BMG is kinda afraid of being labelled as a 'phobic' or some sort of 'ism' which is kind of spineless when it comes to moderation. You'd think if they were all for trans-rights and treating them equally, they'd ban all offenders. They banned Hardy for much much less lmao.
Similar situation with Microsoft too. Most of these companies do this so that their products are able to reach a larger audience- it's the same reason why companies market to females more these days (there are more females than males)

Dara is a plague upon every community she enters & I've had her blocked on Twitter for years because of her insufferable takes like the one in the video. This is not anything new, anyone who's seen her in other communities know what I'm talking about. The sort of changes made to my local tournament scenes under her influence made me stop attending.
It's a lot of stuff I won't get into since its not really the main point of the video but just one part of it.
Regardless, BMG needs to understand you can both support the LGBTQ+ community and hold them accountable for their actions, same as everyone else.

What a crazy week it's been... I'm an ex-competitive Brawlhalla player from New Zealand, and here's my take on the situation:
The AUS community has been for a very long time, a toxic place specifically for players who wish to improve past the point of good diamond to pro player. This is because a group of top players have been gatekeeping themselves and secluding themselves from the overall community. The ways they do this include what happened in Jerry's tournament, where they turn any genuinely cool events run by community leaders into clown shows. I think all of them deserve the ban with the maybe exception of Cheeseface, although there is certainly a problem with players getting caught up in the wrong crowds and therefore displaying behaviour that is not necessarily true to who they are, but reflections of the people they wish to impress. I really feel bad for people like Vay, who seem to have been manipulated and used by both sides of this conflict. I think this is a really huge step in the right direction for the region, and I genuinely hope that these individuals can learn from their banning to maybe come back sometime later with a fresh mindset towards the game. I don't think BMG has a particular bias towards LGBTQ people, I just think the claims against Asmodie weren't verifiable at the time. In time though, I believe she will probably also be banned from the game, or at least I hope so. There are so many amazing people in the community and our bad apples do not define us. Huge respect to people like Kylar Alice, ThatJerryBoy, Bukket, Phy and others like them who continue to make the community a positive environment for everyone else. So to summarize - definitely glad this is finally happening, I think it will be a truly great thing for the Australian Brawlhalla community despite concerns about losing potentially some of our most skilled players. Thanks for covering it, it's good to have some kind of video form analysis of the situation.
Banning players, especially pros serves bmg and the pros themselves no benefit.
the aussie pro scene probably just lost their top 8. the quality of tournament play in aus depreciates, brings lesser views, and more importantly some of these players might be prone to quitting and thus causing future aus players lesser and lesser tutoring to grow.
Yes asmodie got a temporary benefit here... but she's pretty much alone now, most of the players don't respect her. She has won a battle losing the bigger war here :/

Yeah after the Dark ghoul mess im done with BMG as a company, and espically the other incident with I forgot the pro( hes the NA Greatsword main), and another NA pro player vs that one woman who said " a person is more brave showing off their pronouns than fighting a war" or something like that and they didnt even punish this woman after what she did even, but they temporally banned the other 2 for awhile

I just saw the title of this video and I immediately remember HardyMJ. Truth to be told Brawlhalla has too much of these drama and the gameplay is getting stale being more towards runhalla and problems with ping or netcode for me. Good thing I play other fighting games now thank you Brawlhalla for being my first fighting game RIP all of my money I wasted on skins.
