shrimpos exactly corresponds with the in game lore where everyone hates shrimpo. Point is they have very valid reasons why they hate shrimpos, and as for u outliving other toons, it’s not cause shrimpo is better, it’s because you as a player is more experienced, problem is- majority of shrimpos are NOT experienced and hence die pretty quickly. They have all the right to hate shrimpos , because that’s exactly what shrimpo was made for.
This reminded me when I first played the game I saw the elevators and assumed it was some sort of story game and accidently joined a Dandy run but I immediately asked when we started playing "I'm new to this game any tips?" and they gave me mostly tips for the Dandy run only but still helped me enough to learn quickly the basics of the game! :D
This is why as a starter I've been only doing casual runs.... BECAUSE IF PEOPLE WON'T LET US JOIN THEN WE MUST UNITE TOGETHER INSTEAD ( And die at floor 8 but that's okay because we are learning-) Edit: I didn't realize that floor 8 was that good for a starter- Personally I've usually been able to get to around floor 5 or 6 with only a partial team, so I assumed a full one could make at least 8... Thanks for all the encouragement (and criticism) though guys! Also I changed the "Teach us" part to "Let us join", since I didn't want to make it sound like other people should be required to teach new players... But I still wanted to address the issue of new players being left out... It is completely understandable if you don't want to carry them, but if you have an extra space available then allowing a new player to fill it is amazing... Simply watching others play is a great help in learning the game! Edit 2: This a bit old now, been playing for awhile now and I got pebbles now Yippee! My point still stands though, Starters are chill and as pebbles it is time to do everything in my power to keep them alive! :D
It’s honestly so irritating how people will just exclude you\ judge you JUST bc ur a starter\dont know much about the game. Once i was playing a normal run. Everything was normal until the host died and a rodger said “dont heal poppy she keeps buying” (there was a cosmo in the run and i was playing as poppy). People started getting confused cuz it was LITERALLY A NORMAL RUN. “This is literally a normal run stop being so rude.” I said. Then the dead host LITERALLY BUTTED IN AND SAID: “dude shes right its a normal run” then rodger said: “ whatever”💀. A couple floors later the one distracter we had died, so rodger literally got the twisted’s attention and kept leading them to me while i was extracting. I obviously died on like the sixth floor or smth. I was so mad so i just reported him. Honestly the hate for starters NEEDS to stop. Someone LITERALLY HAD THE AUDACITY to say “not a starter:(” NO JOKE😭 bros mad that I exist💀🙏
as a fairly new player of Dandy's World... yeah it really be like this. i started playing because i desperately wanted Pebble and to play as a distractor because that's EXACTLY the kind of gameplay i love doing, but getting into public lobbies with more than 2-3 other people is a massive pain. not to mention the absolute GRIND of getting enough Ichor to unlock new toons, and then getting mastery quests done, while also learning the game via brute force and youtube tutorials..... i really hope they add some way around this soon besides 'join the discord!' because it is a PROBLEM.
On your way to get pebble, I'd recommend Tisha or Goob! As they are easier to get especially Tisha! With dog plush and speed shoes you can outwalk them as either and even if you have none of those trinkets 4 star characters can still mostly outwalk with the help of sprint tapping!
The way they inform starters is crazy. When I first played I had no idea what to do and never noticed the information button until I was more experienced and had Vintage Poppy and Tisha. 😭🙏
@@Cameron_Cradily SAME LMFAOO- They should really consider doing a better tutorial, the big update is cool and all but if you want more people to play your game you gotta explain how it works better-
This kind of "pros" is more likely to leave, lag, or die too early. I always end up with two or three toons surviving who are actually good. I just want more ichor man...
Exactly! I join a pro run and by floor 6 somehow there's only 4 left. It's weird these people say "pro run" and can't even get to floor 10 with a distractor (Me, usually. Sometimes people steal on accident and I'm on bark cooldown or I can't rally the twisteds up fast enough).
Bro:how the heck ur highest floor is 14 My teammates:dies to common twisteds My lag:enjoying the game? NOT ON MY WATCH Blackout:hello my friend, there is a pebble in this dark floor and the machines are in the spots where twisteds most likely to go
My second time playing was with a Toodles and a Rodger. They were super nice and introduced me to the concept of Dandy runs. Thanks so much, Toodles and Rodger.
