Stuck in north Idaho and have been missing my home State of Wyoming, for almost 50 yrs. However, the cold, wind and poverty, have kept me away. It's very sad when one has to live in a place where you have to work or be homeless as a single, senior citizen. I waited too long.

That Wind River Canyon awesome..I camped at the lower Boysen campground and drove it three times in my van and twice on my moto . STUNNING. Worth a mention is the Buffalo Creek Road which is the first two right turns exiting the canyon at the bottom (river right for paddlers) ...first road is paved then next turn is gravel ...BEAUTIFUL along those red rock bands goes for miles and miles.

We just found you two and loved this video! I grew up in Cheyenne and have seen a ton of the spots you show here. Thermopolis is where we would go camping for a summer vacation! We're heading there in about a month and I can't wait.

Wyoming people have been taking care of this state for years we live and work hard here yes I said work we our very independent and enjoy our freedoms that we fight hard to keep we are completely self sufficient and self supporting and we are very protective of everything in this state from the way we make a living to how our children are taught so please keep this in mind
Nice video! I've been to all of them! I lived in WY for 17 years. Tetons is my fav n Snowy's come close. Yellowstone's been ruined by too many tourists.
Thank you, Elaine! Love that. Yes, the Tetons are stunning. Yellowstone is a place I will only return in the shoulder seasons! Hope you will subscribe. About to put out a similar video about Utah! Did one about Colorado recently as well.
At 5:28 ...what is the route number of the "cool road". We went from Medicine Lodge State Park to Hayette then 49 (gravel) south to Tensleep...VERY beautiful stretch of road . I want to explore MORE around that Medicine Lodge area. Lots of back road forest services roads.
This was on the main Route 16 that’s takes you through the Bighorns. That sounds awesome! I’d love to go drive all the roads around there and hike around. So pretty!
@@QuenchYourAdventure we drove UP rt16 from Tensleep to Buffalo. We got to the bottom of 14A and said NOPE...too steep. We were in the final leg of our trip and didn't want to over burden my rig pulling a 5000# trailer. I will go back and drive 14A, 14, AND 16 again! Beautiful area and not overrun with people.
Howdy, Quench Your Adventure's. I'M answering from Scenic Worland, Wyoming. The Hub of the Bighorn Basin, as we Term it. Nice Smart Travel Piece 🧩👍 You Produced. Hey Robert! 👋🏼 Thank you so much for watching and commenting. We loved our time in Wyoming. We did go to the big parks you mentioned and documented our time there in our other Wyoming videos. 😊 Thank you so much and keep enjoying the great state you live in! 😃
I know I’m not the only one who is thinking this but while I do appreciate the fact that you like the Big Horn Mountains please don’t talk them up too much. I grew up camping in and riding horses in the Big Horns and the one thing that ruins places like these is publicity. While I was growing up we could go up there for a week at a time and not see anyone else on the mountain. That is not possible any more because of the publicity these mountains receive. Please enjoy the mountains but try not to publicize them too much. Otherwise, take care of yourselves.
Hey Brent, you’re not. I had a healthy conversation with someone awhile back in the comment section. The long term goal here to to get the general public more aware of the thousands of places we have to recreate so that we spread out more and don’t have 96% of people going to just Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. I definitely respect that you enjoy these places and a huge portion of that is due to the lack of crowds. Hopefully videos like this open peoples eyes to the millions of acres of amazing places we have to recreate in this country! Thanks for watching and for your comment. ☺️
Thank you for showing parts of Wyoming we are unlikely to be able to see. We have visited the state and are fond of Buffalo area. From there we drove through the Bighorn Mountains. We are no longer young and cannot walk much further than the info sign at the roadside turn off. This summer we are limited to the Northeast. It will still be interesting.
You’re welcome. Thanks for the watching. Yes, great area. Glad you are still getting out and enjoying what you can! The Northeast has plenty of beauty as well. 😊
I grew up in Sheridan WY, so yeah I’ve been to all those places, but my part of the Big Horns are up US 14 from Dayton. Tongue River canyon is a great hike up to a cave. And there is so much more to explore up on top of the drive. Many secret places, but I’m not telling - go see for yourself.
My stomping grounds! The bighorns are one of the best kept secrets. I live central between the Bighorns and the Black Hills. I couldn’t live anywhere else. Meadowlark lake has many childhood memories!
Nice! Absolutely. I don’t mean to spoil any secrets, trust trying to open peoples eyes to how many beautiful places there are in our country and that we can spread out! Thanks for watching and I hope you’ll subscribe to support the channel. We have plenty of other videos you might enjoy. One about Utah and Colorado that are quite similar to this one. Even a South Dakota video too. 😀
Thanks you showed them off at their best ! During the 60s hippies from California came flocking to Wyoming & Montana for the wonderful open living and froze to death in their campers along the roadways. Beprepared ! That wild open country is unforgiving!
Sweet vid! We took our first trip to WY last year and visited YS, Tetons, and heading down to South Rim. Fell in love with what we so and I wanted to know what to put on our list for next time. Would be cool to see a little thumbnail where these places are during the videos but easy enough to look em up. Cheers!!
Thank you! Amazing places. Yep, I use the "save" feature on Google Maps and it's great. These locations span the state, but the Bighorns are definitely worth exploring!
Yes I have been to all and a few more. 40 year resident, and still exploring!! p.s. you need to work on the sound consistency on your video but I enjoyed it anyway !~
Interesting. Never heard of it, but sounds like a good preventative. We don’t have the RV anymore (or any vehicle for that matter), but thanks! We hope you’ll subscribe and maybe check out a few more of our videos. 😊
Between Ten Sleep and Worland is Castle Gardens. Amazing rock formations and an amazing place to fly a drone!!!! Oh, and the river flows north from Boysen dam towards Worland and the Bighorns, through Wind River Canyon, but who's counting. 😂
Nice! Would love to fly there. Haha another person said that as well. Oops! 😄 Thanks for watching and hope you’ll subscribe and check out some other videos!
I live in Cheyenne, and you forgot one one. The Medicine Wheel, up in the North east corner, if I remember right. Only been there once but its kinda creepy. Pinedale, great mountain man museum. And lots of other neat stuff to do in that area. That's it for now. Have fun, travel safe.
L am a Wyoming resident and have lived in different parts of Wyoming, I am suggesting you go see Red Canyon and Sinks Canyon.. Thanks for highlighting our state
