Very interesting to see the original. Her voice and Diana Ankudinova are similia and I think Diana could sing any of Dalida's songs and do a beautiful job!

Thanks !Dalida is a wonderful singer! !I am grateful to Diana for performing covers of slightly forgotten artists. The younger generation can visit the past and hear beautiful music ... Delilah left us, living now, beautiful songs. Who will sing them? ... Let it be not only Diana!..
    👍👍👍👏👏👏💕💕💕

Dalida was born from an italian family in Egypt where she grew up before moving to France. In the video you can see her coming back to Egypt after many years to visit the house where she grew up, hence her emotions climbing the stairs and when she's on the balcony.

This song is more than just a song to Dalida it's part of her story part of her personality about her going back to her birth place remembering her childhood her first love visiting her first home.
The tears and joy in the song are true so with all respect to any cover by anyone this song is about much more than just vocals.

В исполнении Дианы песня звучит гораздо ближе к арабской культуре ,поражаюсь девочке ,как она чувствует Францию ,Испанию и вот даже Арабскую культуру!!!!. Не каждому профессионалу это по плечу!

It's interesting how Diana has identified herself (since the beginning of her musical career) with songs of female performers who have had tragic lives, like Edith Piaf (when she sang "Non, Je ne regrette rien") and now with Dalida, who died by suicide in 1987. I think it tells us something about Diana's psychology about how she deals with her own childhood tragic memories at the hands of her biological mother.

Diana performed a cover that was the closest to the original. She usually makes her own changes, which I like better. I always compare it with the original or other versions, often I prefer Diana.

So glad you appreciate Diana's unique vocal style. I remember how much I loved Diana's cover of Derniere Danse and if you've not heard the original artist Indila perform it, there are a couple versions out there. Like this video today, you can find her music video on YTube, but I have to say my favorite performance is acoustical version (just guitar) with birds singing in the background (I swear I've talked about this before, but there is no way for me to fact check it - anyway, here is a link to that performance by Indila - th-cam.com/video/eehzpPOzdgI/w-d-xo.html).
Another enjoyable reaction Mama - have a great day. Dalida - born in Egypt of Italian parents and a citizen of France. Like a riddle.

In Arabic poetry it's a metaphorically known to use lovers as a representation of the relationship between you and your country, city, river, ocean etc . She was talking to her country as her lover which is a very old poetry tradition in Arabia. But i do see where you might get confused.

You should react to her French career since 1955 and especially at her disco period where she was at the top of her glory. Dalida was and is still an idol here in France. She sang in several languages. From Italo-Egyptian origin she was named Yolanda Giliotti. She left us in 1987 after she committed suicide. Thank you so much for your reaction.

Today, Dаlida again, as she filled my day with beautiful music many years ago! I can't hold back the tears... it's so natural and all in the song, in the music, without special effects, backup dances, computer processing.... Just the audience, the microphone, and her...
Here is my favorite song performed by her.

Dalida was born in Egypt ,her parents were italians .She left Egypt in her 20s to Paris then to the late 50s to the late 80s she has an extremely succesful international career .She sings in many languages :of course french ,italian ,german ,japonese ,arabic ,spanish ,portuguese etc and few songs in english. She was the first artist to receive a gold record ,the first to recieve a platinum record and in the early 80's she was the first to receive a diamond record !In the mid 70's she won the award for the biggest worldwilde selling artist !She was successful enverywhere (all Europe ,middle east ,south America ,Asia ,Russia, Quebec,Turkey ...)In the late 50s and late 70s ;twice she refused some huge american deal to sing more in the Us market she prefer to live in Paris .Her private life was sad and she commited suicide 2 times unfortunately the second time in 1987 she died by suicide .She has an impressive catalogue in french ,italian ,her arabic songs are still extremely famous .She was was also a disco queen and she 's also sing more mature songs ,her catalogue is very large .

I like the original version better! Dalidas voice is more clear and open then Diana’s voice. Dianna sings more from her nose! I can hear , it is like her nose is clogged. But Diana does have beautiful voice and it’s unique!

Shes half french half Egyptian. And in the middle east these kind of music and songs were not uncommon. Nationalism runs little strong in songs mostly. Cultural thing bcs that area has been going through many wars and invasions.
She sings it in french as well. This version was in Arabic.
    She died by committing suicide.
Some singers the sing the same song for an hour. They just repeat and riffs. But that was back in early 70s till late 80s very few.
Fairoz, and um kulthom. Are two most famous female singers in the arabic countries for the last 100. Most ppl in the middle east listen to fairoz in the morning. Hes songs are light and like a healthy breakfast, with very delicate and strong voice.
Um kulthom shes knows as number one singer on both levels males and females. Shes known for her 5 octave range, passion in her voice, and her vocal is very beautiful to those understand it.
She died in 1974. Fairoz from Lebanon, um kulthom from Egypt.