I’m fine with runs that don’t allow certain toons, some starters can be amazing players but you really can’t differentiate them from starters who have no idea what they’re doing.
Honestly when I first started with 2 of my other friends on 2nd July, a kind vintage poppy came up to us and asked if we were new. We said yes, and they asked if we wanted to do a run with us 4 only. We accepted, and they taught us through the basics of the game. Helped us reach floor 5+, too! We were pretty thankful. Now, I don't see people doing that. Oh how DW grew so quickly.. It's also because of that poppy that helped me become a professional! I now have all toons and trinkets in this game, all skins too. Currently focusing on mastery, which I'm left with RND, Shrimpo, Scraps, Goob and Pebble. I now help my friends and others to reach high floors, distracting / healing / extracting / supporting all for them. Whoever that vintage poppy is, thanks so much! I hope we can meet again soon.
omfg the “don’t sweat your butts off, this is a game” part is so true. tbh there’s so much sweats in a lot of games in Roblox so you can’t even enjoy the game, whether it’s griefers in Spray Paint, bodydancers and tryhards in Kaiju Paradise, or even toxic people in any darn game you try to play. like dude it’s not only you, there’s other people that came here to enjoy this game.
It's the internet. People now are toxic-ly confident because they're behind a screen, no one will know the real them. Pretty sad. What makes it worse is that kids are prone to follow their behaviour too.
Yesterday I found a poppy getting kicked out from the “main hunt no starters” so I invited her to play with me.we played in a duo I was distracting and we reached floor 16! It was fun playing with starters :D
i rememeber playing with a random poppy as shelly, she was so kind and knew what to do even with no trinkets, so i ended up getting to floor 13 with her till twisted shelly and twisted astro spawned, when we survive dthat floor, we were all at 1 hp, i hope people start realizing that newbies need people that can help them play the game.
Yeah.. this is unfortunately why I don’t wanna continue Dandy’s World.. I’m a little newborn, stupid little starter with Boxten in Dandy’s World, and I remember I was trying to go into matches with some pros and I think more experienced people, but what I noticed is that they would leave at the immediate sight of me being in their match.. So on the first game I played it was only me and my oblivious mind trying to do a solo run. I’m really interested to trying to get better, but it’s hard to do so with other people who know more information of the game than me decide to just.. leave. Anyways, thanks for reading my yap, also I stopped playing since then since.. I noticed I might get criticized for not having enough money to buy another toon to seem ‘pro’..
tbh u can host ur own servers saying everyone is allowed (mention ur new) and then try ur best to juke them (u can sprint but make sure u have enough stamina) and if someone bullies you block them and report :D
and try to be confident dont say "im not helping i hate this map with all my heart idk how to complete it" look around for machines instead!!! (unless u have 1 heart and the map is small and there are no places to hide from twisteds)
Sorry for your negative experience in the game. You deserve a better gameplay experience than that. I went through the same. I had to do solo Boxten runs to get Finn and his Vintage skin to FINALLY get respect in this game.
Thanks for all the tips and shares! I actually tried playing again recently, I finally got my first toon.. Tisha! I heard that she was a good character for starts and gives a lot of ichor for her ability, so I bought her.. And I also got into a few runs and had a good time distracting and extracting. Thanks a lot again, It really boosted my confidence into trying to get better! 💕
tbh sometimes i do no starter runs not because i hate starters but just wanna get to a high floor for once. one time i was doing a no starter run and this guy said "why do u hate starters? we were all starters once" the thing is i didnt even say i hate starters, and there was another match that they could join. people assume i hate starters but i just wanna get to a high floor and its annoying, and i was hosting a long run (no starters) and this poppy "said can i join?" i said "no but u can join another match!! they can help u" and they turns into sprout and say "ur a meanie" the thing is, some starters aren't innocent little babies either (not all of them) , when i was distracting as goob pebble spawned in floor 12 or 13 (iirc) and i said im not distracting pebble, but then this boxten leads twisted pebble to me when im doing the easier twisteds, and they forcefully say to me "go distract ur so lazy" and how do i know they're a starter? they said "how to play?" multiple times and they had no trinkets
Public hosting is usually not the place for this given that long runs are usually with people in proper comms and all, such as in discord LFG. Publics are just not worth it as it's the grounds for newcomers and as you can see my example of the 6 "long runs" I joined where none of them even reached 20.