Informative video. I invested 4 weeks in Wyoming, two years ago and I am going back this summer. Much of my time was in Jackson, Grand Teton, Pinedale, Lander, Sinking Springs and Buffalo. I briefly visited Ten Sleep and Thermopolis but didn't get to see all the backroads and outdoor attractions in your video. Please share geographical coordinates or route names. Thanks again for this video.
Hey Steve, glad you like it. Very nice. Have a great trip. I’m too busy with other projects to dig up any more info about this one, but thanks for watching and hope you’ll check out a few more of our videos. Thanks! 😊
Born In Lander, raised in Saratoga, I have spent plenty of nights at the hot pool or breaking curfew and going there and then running from the one cop on duty..... Or going there after hitting the Rustic, Wolf, Whistle Pig and Lazy River (now Duke's). Or going to the Hot Pool after working long hours. Grew up hunting the Snowies, know damn near every inch of them. Hiked up to the top of Medicine Bow Peak from Twin Lakes. I've been to Thermop more than I can count. Pretty much everywhere you showed I've been at least once, except for that Meadowlark Lake, never been there.
Very cool! Sounds like a lifetime of fond memories. Meadowlark is a nice spot. Thanks for sharing and we hope you’ll subscribe and check out a few more of our videos. 😊
That’s awesome. Such an amazing state. We might be back this year. If you have any recommendations, let us know. Thank you so much for that compliment. We’ll try and keep producing for ya!
@@QuenchYourAdventure You seem to like hiking and rock climbing, Vedauwoo is a good place for that. It's between Cheyenne and Laramie. When I was a kid we loved going there.
Thank you. Get out there when you can! National Parks are great, but this video is a nice reminder that there are so many other great places to recreate. 😀
nice video. i have been to 4 of these places. mostly because my uncle has lived there for over 50 years and my mom lived her last 15 there and God willing i will retire there when i can. if yo haven't been to wyoming i strongly suggest you give it a shot
I lived in Wyoming for a short time. Worked on a dude ranch near Sheridan where I studied wildflowers and traveled a long distance up a snowy trail to save my puppy from coyotes. Great memories.
I’m a truck driver ( 18 wheels (and there’s a few places that I actually went with my truck Thermopolis hot springs You have got to check out independence rock on highway 220 in Wyoming very cool and you get to clim it
Years back there was a road that bypassed Windriver Canyon to Thermo, the drive was like going back a hundred years it crossed private land, if you were lucky the gates won’t be locked, but alas the land owners on the Thermo end blocked it off.
Beautiful ancient and much untouched land. Love all the coniferous trees, don't suppose you know what types of tree they got growing there on the hills? Great job on the drone footage and editing, documents some brilliant views. Bless.
"Cow pie pitching" is one of our favorite sports here in Wyoming! They also serve well as fuel for campfires when there's no wood around. I even saw a fella selling "cow pie cigarettes" to the flatlanders once , but I just never screwed up the courage to try one! Too bad you didn't try fishing at Libby Lake; with a few well picked flies and a little patience, it's trout for dinner!
Haha, that’s awesome, David! They fly pretty nice and I bet they burn well too! Yes, there’s plenty more we could’ve done and maybe someday we’ll return for more. We did get to fly fish on the Snake River near Swan Valley, Idaho and caught a trout!
You’re welcome and thanks for watching! Please don’t forget to subscribe and we have a lot of other videos you might enjoy such as our top 14 places in South Dakota. 😀
Thanks for memories of Meadowlark Lake. My family took an epic camping trip in 1960...Parents, 5 kids 6>18 and the family dog, Pudgy. We came upon the lodge on Meadowlark Lake late at night with my Mom driving the station wagon with pop up Higgins trailer from Buffalo on the really narrow road at that time. Horrible drop offs and pitch black. We crashed in a big cabin and awoke to being right on the lake with blue skies. Wonderful time. Instead of racing off we spent a couple days horseback riding the the fire tower and becoming official 'Chipmunks". Still looks familiar but there was no ski lodge at that time.
If you've not done them yet, I recommend Shell Canyon up to Burgess Junction, and then from Burgess Junction, down 14A to the Medicine Wheel and Big Horn Canyon at the base. Or perhaps do that in reverse. Be aware Shell Canyon is narrow so it's a slow trip up or down, and 14A has 10% grades. The views are spectacular, but take due care with your brakes or they WILL overheat.
Thank you for the recommendations. I have them saved on my google maps. Yes, definitely some roads to utilize the lower gears! Hope you enjoyed the video and please subscribe for more!
Nice, maybe AJ could recommend some spots. We didn’t make it up there, but would’ve loved to drive Rt 14 through the northern part of the bighorns. I’m sure there’s plenty of beauty and maybe good places to see wildlife.
@@lisaknottsberryfan7982 driving up the big horn mountains is really pretty they have scenic routes. The mountains on Dayton side is really pretty too. Dayton is about 16 miles outside of Sheridan. There’s the tongue river canyon that’s headed to Dayton as well that also very cool.
👍👍Yes I've been there !!! You dident mention some of the best Flyfishing in the world is there!!! That's why I've been there all the way from Mass. 22 times!!! 😁
@@QuenchYourAdventure yes I have !!! Aren't the Bighorns beautiful !!! 😁 One year we where there they were hanglidng off the top of the pass wow what a jump!!! You can see the parey from the top man it's a long way down!!!
Wyoming is truly a great state to visit. If you really want to see Wyoming, get yourself a four wheel drive vehicle and find the interesting forest roads and two tracks and go.
You guys need a couple of Honda Trail 90s. They're light and you can put them on a rack on the back of your RV and they'll take you anywhere. Born in Wyoming. Can't say I miss it a whole lot. Really the pretty parts are separated by 200 miles of sagebrush. Anywhere really nice you can't afford. Lots and lots of alkali flats and nothingness. Good place if you hate humanity though. My great uncle didn't go to the store but a few times a year and that was his only social life. Went loooonnngg periods without speaking a word to anyone.
Thanks for the comment, Mark. I’ve got a buddy with a Honda Trail 90. Cool little motorbikes. He rode his halfway across the country. I just got an electric mountain bike and it’s great. You’re right about the separation between some of the really cool places in Wyoming, but worth the drives in my opinion! Very interesting about your uncle.
Nice! So 5 places you hadn’t! Love it. Beautiful state. Hope you’ll subscribe and check out a few more videos I’ve made that are similar to this one. 😊
@@QuenchYourAdventure I have subscribed to your video, glad you speak as you go, living in Sheridan Wyoming since 1963 to 1985, moved to Florida present day, my home is Wyoming

