Yes, that was an old video but I was considering getting a 2500 Ultrasonic and looking at videos and reading reviews. Your reply looks like you have started using wet tumbling with stainless. What I have seen and read the 2500 doesn’t always do a good job on primer pockets and MidwayUsa states that if you want shiny brass you will still need to run through a vibratory media. For years I have been using corncob media with a cap of Nufinish polish added get very clean shiny brass outside but inside is clean but not shiny. I then de-cap and put 200 rounds at a time in the four Lyman case holders I have. I then use a Dremel with a small brass brush (buy them in bulk on eBay) and clean the primer pockets. It takes about 10 minutes. I think if I changed my method it would be to go with the wet tumble steel pins. Thanks for your reply on such an old video but I was very impressed with the video. Thanks
Videos You definitely want to switch to the wet stainless steal media method. By far it is the best method out of every other method out there. Way better than ultrasonic cleaner way better than just tumbling. Not only that but it is a lot quicker and easier on you. I made a wet Tumblr out of an old treadmill and PVC tubing. Grass looks brand new when you’re done with this method. Highly recommend it.
I've just bought a Lyman 2500 ultrasonic. I have about 1000 .38spl cases to clean. Please can you tell me - 1. How many cases can I place in the basket and still get 100% clean? Too many I understand reduces effectiveness. 2. At what stage is the solution so dirty it should be changed? Your answer would be much appreciated.
Thanks for the video. I am just getting into reloading and was wondering if the sonic cleaners work as well as the tumbers.... you have answered my question. Thanks. I will be buying the small Turbo sonic 700.
That is a old video. I would go with a wet as media tumbler now. 10x better. You can even save some money and make one out of an old tread mill or with a motor you have laying around. I don't even use the sonic cleaner anymore. Wet ss media is stainless steel pins that tumble with your brass in a soap and lemishine solution.
Videos so this was made a very long time ago. I tumble in corn cob media only to get the dirt and such off of the bass after shooting. Then I prep the brass. Because it was tumbled with the primers still in the flash hole doesn’t get anything stuck in it. After prepping brass I use a stainless steel pin wet media tumbling method. This gets EVERYTHING off the brass everywhere. Lube and such from resizing is all cleaned off this way. Brass essentially looks brand new. Dried in a dehydrator for about 15-20 minutes and it’s ready for reloading.
ConcordClark your question was a serious one? If so my apologies. They actually make different cleaning solutions for different items. Obviously I’m using the solution for brass and gun parts. They make another solution for jewelry as well. Hope this answers your question.

I’m looking at getting back into reloading, thanks for the video. I’ll be sure to look at the sonic cleaners.
This is an old video. Look into ss media wet tumbler. MUCH better results.

How long did you pre clean in corncob and didn’t you have trouble with the media getting stuck in the flash holes.

Will this clean US currency coins?
ConcordClark it will ONLY clean US currency coins.
+STOMP603 Thanks for your reply. I take it that it's only for "non-precious" coins. It helps a lot. Best wishes.