@@muoletta ye, thats why i usually play with my friends (the ones who play dandy's world) , i only play on public servers when my friends that play dandy's world aren't online, and sadly that's pretty common
I feel lucky, since when I started as a boxten (since I saw a couple of videos about dandy’s world and extraction was important), and I did quite well honestly. I got to floor 7 before dying and people did teach me some basic stuff.
me neither i picked poppy and my friend wanted to carry but i didnt know how to juke the twisteds (it was 3 months ago)- 1 day ago i decided to play this and get around, starting off with a priv server but i said "i suck lets try public" and got in a few servers and got tisha after /// i feel bad for people who got bullied for being a starter
And then there’s the “abc for MAIN ONLY runs.” Which if I’m being honest never last long and it’s just unfair to people who don’t have a main and generally just don’t have an other character besides poppy or boxten… which can be really discouraging. I remember when I was sprout and made it to floor 18 with a random poppy. That run was so fun.
main runs are for a reason. they are there to insure that the people playing have gotten to a higher level and won't mess the run up, and sure, there's nothing wrong with starters, but a random poppy or boxten picking up a medkit that, say, goob or pebble could have needed is genuinely disappointing. getting a main is hard, so if you do indeed have a main, you should be allowed to do things others can't for obvious reasons. fairness and equality are very different things, and if we were bring equal in this situation, it would be unfair to the mains who worked hard to get to that point, while poppys and boxtens who had literally just joined get privileges as well.
I was a goob once and I played with a poppy and reached floor 16! honestly if it weren't for different schedule (it was 9PM at that time) I think we would've reached a higher floor
Poppy's mastery was by far the most difficult. Not because the tasks were difficult, but it instead was difficult to play with a team that wanted a poppy in it or find the motivation to do it solo.
Thank you for bringing attention to this because I had to LITERALLY try OVER and OVER again to like the game (it worked because now I love the game) But my BROTHER on the other hand is the type of person that would never play the game again if he didn’t like it the first time, and I KEEP trying to to get him to play with me but since he’s stubborn he won’t. (quick note my brother is only one year younger than me and is always playing Roblox, so don’t think of him as a little stubborn toddler)
As a person who mostly plays on public lobbies, it's REALLY common to see these kinds of runs. Sometimes a starter actually gets in the elevator and everyone runs to other elevators so that they don't join, but if they do, they will purposelly kill them. While i don't really like playing with starters since they die like flies, i still try to actually teach them how to play or something (they don't listen but i still try 🥲)
Thank you for making a video about this topic 🙏!! I have started playing this game at the start of October but now I have completely quitted playing this game because of the way I’m being treated by other players. I hated the fact that I was judged because the only toon I had was Poppy. I hated how I always ended up playing alone because everybody left once they saw who I was playing as. I hated it so much that I stopped playing the game because it seemed like that there was no other way. But now, I’m thinking about starting to play this game once again if more people are being informed about this issue and actually start treating everyone equally. And maybe to start playing“ practice rounds” with the new players.
this is so real :( though I never tried to join those pro runs/main runs/dandy runs bc I'm always scared to get yelled at. hopefully there are still some other pros who teaches each other equally (help why did my comments from a completely different videos teleported here 😭 yt sucks)
Honestly,u should choose Boxten instead of Poppy She is one of a Toon with the most useless ability in game (top 1 is Shrimpo,Poppy is 2) Boxten’s ability is so good that his existence already useful enough for surviving. It boosts 5% extraction per alive teammates in round *(he boosts 40% extraction speed with full 8 player alive)*
this is just great for being put out there. when I was a starter people would always blame me for bringing twisted to ppl when the DISTRACTORS, I say, DISTRACTORS, we’re doing that. a rodger even told me “hey, hey boxten- there’s a capsule over here come grab it!”. I thought they were being super kind and letting me take it, bc at the time I thought only 1 person could take it at a time. and it would then have to respawn or something, but nope. they were attacking me and trying to get me to die by twisted Rodger. cruel ppl. why hate on newbies? teach them.
I absolutely hate when this happens! Every time a new person joins the game we're in I always offer to teach them, and when they die I nod them off with a "It's okay, you tried your best!" and hope they have a smoother sailing with a bit more knowledge for the next round.
