  • Part 3 of the review contains some real-world winter off-grid testing with my 30-foot Keystone trailer in early December. The test occurs in southern California, down in Death Valley below sea level.
First, a discharge test will be done to see how long the battery pack will last with our normal AC and DC loads. Then, a pair of charging tests, a partial sunny day, and a full sun day. I finished with a demo of charging via my 2000W gas generator.

good info for the average everyday user... I started playing with solar to charge my batteries about 7 years ago with a very small system to gain some knowledge before adding additional items to achieve a bigger better system. Learned a lot about just how much the sun & clouds effect the out put. I had no idea it was so efected by the direct sun vs non direct & haze & clouds. I've a little more equipment but not a ton . THANK YOU for the real world review.

That Bluetti looks like a nice alternative to a generator for a lot of people. I think if someone were to manage their power needs, it could probably last for a weekend easily.
I noticed you listed your Starlink under your AC loads, have you looked into doing a DC conversion on it?

I've though about it but he energy savings are pretty minor in the grand scheme of things when it comes to our system. I have the second generation dish now and it draws about half the wattage of the first gen I had before. about 40 watts on average. It's also is easy to turn off and on as needed. They have really improved the boot up and sat sync time to usually less than a minute. I have its power cord plugged into a wireless remote AC outlet.

Thanks Ray. Looks like a nice battery pack. Just received my first (AOLithium) battery and have ordered a new WAFCO converter so I can properly charge it from the trailer at the lithium battery voltage. Leaving the 3rd or 4th week of Jan on the way to TX and AZ. Thanks for your input.🇨🇦

How do you stop outside lines from freezing while using in winter?

Very good video as usual thanks Ray! I have a question about your 420W ground panel. Now looking in hindsight, would you rather consider 2x200W, I have read people prefer 2x200W because of weight, size and time to deploy? Thanks again!

It's not a real world test without charging while u are using power during your test.
    I got a ac 300 with 2 b300 batteries.
A real world test is doing charging and discharging naturally

I still need to finish all my review tests. This is just part 3