I love the beginning music, whistling. Yes, I have been to a couple of them. I lived in Wyoming for years. I miss my state. You mentioned lakes I have never been to, nore heard of so far. Thanks. Gorgeous terrotory. I miss it.
Thanks, Patricia! I love it to, but many people commented saying they disliked it haha interesting. Hope you’ll subscribe and enjoy a few more videos 😊
Wyoming is beautiful, but I have only been to Yellowstone and really just drove through the rest from South Dakota back to Denver (stopping in the state capital of Cheyenne). Thanks for providing this video. I'll have to look into one of these places then next time I'm back in God's country!
Loved it thanks! We are heading to Wyoming later this year. Did you get cell service in any of those locations lol we need it for work a few days while traveling and was just curious if it is decent in Wyoming. Thanks!
Nice, thank you! You’ll have a blast. I know we had great service at Grouse Mountain and I think good service along the main road in the bighorns. Definitely some dead spots in between a towns. You can always go online and look up coverage maps to get an idea. We also now have a WeBoost to strengthen our signal in the RV.
The Big hot spring at Thermopolis says 3.6 million gallons a day...thats 2500 gallon a minute. The sign above the public hot spring one said 1.6 million which would be 1250 gallon a minute. Just wanted to make sure folks understood the actual volume. I was just there last week.
Great Video! I was wondering if you guys go to see Bighorn Canyon (near Lovell), McCologh Peaks (near Cody) or Hell's Half Acre (north of Casper)? All are also little known sites in Wyoming that are awesome
Thank you! No, we kept moving so we could experience Yellowstone a d the Tetons. A few other people commented and mentioned those places and we’ve saved them in google maps!! Thanks for the comment!
On my 2022 trip to Wyoming I visited 6 of those places (did not make the hobo hot spring). they're very nice. In general, you can't go wrong on Wyoming's scenic highways. I drove almost all them in 2022 and they are outstanding.
The whistling in the first half of the video is really annoying. I had to turn down the volume and then turn it back up to hear you. The wind river canyon is truly spectacular.
Love Wyoming! Heading back to Sheridan for 3 weeks in September, after we start full time rv’ng in August. Hey, what’s the name of the song whistled in the beginning of the video?