I myself am a sort of “starter”, but I remember playing the game a little early on before the fanbase even started to grow. Almost everyone was a starter, there weren’t many toons, and frankly at first I was hooked; but slowly lost interest after a while. Seeing how much the game has grown without me joining in feels weird.. I mean, I don’t even have any boosts or other toons, but I still probably know more than the average starter does. I remember being in a lobby one day with two other bubble starters, and I tried explaining how to play to them; they were pretty scared and just followed where I went, but eventually both left. Looking back now, it’s important to realize that most starters in DW are just new, unguided kids who need a little push to start their journey in the game.
4:39 sometimes starters could summon Rodger and steal meds and band when the distractor is at 1 (there's 1 distractor). And they might lead twisted to you while you're doing the last machine. (From experience btw)
Tbh im trying my best not to hate starters but the things u said are just...makes me rage bc of how true they are Thats why i only allow people who use chat
I have actually experienced all of this in some runs but it wasn't boxten or poppy, it was my worst enemy... *toodles* I really wish i could just bare toodles players but the things they do is just inexplicable and terrible. They take advantage of their 4 star stealth and attract to EVERYONE while they are on machines, resulting in too many people dying early because of toodles' incompetence. Once i was playing as cosmo and i was at 1 heart, there was a kit and i was about to grab it until this fricking toodles came and stole it. I ended up having 1 heart from floors 3-11 until dying.
Yes, SOMETIMES, but thats also why people need to explain things to starters instead of telling them nothing and then getting frustrated when they do something more experienced players don't like (not trying to be rude, I'm mainly just frustrated with this fandom as a whole)
Pro Poppy here! As a Poppy main, i used to get ignored so much by people only cuz they think im a starter, they dont judge them by how they play but only from the toon they used, and also, i dont think every starters is bad, cuz me, myself when i was a starter, i was on a dandy run and ended up outliving everyone
Thank you for this speech Muo bc I literally reached floor 37 as POPPY. so don’t judge off looks (there was somebody judging me but I ended up being the last survivor)
I started playing a month ago of DW and yes I can agree they don’t treat the starters very nicely, and the public “long runs” I’ve done were only until 20 or higher at least. Everyone else died except for me and a Glisten we reached up until 20, but most of the people I’ve interacted on there were nice during those runs where everyone else died.
This is exactly why whenever i host a long run, i say that all toons are allowed, even if they don’t manage making past floor 5, i know that there are other starters out there that have experience with the game, and they just want to save up for a certain character. When I was a starter, my highest floor was level 16. Sure that may not be that many floors, but for me back then and me now, that’s a lot, especially because whenever i join/host long runs mostly everyone dies at floors 10-14, there’s a very slim chance we actually make it to floor 15. Just because they use starter characters doesn’t mean their bad at the game.
This is exactly what im saying!!!! When you see a new player, welcome them, teach them, give them a chance to learn before they get thrown into the chaos of the main game! If you want to solve this problem, don't just look at the new players, talk to them, teach them, give them a good experience because the nicer we are, the higher chance they have to come back, and the more this community grows. so please, be kind to newbies.
Fun fact, my starter was poppy, and I was able to find the information button and read it without even going into an elevator. I soon became a starter pro. My highest floor is floor 28, by the way. Done with being goob with a single vee, no one else. :D
This happened to me as a player who knows the basic. I was playing as Tisha and I saw a Health Kit. There was a distractor on the team, it was a Goob. I took the bandaid because I know it's a rare item and no one were with me to take it (I think a Rodger was but I'm not sure). But then Goob started to complain at me to let it for them, and only because of that I learned to let bandaids for distractors. 2:54 For real bro, like, I was taught to play DOORS by my friend, now I teach ppl to play.
I did a solo run once. Made it to floor three and died only cause it got boring and i let them kill me. But i was doing so good! And the only toons i have is poppy and toodles. People can get good, you just gotta give them a chance.
1:52 There actually is a really vague tutorial in the "information" tab, but knowing roblox players in this day and age... they won't check it out, plus it only goes over the most basic stuff, a.k.a "extract machines run away from twisteds", then you're basically on your own. On one hand, yeah, it's stupid, how the hell are you supposed to learn if the game won't tell you anything. ..But on the other hand, there's this saying that goes.. "F*ck around and find out" This is exactly how I learned to play, I just played the game entirely on my own in my private server and went off from there Granted, this method has a downside, though it also might be a me-problem That being, it's hard to adjust yourself to playing in a team afterwards, like geniuenly I CANNOT play with a team, especially if it's a team that was formed in a public server randomly.
