Great ish. A small variation. When the dish is just about ready I add a good dollop of sweet chili sauce and stir fry for a few more seconds . Gives the shrimps an additional great flavor
Used this as the inspiration for the Shrimp I made a few weeks ago at our house and again earlier tonight @ moms using Chicken. Main things I did different was season the shrimp with 1/2 tbsp each salt, sugar and msg, then patting dry the excess before seasoning with 1 tbsp smoked paprika, 1/2 tbsp coarse black pepper, 1 tsp onion powder, and 1/2 tsp tumeric. I also mixed baking powder with the corn starch and added some sweet chili sauce with the other wet ingredients. Two slam dunks in a row :-D Couldn't have done it without you!!
The green onions works! I grow them in my kitchen. Your garlic looks great! I could almost smell them, some of my favorite flavors are garlic, green onion, ginger and cilantro.
I made this with garlic and ginger from a jar and it still came out nice. Fresh ingredients would be nicer of course but I wasn't too upset with it. Also I cooked some green beans to go with it.
Very well done presentation, the right tone , easy to listen to, fast and to the point. Thank you, I will make this for my family tomorrow. I will be looking at your recipe books.
How did the onions grow? I've found they'll grow that way, but I get better results if I let them sit in a glass of water for a few days, allowing the roots to double in length. Then I plant them. Thanks for this recipe! I know it's old, but I'm trying it tonight.
I finally made it, and turned out really great. Although my biggest mistake is that I used regular soy sauce rather than the light soy sauce making taste a bit on the salty side. Next time I'll know to stick with the exact ingredients of the recipe.
What a great quick dish to prepare.Time is of the essence for me and I also want flavorful.Uncomplicated and it serves up quick and easy.Great tasting. Thanks!
I planted 1 onion root 30 years ago, it grew + made seeds. I still have onions growing everywhere from that 1 onion. We've moved twice since then, but when we move i always bring a few onions with me. They grow like dandelions.
I lived in China for 5 years and spent many many holiday's all over Asia over the years. The above method is pretty much how you cook most meat/seafood in a wok Chinese style. Half cook the meat seafood, take out, add ginger, garlic, whatever to the wok for a minute, then add back your meat/seafood and cook the rest of it. Although I've been back in the USA for many years, I still cook the majority of my meals on a cast iron wok over a high gas flame. "Woklife" I guess you can call it, makes it very easy to eat healthy and maintain healthy weight. Oh, and best scrambled eggs come out of a wok hands down....
Ok I made it. But I did it with a twist. I took the shrimp heads etc and brought them to a boil in a cup of water and then turned off the heat and let that sit while I followed your directions. When my aromatics were done I poured in a half cup of my home made shrimp stock and added a corn starch slurry I made. I was making a Chinese cornstarch sauce. It was too thick at first like gravy before you add the liquid. Added a little more shrimp water till I got a good thickness and threw the cooked shrimp back in and squeezed in half an orange. On my rice I think that sauce turned it into a one plate dinner.
I cook frozen shrimp from time to time, but what is the best way to thaw it to retain flavor? I usually soak in water. Although I don't dry them as suggested so maybe they are getting steamed...
What can i use instead of oyster sauce? i had some in my fridge for about 5 years and never used it and just threw it out last week (and right after i find a recipe that requires it!)
Great recipe. But you talk a little to fast. Don't forget TH-cam is Global, and many Americans are native Spanish. I'm Australian. keep up the good work. But maybe consider your audience. We all love good recipes
I tend to mash the garlic into a paste & use sea salt instead of soy/oyster sauce. The soy sauce makes the shrimps soggy again, and most bottled oyster sauce has msg. This is an Americanized recipe.
Because soy and oyster sauce already have salt in them so there's no need to add more salt in this recipe. I tried this and it's delicious. You don't wanna get high blood pressure. Lol.
Hi Thinking of doing your recipe but when d shrimps were fried u had not specified what oil u used?? e.g. olive oil, vegetable oil etc..It would help 2 know what oil u might have used so I don't use d wrong oil whereby making d shrimps absorb too much oil.. Thanks
Stir frys are a Chinese thing, not Italian or western, so while I have used extra virgin olive forever I learned this year that in Asian inspired stir frys oil is not what you should be worrying about. Ginger and garlic and often wow hot Chinese and Thai bottled sauces kill the flavor of oil. So it doesn't matter. I'm using cheap rot gut vegetable oil now and that's probably what they use in every Asian restaurant you have ever been too.
OMG, thanks so much for this advice. I have so many weed grinders lying around. I just tried it and it works! One of my weed grinders now lives permanently in my kitchen :)

What's the purpose oyster sauce and soy sauce ?
Making this for a second time today 😊 Really tasty stuff
Do you use dark or light soy sauce?
Great recipe. But you talk a little to fast. Don't forget TH-cam is Global, and many Americans are native Spanish. I'm Australian. keep up the good work. But maybe consider your audience. We all love good recipes
what kind of oil?
is it alright to use teriyaki sauce instead of oyster sauce?
How much oyster sauce and soya sauce?
I'm gonna try this tonight! 💁♀️
Supper delicious thank you
You can also put the ginger in the garlic mixer

Very.nice.thz
Hi I really like your channel, Thanks for sharing.I want learn more how to cook because I don't know how to cook.Fully watched support yu
Hi were the tip of your tongs made of plastic/rubber?
most likely silicon; takes hi temp easily...
No need to put salt?
What'd she do with Cilantro?
gorgeous
No red fresh chilis?
those roots should grow! thats how I started my spring onion garden lol

Made this but a little salty due to soy sauce .. maybe if u can put the recipes with the quantities but overall great taste
What's the white thingy you put on the shrimps? Is that a powder sugar?
its corn flour/starch, easily available at any local market
If you was listening she said corn starch also known as corn flour.
afgzee 😂
That's....
That's just a weed grinder
delicious. taste like panda express
can i add some capsicon?
Aaron Khoo you can add what you like, you can add sperm or shit if you wanted its your own way of cooking
What is the flour you used with the shrimp?
Corn starch no flour
That's a good shrimp dish, looks delicious. However, you shouldn't be using a pair of tongs in a heated wok. That might melt rubber/plastic on it.
2020 anyone?
What about salt? Why didn’t you add salt?
Because soy and oyster sauce already have salt in them so there's no need to add more salt in this recipe. I tried this and it's delicious. You don't wanna get high blood pressure. Lol.
0:30 "iight, imma just roll a fat one"
I have the same tongs 😬
Missed the part where you use the cilantro?
Lol damn! Straight to the point