Wyoming people have been taking care of this state for years we live and work hard here yes I said work we our very independent and enjoy our freedoms that we fight hard to keep we are completely self sufficient and self supporting and we are very protective of everything in this state from the way we make a living to how our children are taught so please keep this in mind
@@kevincraig8257 I love that! I’m all about hard work and self sufficiency. Keep installing those qualities into the world and people around you. 🙂
We have parked in the exact Wind River pulloff that you used for your thumbnail.
No way! Very cool. Really beautiful area
A great place you missed was Sinks Canyon near Lander. Definitely a natural wonder.
Yes! We have it saved to maybe visit someday. Thanks for watching and hope you’ll subscribe and check out some more 😊
At 5:28 ...what is the route number of the "cool road".
So pretty!
Oh and don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t already!
Appreciate your adventurous spirit, enjoyed you video footage. We spent many camping trips & picnics in the Snowy Range.
Thank you. Awesome. What an impressive area!!
Howdy, Quench Your Adventure's.
I'M answering from Scenic Worland, Wyoming. The Hub of the Bighorn Basin, as we Term it. Nice Smart Travel Piece 🧩👍 You Produced.
Although You didn't go Too Yellowstone Park, or Grand Teton, & Jackson Hole. As for this Segments, Itinerary? IT was Nicely done ☺️✅ & Really Cute, as well as Good 👍😊.