Funny experiment!: Use Pebble with shoes and dogplush but switch to mag and award while in the intermission and only extract and see how many people get hit by floor 10
tbh I really like it whenever theres a starter that's actually trying. I try carrying them as high as I can get them to so that they can learn more about twisteds and mains as a whole. It's fun. :]
When I first started, I got a Vee in my run. They walked me through everything, helped me during blackouts, and now I have about every toon.Vee, if you’re out there, thank you so much.
I was just playing earlier and this Poppy purposefully led the twisteds to me, stole two bands from Vee who needed it and just kept laughing in chat telling us to "Carry me slaves". I don't hate starters but I do hate people who grief and claim to be a starter to try and make everyone blame other starters for it
I’m lucky I never experienced this, but knowing there are other starters/noobs who experience this makes me feel really annoyed. Especially considering some pros may MAIN a starter tune and will immediately be called a noob and say they can’t join any games because they play as poppy or boxten. Just the hatred of the starter tunes is something that gives me the ick
that's why when i first started playing i usually went to my own private server. also something i noticed, people are ruder to poppy mains but lowkey nicer to boxten mains. i don't know why.
So, i would sometimes troll as a poppy and this is something that happend; I joined, immediately changed toon and un-equipped trinkets. then somebody has hosting a "Pro" only run so obviously i asked to join. They just said "ew poppy go away" (i had just bought pebble at that time) then i said "stop judging starters bro" and became pebble. They asked me if i could distract and i said "wdym distract? I'm not joining your run" and they just sent death threats to me saying I'm the "worst pebble ever". Its not my problem if they dont accept starters. we all were starters and they have to understand that.
i am sooo glad for the people who say "xyz for regular game ||| ANYONE can join" i feel so happy when i can join a game and be with people that arent as worried about getting to the highest floor at all costs, and where people understand there are new players and get less mad at others mistakes (even if they do get mad, they dont mean ill will at least)
Funnily enough, Boxten *_WANTS_* a full lobby, so it just makes their experience worse. I chose Boxten when I got started and had to straggle onto 6 or 7 lobbies to get through the early stages.
Heh. Little do they know... I'm the best pro Boxten player there ever was in NA. They're missing out on ME when they say "no starters", I regularly get to floor 90 while they crumble and cry while being hard stuck at 15. I'm the whole reason starters were gatekept. You think it's because they're guideless and constantly get other people in trouble with their lack of directions or gameplay mechanics? No. Wrong. It was because I kept winning too hard, so they had to hold ME back by making me play worse off toons like Astro or Vee. This game is trying to limit me, not the other way around. I'll be back soon. BoxtenPlayer4000 will return.
Are you really the best pro Boxten player in the NA? I think not. Because I am. You see, the top floors I get to by myself are quite higher than yours averaging around 165. I know you aren't the best because I haven't seen you around town. Me and the other best pro Boxten's all know each other. Should know Spr1nkledd, no? This is just pure lies. At least show me your stats, maybe then I'll think of you as an average Boxten player. Let's 1v1 in dandy's world at this very moment. A Boxten versus Boxten, shall we? If you do not accept then it means you are simply a noob Boxten. Not even average. You should just accept defeat at this point. I wish you luck in this battle. User is BoxtenProChamp701, accept my friend request.
fun fact: when i first started playing dandys world i literally hated the game so much because i kept dying over and OVER again and i asked people to help me on how to play it but no one did and after some time i learned how to play it myself :) edit: i finally got astro
Boxten was and still is my main who can consistently solo matches up to 15 floors. When paired with my bestie who main boxten with me, we can go up to about 17/20 if we're lucky. Playing as Boxten overall was fun but helped me out understand the mechanics until i grinded for characters like RazzleDazzle who I loved to bits for letting me get a feel of a good distractor/extractor (im more leaning towards extractor). Hopefully there will be queue up lobbies to make it easier to round up certain people (public/private code) especially to avoid stragglers filling up space or just having to avoid waiting out in the open spamming "ABC for___".
