Thanks Darragh. Really appreciate the kind words, sir! We've got plenty more to come with Dan, and that's exactly what we want to do, keep improving and producing better videos!
Great haircut and i love the way you handled the clients thinning hair, lets be honest us men will get hair loss eventually and even though its a natural process, nowadays where image is all important something as natural as hair loss can cause lots of anxiety in blokes. Well done dude 👍🏼
Bravo! What a top notch, class act barber. I’ve given my clients similar advice in the past, and you can always tell that it means a lot to them to see the potential that their hair has.

That’s what a barber should be! Offering decent advice on what to do with your hair and how to give you the best look, advice on products etc. Most barbers in my area want you in and out the door as quick as possible and don’t give a shit! I need a barber like this , great haircut!
As a guy with thinning hair, this was a great video. I was doing it all wrong with the wet pomade, and barbers never told me otherwise. Changing to a superdry helped a ton.
me too, but I got the transplant scars (not really hideous but noticeable) so can't skin it at the back and two, I ride a motorbike, and the helmet never works, but as the guy say don't buzz it...condundrum but not the worst problem to have in life. As it grays it will get better I hope.
@@videolad3057 Mnnn...bad ass works for about 1/10 situations for me, and my personality 'aint bad ass. Standing in a lift or a line, people just think WTF? I take a different approach for guys with thinning hair. Especially a chap with a beard like his. I always use scissor over comb, round about a grade 4 length. This gives a nice texture and overall softness to the look. I find this grade 0 is too brash and makes the client look more bald or trying too hard. I would have taken some length off the top and textured again adding softness. With the clients age and thin hair, this doesnt work for me personally barbers are using the disconnect too often. Also the fringe was left with too much length. You will find that the cleint would have to use product and time to get the hair looking ok. I can sit the shape of the hair cut and only need product too take the fluffyness off. Example i can give of gents; Graham Norton, Tom Ford both have great hair cuts. I like my clients NOT to have that.."ohh you've had a hair cut. look".
My hairline is a norwood 3 right now. I find while longer is thinner, it helps to style the front to cover the temples, but not in a combover sort of way. That's my two cents for keeping it longer.
@@videolad3057 - Because they cost a fair bit of money and you'll sometimes need more one procedure. It's far easier for @insaneapples1559 to start using Minoxidil and Finasteride as he's in a very early stage of male pattern baldness. He'll likely stop all the thinning and see some minor improvements in his hairline too.
This is so helpful!! So much knowledge and advice I have taken on board, thankyou so much. I'm traied very basically as a barber through my uni course and my fiancé has thin hair so this is super helpful!!! ✂️🙌🏻
Awesome cut. I get something similar only my sides I like to keep at a 3/2/1 fade. My problem is the cut loses the look after like 5 days and needs to be done frequently to look clean. Any tips on how I can do some effective but easy trimming between cuts on my own?
Really nice video, barber seems like a keeper. Just wanted to know what I should say to my barber to get what he did for this gentleman for the top of his hair, is this similar to a textured style?
I wish I had the hair of the barber himself, balding sucks but it's just genes and half of men out there are going to experience meaningful level of male pattern baldness by 40. It's a great trim though and the after looks significantly better than before, which is always what you want after a haircut. The barber is first class, has a great professional attitude too.
Great cut. I would've wanted a higher fade. In texas its called a southside fade. I wouldn't go that extreme short but the idea is a very high fade to blend in that crown
A crop / french crop is a very good haircut for a receding hairline. The further back the hair is receding then the shorter you'd take the fringe! And then the exact same tips as this apply too. Shorter sides, keep the hair messier and use matte products!
Guys. Try palmers face and body lotion cacao for men. I just put in my hair for a test and wow. It made my hair thick and looked not dry anymore. You can style it then. Put it into dry hair. It even holds after you washed your hair. But without shampo. Try it. Maybe u can do a video of it
I’m wondering why Dan sometimes creates the horseshoe parting to separate top hair from sides and back, but other haircuts he cuts the top first without the horseshoe and saves the crown till the end. How do you know which is best for your client?
Guys, if you can get rid of your stress, block dht, eat healthy and especially stop eating inflammatory foods, don't drink too much alcohol you can keep you hair and probably grow some back. Meditation, control anger, relax as much as possible, exercise
So wait go shorter on my thinning area ? I thought the opposite? Let grow as much as possible? I have curly hair my hair thinning around the crown maybe to the front Advice?
This haircut looks quality.... definitely going to try a skin fade haircut. Appreciate the advice and tips on how to make thin hair look thicker as I've been weighing my hair down for years with heavy pomades. Barber seems very knowledgeable and confident definitely inspired me personally
Sir i love your videos u make such a good work, gretings from méxico by the way, i just think that for some new barbers as me, ill be very helpful if you say wich wards are yoy using i do still have some troubles identify them
Hi Jorge. Thanks for the feedback, sir! Dan does often talk about it, but we try to make these videos less technical for the average guy to understand, which is why we often cut a lot of that stuff out! We will see if we can find some balance for the barbers, like yourself, who watch our channel!
Fantastic haircut and transformation. What clay product did you use please???? I want something for the exact hair type as this client. On amazon I'm confused with the choice. Please help
Use 'Aveda grooming clay'. I have the exact same hair loss as the client in the video and this clay works well with my hair. Remember to use little product when applying, you can always use a bit more afterwards if you need to. It also helps to use a round/bristle brush when using a hair dryer before hand to 'plump' your hair and it give it volume/body.
There are great barber all over who can do both, but yes barbers in the UK and Europe nowadays often have some form of hairdressing experience too which of course helps with scissor work. It's often just a matter of which styles have been more popular in parts of the world, medium length / longer styles have often been more popular in Europe than in the US, whereas shorter Military fade styles have been the base for US mens hair over the years.
