Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. This performance took place on September 25, 2021, and Diana was 18 years old for the inaugural season of a new Russian vocal competition called the ShowMaskGoOn. Diana Ankudinova’s cover of Elvis Presley’s classic, Can't Help Falling In Love, shows that Diana Ankudinova has developed into what many vocal professionals are saying is a true contralto voice type. For those that may not know what a contralto is, a contralto is the lowest type of female voice, and a true contralto is very, very rare. Diana has said in past interviews she was unhappy with her lack of a higher vocal range, and that lack kept her out of the more prestigious Russian musical academies. Diana, along with her voice teacher decided to concentrate extensively on developing her higher vocal range. Now, a female singer's vocal range helps to determine/define her voice type. Diana’s vocal range was first measured in 2017 when she was 13 years old. At that time Diana’s vocal range was measured from a low of D3 to a high of A5, which was very good for a 13-year-old girl. In September of 2021, during her Can’t Help Falling In Love performance, her vocal range was again measured. Diana’s functional vocal range was measured from a low of C3 (male tenor range which marks her as a Dramatic Contralto) to a high of B♭5, (female Mezzo Soprano range). During the opening of Can’t Help Falling In Love her low Contralto voice is on full display. The improvement in her upper range is also on display during the middle portion of this performance. In Diana's voice, you really hear the performance of two notes at the same time. She has an amazing technique. She can sing yodel, this is innate to her (she did not study this technique, but just took and sang when the vocal teacher asked her to do it), and in those places where polyphonic singing is heard, you can greatly slow down the sound and hear how she achieves the extraction of two voices simultaneously. In fact, she emits them sequentially, alternating a high note with a low one. But she does it so quickly that the gap in singing is not heard, but the simultaneous sound of two notes is heard.

Но для этого надо иметь очень хороший контроль голоса. На обучение контроля голоса требуются годы занятий. Диана в 12 лет контролировала свой голос так, как это делают взрослые певцы. Т.е. к 12 годам Диана прошла путь, на который обычные вокалисты тратят годы упорных тренировок.

Yes that is her voice and the low tones are hher natural timbre as a contralto, but no she does not sound like a male at all, she sounds like a very low female voice, if she sounded like a male she would not be interesting at all.

It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. Jayson, please excuse the length of my post, but there is a lot of information to give. This performance took place on September 25, 2021, and Diana was 18 years old for the inaugural season of a new Russian vocal competition called the ShowMaskGoOn. Diana Ankudinova’s cover of Elvis Presley’s classic, Can't Help Falling In Love, shows that Diana Ankudinova has developed into what many vocal professionals are saying is a true contralto voice type. For those that may not know what a contralto is, a contralto is the lowest type of female voice, and a true contralto is very, very rare.
Diana has said in past interviews she was unhappy with her lack of a higher vocal range, and that lack kept her out of the more prestigious Russian musical academies. Diana, along with her voice teacher decided to concentrate extensively on developing her higher vocal range. Now, a female singer's vocal range helps to determine/define her voice type. Diana’s vocal range was first measured in 2017 when she was 13 years old. At that time Diana’s vocal range was measured from a low of D3 to a high of A5, which was very good for a 13-year-old girl. In September of 2021, during her Can’t Help Falling In Love performance, her vocal range was again measured. Diana’s functional vocal range was measured from a low of C3 (male tenor range which marks her as a Dramatic Contralto) to a high of B♭5, (female Mezzo Soprano range). During the opening of Can’t Help Falling In Love her low Contralto voice is on full display. The improvement in her upper range is also on display during the middle portion of this performance. The depth and the power of Diana’s Dramatic Contralto voice in her lower range. Dramatic Contraltos have the deepest, darkest, and richest sound and are the most powerful of the Contralto voice types, and are the rarest of the Contralto voice types. At the end of this performance, the power of her Dramatic Contralto voice is on full display for everyone to hear.
But it’s not only how low she can go. It is the exceptional quality of her tone in both her lower and upper range that makes her so very special. It's in the roundness, fullness, and depth of her sound, along with her ability to access and use an enormous amount of resonance.
Diana has also mastered a vocal technique known as polyphonic singing, an extraordinary accomplishment for so young a singer. Someone having mastered the polyphonic singing technique can create up to two, and sometimes up to three different tones at the same time which adds to the harmonic overtones. It is this polyphonic singing ability that can make it sound like more than one person singing. That is why some people believe Diana Ankudinova is using some form of artificial electronic voice manipulation like Auto-Tune, or she is using pitch correction software to alter or adjust her sound. Others believe another person may be singing off-stage in the background. Others have accused Diana is lip-syncing over a previously recorded vocal track that was altered or modified. There is no artificial manipulation of Diana's voice at all, and no one else is singing off stage, nor is she lip-syncing to a vocal track. You are hearing the musical score backing track along with other voices on backing tracks that are used to fill in and round out this performance. Diana Ankudinova and only Diana Ankudinova is singing Can't Help Falling In Love.
One of the most asked questions is how does she do it? How does such a young female singer achieve those low, rich, deep, profound, and resonant sounds? Without actually scoping her vocal tract while she is producing those low notes to actually see what is happening within her vocal tract, the general conciseness of many vocal professionals is simply to attribute Diana's ability to her winning the genetic lottery, meaning she was just born with her unique vocal anatomy. Diana's vocal folds (vocal cords) appear to be longer and thicker than the majority of female singers. Both her larynx and pharynx similarly appear to be larger and longer than the majority of female singers, plus she has a large oral cavity (mouth). It’s this unique vocal anatomy that appears to give Diana Ankudinova the ability to produce the low, deep, rich, and full sounds she is known for, but without actually scoping her vocal track to verify, there is no way to be 100% sure.
During the final week of the ShowMaskGoOn, Diana performed her cover of "Can't Help Falling In Love". She was competing against 8 other professional singers for the entirety of the 9 weeks. The other singers also doubled as judges for this competition which was televised over nine weeks, one singer per week. Diana and the other professional singers/judges were competing against each other and based on their individual performances awarded judging points to each other. When not actively performing, Diana was also a member of the judging panel. Each week, a different singer took the stage and performed a different song over each of the nine weeks and was required to sing using a different genre of music and to use a different style.
The ShowMaskGoOn! concluded on November 20, 2021. During Diana's final performance, the judge on the top row, the first to stand is a well-known Russian opera tenor, Yusif Eyvazov from Azerbaijan who was invited to participate as a special guest judge for this inaugural competition. At the end of Diana's performance, she receives a standing ovation from all her fellow competitors. One of those competitors is also a well-known contemporary Russian singer, Julia Parshuta. Julia is in the center row dressed in all red, stands, and looks totally lost at the end of Diana's performance. She puts both hands on top of her head and has a look of total shock and bewilderment. Finally, The Show Must Go On concludes with Diana Ankudinova being awarded the most judging points over the total of 9 weeks, and she was declared the show winner!

We can say that's her real voice, but of course in such shows even though it's a live performance, there can be some minor digital effect support. But I don't believe there's autotune involved. Also, in some parts of this performance, her pre-recorded pieces were used as backing tracks.