I sometimes host pro runs, but let in boxten and Poppy's as long as they have the main idea as to how to play. (Lil story : left elevator since there was 4 people, and the two boxes and said 'WERE ACTUALLY PRO!!' and turned into Shelly's, they expected me to chase after them or smth, but I ignored it.)
Back then when I was a poppy player, I played so well I'd outlive other toons and sometimes solo floors while they say I have hacks or I hide and wait for others to finish machines (I learned the fundamentals by watching another guy play Dandy world)
When I was trying to get vintage Boxten (because I love Boxten), a player shooed me and said "pro only" and when someone else tried joining them in the elevator, they instantly exited at the last 2 seconds. I ended up alone with the other starter and guess what? We made it to floor 14 with me distracting and them extracting. Another problem with the game though, is the "abc for ____ run". Beginners read that and since nobody is there to explain it to them, just copy it without knowing what it means. I had an interaction where a Poppy starter said "efg for dandy run" and instantly bought an item from Dandy after. When I said "i thought no buying?" They started becoming defensive saying "you can BUY" so I asked "I thought you said this was a Dandy run?" And they said "Yes its dandy run" so I was left confused after. Very confusing run.
THE ONLY REASON WHY I SEMI-KNEW HOW TO PLAY WASSSSS cuz i already knew that there would be toxic people that will treat you like trash if you do one thing wrong. And i was so anxious about getting people mad at me that i spend two hours studying the wiki, the stats, going on solo runs and study the twisteds-
FINALLY!! I’m glad this news might have spread to some players that don’t allow starters in. But they also don’t realise that they can teach them how to play? Atp it’s not all about the toon..
I hosted a "newbie run" once, i was surprised it actually worked and we got a full lobby (although most of them were shrimp). Anyways we died on floor 4
4:28 When I was new to the game, people assumed that I didn’t know anything about the game, but before I started playing the game, I watched some gameplays, so I knew a bit about the game. One time, two boxtens needed help getting atleast past floor 1. And since the server wasn’t full of jerks, some people (including me) decided to help them. A distractor joined in too, so when the distractor died, I died. And guess what floor I made it to? Floor 24.
Tbh as a Toodles/Fin/Poppy/Tisha haver this is rlly annoying and the best part is that when i say “Abc for Main Hunt!! No Toxics” A Poppy always joins or a starter and i always ask someone to keep the starter safe so the community wont get toxic.
whenever I'm doing a no starter run there's always someone calling me rude for it. Sorry, I just don't my whole team to die on floor 2. And something that's annoying is when someone becomes a starter character to act like they are new and go into a no starter run, but then when they say "you cant join" they become a main or something and act like they are special
As a starter myself (My best toon is Tisha) I really appreciate people like this. I read the information, but that's usually not enough. I have learnt almsost everything I know about the game by social media like tiktok, youtube and the wiki fandom. I'm still learning how to be better at this game and I want to be a good distractor or support one day.
The no starters mentality annoys me a lot because how are people supposed to become pro if you don't help them learn? I come from the Sky Cotl community, where everyone absolutely adores starters, so this is alien to me!
Since people asked about my shaders in the game, I'll share my custom preset here.
*NOTE: You need to have a Nvidia Graphics card to use shaders since this requires GeForce and Nvidia Ansel. Bloxstrap is also recommended to force the lighting engine into future (my shaders looks overly bright if the lighting engine is not future so you will need bloxstrap if you plan to use my preset)*

I’ll be forever grateful for players like that.

i remember once when i started playing, i lagged a lot and kept dying on floor 2, then proceeded to never touch the game again until the shelly update, then gave it a try again and a friend of mine and a few random people decided helped me and now i've basically became a pro (i have shelly now)
I think it was me
These "abc for PRO run" things really annoy me bc they judge your toon and in the first floor they are the one who died immediately and blames you.
I use vintage boxten with trinkets. But I’m not sure if I’ll be allowed.
@@Fuwatti-deefawtboxten with veemote?

Real but sometimes I don't wanna play with them tho😔
I'm glad this is being spoken out, because when I was a starter, I got BULLIED HARD. My first impressions of the game was just mostly Goob mains yelling at me and blaming me for every wrongdoings that I didn't even make. And also people arguing with each other for ONE wrong thing someone did and sending death threats. I still remember 2 interactions of the Goob mains vividly so let me give recalls. (I'll just put them in replies since they're kind of long)

After those incidents, I just begin to do solo private runs everytime I play.
