All this thanks to Kinnikuman, Terryman isn't always the good guy he is now, back in earlier Kinnikuman episode he is just a hero who will help for money, but then one day a kid run towards Terryman and ask him for help because the kid father is kidnapped by a monster, the kid give Terryman his piggy bank but Terryman refuse arrogantly said the money is not enough throw the piggybank and destroy it, Kinnikuman who happens to be there pick up the money and give it back to the kid saying "a hero isn't all about money, a hero is about to help those in need" Kinnikuman willing to help the kid with no payment and he only have little chance to defeat the monster still he rushed to the action, this makes Terryman amazed and reformed as a hero who will help not for money but because he can and must help those in need. The reformed Terryman and Kinnikuman finally defeat the monater and safe the kid father and Kinnikuman and Terryman finally see each other in equal and become best friend.
yeah that was summed up well, just a few things to add, yeah Terry charged money to kill Kaiju which the government was fine with thinking it was a small price compared to the damage Kinnikuman left behind, however even Kinnikuman was disgusted by the idea of charging money to save people...and yeah Terry was recognized as the sole hero of Japan and was there to tell Kinnikuman he no longer needed to show up, then yeah the thing with the kid happened, Terry kicked his piggy bank back and laughed at him, Kinnikuman punched him and gave the kid's money back saying I'll go save your dad, Terryman was also trying to warn Kinnikuman had he showed up without the consent of the Earth Defense force he would have been attacked on sight, thats when Kinnikuman responded the Yamato spirit will protect me...and yeah that inspired Terryman
