Ive worn glasses since i was 11 now 43 and i never get use to prescription change i hang on to bannister for around 3 days as i always feel the steps are miles away 😂 and if i have to drive i wear my old ones untill i stop feeling off balance only lasts few days thankfully 😂❤
The new glasses look great Jayne! I love the cape / coat, it's so unusual. My pink sparkly nutcracker arrived today, yay! His crown had a small break, rather than send him back I fixed it. I'd already bonded with him and he had a cute face! I keep wondering if you trained Dolly to twirl or is she just bonkers? 😂 See you tomorrow 🥰

@@MrsPinkyCrazyBagLady The UK operates the same way as is done here in the U.S. Meaning that it's common practice that the store where you got your glasses from didn't offer to provide you with a copy of your prescription. Here's why. Let's say next week you decide you want a second pair of glasses or maybe a pair of prescription sunglasses. The first place you would go for then would be the store that has your prescription on file. So even if you saw a a frame you really liked in a different optical window you most likely wouldn't go into the store to try that frame on. But if you had your copy of your prescription you might at least be more tempted to go check that frame out. Now what you may not know is that all that would need to be done if you were to try that frame on and liked it enough to want it for your second pair of glasses or sunglasses that store would call the store where you got your current glasses from and request them to e-mail your prescription to them. But really every time you get your eyes examined you should ask for a copy of your prescription. so you have it handy. By law everywhere, they must provide you with a copy of your prescription. You should also ask them to include your PD measurement as well. Now I can hear you asking what the heck is that? Your PD measurement is the distance between your pupils in millimeters. As an adult once you have it, it will always be the same. And why do you need it? Well have you ever heard of Warby Parker? I'm sure you most likely have. They advertise that you can order glasses from them in your prescription for just $125.00. Now to be fair, that's a good price compared to how much you most likely paid out of your pocket for your current glasses. I know here in the U.S. most people can expect to pay anywhere from $125.00 to well over $350.00 out of pocket for their glasses. But as good as $125.00 may sound to you. There are much better options from numerous on-line glasses sites. Sites that have a very nice selection of glasses fopr under $15.00 that also includes the lenses in your prescription. Here are just a few you should take a look at. Zenni Optical, Lensmart, Eye Buy Direct and Payne Glasses.

I wish I had a dollar, yes i'm American, for how many times I had a patient that got an increase in their prescription come back a few days later insisting the prescription was wrong and usually they felt their glasses were too strong. I would check the prescription in their glasses and it always matched exactly what the doctor had prescribed for them. I would then do my best to have the patient give their eyes a chance to adjust to the prescription change. I would suggest they wear their new glasses "only" for the next week and then if they were still having issues I would have doctor recheck their eyes at no charge to them. About 80% of the time doing that their eyes adjusted and they were happy with their glasses. The other 20%I would have the doctor recheck them and the doctor would reduce the prescription so their eyes could adjust easier. In most of the cases the patient hadn't been in for an eye exam in 4 -7 years and they needed a decent amount of an increase in their glasses. And of course they had gotten so used to their glasses that they were comfortable with them being on the weak side for them. Once anyone gets glasses they should never go longer than 2 years between eye exams. Now of course no one is perfect and that includes the lens labs. But it may surprise you that it very rarely ever gets as far as the patient. When lenses are made the lab has 2 different people check the lenses for accuracy. Then when we get the lenses in our store we also check the lenses before fitting them in the frame and then a last check when the glasses of the prescription just before their fitted on you. Usually what the doctor will do is to solve the problem is reduce the increase a bit which then usually resolves the problem. However it usually means the patient will be in much sooner once their eyes adjust to the slightly weaker prescription. So a suggestion. Most optical stores usually have a return policy for 90 days after you get your glasses that if foe any reason your unhappy with your glasses you can return them for a refund or a different pair of glasses. It also includes a recheck of your eyes and new lenses if needed. So if around 80 days your glasses should start feeling a bit on the weak side you should take advantage of that policy. If you go past the 90 days and then think you need your glasses changed it will be at your cost totally.