1)
The elevator door opens,
I was at 1 heart because I didn't know how to make the twisteds stop chasing me on the previous floor.
"IDl0T"
Let me remind you that the Goob passed by a room full of TOONS that were searching for machines like me.
2)
"Wanna play together again?" I asked my friend that I made in a run, who was also a starter like me.
"Hugs for EVERYONE"
Until one floor.
Dandy's shop came up and I looked for something to buy.
I saw Pop, it helped me escape twisteds easily so I bought it.
"BRO" The goob said. "WHY" "BRO GOT ONE BRAINCELL" "WE'RE DOING DANDY RUN" "STUPID"
I didn't know we were doing Dandy run btw, no one said ANYTHING when the game started.
It's (almost) always the goobs 😭🙏
You're the protector, you know the pain and protect them from It. Idk what super hero name you'd get but you deserve one.
It's like they bully people but then when u get goob or a main your officially a pro but a poppy noob got to 10
One: bad.
Agreed. Distractor dependency is honestly a skill issue.

I practiced doing solo runs as SHRIMPO
As a starter , I chose not to rely on distracters, and with previous experience in flee the facility and reading the information menu, I did pretty good for my first go( floor 6 if I’m right)

@@C_WEIRDO0 Same here, learning the game was fairly easy for me but it may not be for others. I think they need to update the information a bit.
I once joined a run full of starters only. (I was poppy, to be nice.)
They all had no idea what they were doing so I taught them how to play-ish, most of them sadly died on floor 1 due to me being vague in my explanation of the game, and one of them quite literally taking the instructions "Hug the table" literally. (by hug the table I meant to run around it)
I managed to teach ONE out of the eight starters how to successfully play the game, and we're still friended on roblox. (They have cosmo now, they really wanted cosmo.)
Amelia Bedelia ahh incident😭☠️
In their defense, hug the table is not good terminology to use when teaching a starter if you're not going to give a definition. Thank you for making an attempt though :)

BECAUSE IF PEOPLE WON'T LET US JOIN THEN WE MUST UNITE TOGETHER INSTEAD ( And die at floor 8 but that's okay because we are learning-)

Trinkets and skins can help I guess, that or having other toons but choosing to main the starters. Which is fair.
I hope we can meet again soon.
omfg the “don’t sweat your butts off, this is a game” part is so true. tbh there’s so much sweats in a lot of games in Roblox so you can’t even enjoy the game, whether it’s griefers in Spray Paint, bodydancers and tryhards in Kaiju Paradise, or even toxic people in any darn game you try to play. like dude it’s not only you, there’s other people that came here to enjoy this game.
people are toxic wherever you go
even the most wholesome games that youd never expect toxicity to exist in the community
correct. I can’t even enjoy a relaxing round of death ball without getting absolutely beaten into the ground for using lufus or jiro.

NO I MADE A MISTAKE
Whoever that poppy was may be a starter but not a noob, people hate starters cause their newbies( and a good majority of starters are newbies)
Yeah.. this is unfortunately why I don’t wanna continue Dandy’s World..
@@gab5245 cgg! im proud of u!!!
tbh sometimes i do no starter runs not because i hate starters but just wanna get to a high floor for once. one time i was doing a no starter run and this guy said "why do u hate starters? we were all starters once" the thing is i didnt even say i hate starters, and there was another match that they could join. people assume i hate starters but i just wanna get to a high floor and its annoying, and i was hosting a long run (no starters) and this poppy "said can i join?" i said "no but u can join another match!! they can help u" and they turns into sprout and say "ur a meanie" the thing is, some starters aren't innocent little babies either (not all of them) , when i was distracting as goob pebble spawned in floor 12 or 13 (iirc) and i said im not distracting pebble, but then this boxten leads twisted pebble to me when im doing the easier twisteds, and they forcefully say to me "go distract ur so lazy" and how do i know they're a starter? they said "how to play?" multiple times and they had no trinkets
Public hosting is usually not the place for this given that long runs are usually with people in proper comms and all, such as in discord LFG.
Publics are just not worth it as it's the grounds for newcomers and as you can see my example of the 6 "long runs" I joined where none of them even reached 20.

