I am listening to this after doing laundry, putting up a fence in my yard after a winter storm and all of this makes sense to me and made me cry too. Much love to you ladies. We all need to feel supported.
I love the idea of that rest practice and the thought of "let the things that are supposed to support you, support you." ❤ SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!! Lot's of learning here. Right what I need.
Words cannot express my gratitude for the work you do Stephanie.. “let the chair hold you” literal tears 😭 so simple but such a powerful reminder that there is no need for me to be all things and do all things. I can allow myself to be supported 🙏🏾
JUST SHARING BW, Dr Antoinette Candia-Bailey, a university administrator died by suicide Jan, 2023, I read yesterday. It's been a long day here, stay safe ladies and healthy...... Eze unbothered non working spouse, child FREE thankfully in the Ozarks 🎉
I've not been working a 9 to 5 since July 2023 and I don't miss it at all. I'm living off of less right now hoping to get more money opportunities so that I can live a little more luxurious and for an emergency fund. I'm letting the universe know I'm open to new abundance 💚
Stefanie, just want to say you’re my hero. I always feel so invigorated when I watch your videos. You teach me so much and do it all with ease and a smile. You’re doing so much for the black community and women specifically. As a future corporate jumper, thanks so much for reminding me that I matter and I need to show up for myself. I applaud you 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
You're one of my favorite content creators. Your questions are well thought out and you're always prepared with great questions. You're a good listener also. Thank you for providing this platform for black women.
Thank you Stephanie for such a great video interview with your guest. I see nothing wrong with starting fresh wiping the slate clean and starting over. It's okay to restart and revise your New Year's plan. The point is to keep moving forward stay focused and see your future that you want become closer. 2024 is going to be a great year for black female solo travelers who are taking the world by storm. This is our time to shine and embrace the world🌎✈🧳🚶🏾♀
my plan is life-changing. I moved to Africa last year and have started building my home. I created a budget but did not anticipate the rise in prices and labor, and now I have to go back to the U.S. to work and make the money I need to complete my build. I am not sure how long it will take but I really do not want to go back to the states.
This is exactly what I did on my sabbatical, minus visiting Portugal! I'm gonna get there one day, though! It was all about rest for me, and I was lucky to have people to tell me to sit myself down when I forgot! I can't even tell you how much I related to this, because my modus operandi has always been "keep going", and I want to keep valuing being able to pause, appreciate, heal, celebrate, and rest on a more regular basis.
This was great to watch. I also resonate with Aundrea about going back home to West Africa and being mocked at the American girl 😅 my roots are from Gambia & Senegal
What a WONDERFUL interview! I caught it after the live this week, but this one was special! So many gems! I definitely teared up a few times as she talked about hoow to show up for yourself, imperfect and making mistakes...and what that does for your spirit and the inner healing that follows the decisions you make FOR YOU! ❤
Yay! A fellow Sierra Leonean and Marylander. Aundrea is gorgeous (as are you Stephanie!) and this interview was a pleasure to watch. Thank you so much Stephanie for bringing us quality content time and time again.
I am so glad I caught this on replay. It was so refreshing to be reminded about the importance of support and taking small steps over time an lead to rewarding outcomes. Loved the conversation with you and Aundrea. Thank you for helping me to see a pivot doesn’t have to be seen as a problem…it can be a necessary thing that stimulates future movement. I will cherish the statement “start before you are ready!”
Reallllllllllllly loved this show, I’m currently on a sabbatical in the Caribbean and about to return to London nx week after 3months absorbing great material and learning so much, thank you for sharing 🙏🏾
Oh my goodness! Aundrea! Wow, i actually went to college with her - she was a couple of years ahead of me but I've since run into her while living in Philly a few years ago and she was so so genuine! If i remember, it was the African American book fair at CCP! I will run to subscribe to her channel!❤❤❤❤
Thank you soo much!! I need that immediately. A dream was in elementary school with my daughter. Too many of us are workaholics. I feel guilty pausing sometimes. I think my daughter is doing the same.😢
I'm supposed to go to Guayaquil Ecuador from Feb.4 to March 4 for rest and relaxation and I may not be able to go, due to the chaos that is erupting in the country.😞
Same..a time in my life My plan didn’t work out I worked hard for so many years and I had people actually steal money from me tens of thousands $$ Im devastated and hurt from the level of betrayal I had to reroute My plan Now I’m the most selfish Me🩷Proudly Noe nobody gets my money it all goes to me and my plans Right now I’m taking a three day weekend to a getaway every weekend🌸I’m still working of course but very very little🥰 Now I’m not playing I have to plan for my rest and ease while making some money to support my lifestyle- and use the advantages I already have.

That's really changed things for me in the last few months. I think you'd love Octavia Raheem's book Pause, Rest Be: amzn.to/3O1Xp7B
Thank you ! Just booked my first house sit after the interview. Yes, we need a community that supports us.

I was called "spoiled" too because I had an "easy" life in America. Not really but that's how older Caribbean folks saw it.

Hello, Friends ✨️
Loving this thank you for sharing
Working in corporate for the past 3 years has shown me that I have greatly underestimated my potential for years. These people are fools 😅.
