Very good breakdown of all the filter options. Only missed option would be to apply the filter at the query level. Not always recommended but if the end users are absolutely sure they only want those countries then reduce the data set and move forward from there.
Great question! This is actually a topic I plan to bring up in a future video. But basically, they're extremely similar. The New Slicer *probably* has a little bit more functionality than the chiclet slicer, but at the end of the day they accomplish the same goal. The chiclet slicer was so popular of a 3rd party visualization that Microsoft made their own version to be included in the out-of-the-box version of Power BI!

How is Chiclet Slicer better than New Slicer?