Btw, I loved the video format! Both satirical and well informed / serious, got great laughs out of me while addressing the topic at hand, well done!
And maybe to start playing“ practice rounds” with the new players.
this is so real :( though I never tried to join those pro runs/main runs/dandy runs bc I'm always scared to get yelled at. hopefully there are still some other pros who teaches each other equally
(help why did my comments from a completely different videos teleported here 😭 yt sucks)
Honestly,u should choose Boxten instead of Poppy
She is one of a Toon with the most useless ability in game (top 1 is Shrimpo,Poppy is 2)
Boxten’s ability is so good that his existence already useful enough for surviving.
This is exactly how I am aswell
4:39 sometimes starters could summon Rodger and steal meds and band when the distractor is at 1 (there's 1 distractor). And they might lead twisted to you while you're doing the last machine. (From experience btw)
Tbh im trying my best not to hate starters but the things u said are just...makes me rage bc of how true they are
Thats why i only allow people who use chat
I have actually experienced all of this in some runs but it wasn't boxten or poppy, it was my worst enemy... *toodles*
I really wish i could just bare toodles players but the things they do is just inexplicable and terrible.

Grieving
Pro Poppy here! As a Poppy main, i used to get ignored so much by people only cuz they think im a starter, they dont judge them by how they play but only from the toon they used, and also, i dont think every starters is bad, cuz me, myself when i was a starter, i was on a dandy run and ended up outliving everyone
Once, when i was new i was a boxten, but i was surprisingly good, even helping a army of shrimpos
Poppy and boxten are actually good toons because they have decent stars on every stat
The accuracy in this video 😭
Fun fact, my starter was poppy, and I was able to find the information button and read it without even going into an elevator. I soon became a starter pro. My highest floor is floor 28, by the way. Done with being goob with a single vee, no one else. :D
I miss 3 months ago when they atleast had the decency to allow mastery boxtens in, and there were more lobbies with no charactdr restrictions

There actually is a really vague tutorial in the "information" tab, but knowing roblox players in this day and age... they won't check it out, plus it only goes over the most basic stuff, a.k.a "extract machines run away from twisteds", then you're basically on your own.
On one hand, yeah, it's stupid, how the hell are you supposed to learn if the game won't tell you anything.
..But on the other hand, there's this saying that goes..
"F*ck around and find out"
This is exactly how I learned to play, I just played the game entirely on my own in my private server and went off from there
Granted, this method has a downside, though it also might be a me-problem
That being, it's hard to adjust yourself to playing in a team afterwards, like geniuenly I CANNOT play with a team, especially if it's a team that was formed in a public server randomly.
Can you tell I made this comment without watching the video?
Because that's exactly what happened here
Don't do my Poppy dirty like that
Funny experiment!: Use Pebble with shoes and dogplush but switch to mag and award while in the intermission and only extract and see how many people get hit by floor 10
tbh I really like it whenever theres a starter that's actually trying. I try carrying them as high as I can get them to so that they can learn more about twisteds and mains as a whole. It's fun. :]
I also do this but i do it as pebble
@@RipStray prolly because boxten's ability which does have some use for the team comparing to poppy whose ability is just a self benefit
Im so glad the first bunch of runs i joined weren’t toxic. In fact, I actually got vintage boxten because everyone i played with was good and nice!
So, i would sometimes troll as a poppy and this is something that happend;
I joined, immediately changed toon and un-equipped trinkets. then somebody has hosting a "Pro" only run so obviously i asked to join.

Back then when I was a poppy player, I played so well I'd outlive other toons and sometimes solo floors while they say I have hacks or I hide and wait for others to finish machines
(I learned the fundamentals by watching another guy play Dandy world)
When I was trying to get vintage Boxten (because I love Boxten), a player shooed me and said "pro only" and when someone else tried joining them in the elevator, they instantly exited at the last 2 seconds.
I once explained to a starter Poppy about Rodger being in capsules. And ever since, they've been wary of the capsules now.
THE ONLY REASON WHY I SEMI-KNEW HOW TO PLAY WASSSSS
cuz i already knew that there would be toxic people that will treat you like trash if you do one thing wrong. And i was so anxious about getting people mad at me that i spend two hours studying the wiki, the stats, going on solo runs and study the twisteds-