Hey Robert! 👋🏼 Thank you so much for watching and commenting. We loved our time in Wyoming. We did go to the big parks you mentioned and documented our time there in our other Wyoming videos. 😊
Thank you so much and keep enjoying the great state you live in! 😃
To Quench Your Adventure. Thank You for the Very Quick, & Polite Response. May God Bless You. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks Mortisha! What a great area! Don’t forget to subscribe and we have some other videos you might enjoy.
That's where I grew up, the Big Horns in my back yard. It's the world's most beautiful secret. Shhhhh
Oh cool! What a nice backyard. Yea sorry, I think the secret is out. 😁
Ha! Me too. I agree shhhh...
Shuuuuuusssshhhhh
Born, grew up,still live in Wind Rivers...they arent exactly a slouch
Very cool. Lovely area for sureb
The Snowy Range is amazing.
Amen to that!
I went to Saratoga hobo pools in the middle of winter in a blizzard and saw the most amazing frozen images ever
Wow, that sounds epic! What an interest contract with the hot springs and cold weather.
Since I’ll never get to these places it’s wonderful to live vicariously thru Jenna and Jeremy.
Glad you’re still getting to enjoy them at least virtually! 😀
Thanks you showed them off at their best ! During the 60s hippies from California came flocking to Wyoming & Montana for the wonderful open living and froze to death in their campers along the roadways. Beprepared ! That wild open country is unforgiving!
Thanks a lot! You’re not kidding about the cold temps there! Some wild country up that way.
@@QuenchYourAdventure noted !
Yes I have been to all and a few more. 40 year resident, and still exploring!!
p.s. you need to work on the sound consistency on your video
but I enjoyed it anyway !~
That’s great. Love to hear that. Yes, I’ve gotten better in the last few! Just posted one about the Tetons. Thanks!
Consider picking up a pair of "Deer whistles" around $10 bucks at any decent auto parts store. They install in minutes and helps prevent hitting one.
Interesting. Never heard of it, but sounds like a good preventative. We don’t have the RV anymore (or any vehicle for that matter), but thanks! We hope you’ll subscribe and maybe check out a few more of our videos. 😊
I was born in Thermoplis and grew up on a ranch on owl creek 7miles out on the way to Cody

That intro you guys 😍 some unreal footage you got for this one. And so much wildlife 🙌💛
I love it 😆 thank you! Yes, a bunch. 😀
Nice. Yes, heard of that spot and would’ve gone if we had more time! Thanks so much!
L am a Wyoming resident and have lived in different parts of Wyoming, I am suggesting you go see Red Canyon and
Sinks Canyon.. Thanks for highlighting our state
Very cool. We’ll add them to the list. Thank you and please subscribe to help support our channel!
Dang, Wyoming is beautiful!!
Such a pretty state!! 😀
Yes sir, Yes Wyoming is!
Been to every one of those places.. and many many more in the state that would blow you away.. great channel btw

We do too haha! Yes, we LOVE seeing wildlife! So fun.
How can I download the whistling music sound tract?
Patiently waiting for my US Visa application to visit Wyoming in August.
Thanks for your video.
I don’t remember the name but it was on epidemic sound. Good luck and enjoy! Thanks for watching
one little correction the Wind River doesn't dump into the Bosin reservoir but rather it flows from Bosin reservoir.
Nice! Yes, I had a couple other folks correct me about the flow of the Boysen Reservoir!
nice video. i have been to 4 of these places. mostly because my uncle has lived there for over 50 years and my mom lived her last 15 there and God willing i will retire there when i can. if yo haven't been to wyoming i strongly suggest you give it a shot

Yall missed out on Sinks Canyon in Lander. And Dinwoody out by Dubois.
Nice! Just saved them in google maps. So many places!
Bless.
Absolutely. I’m not sure, do you know? Thank you! We have a lot more videos that you might enjoy. Please subscribe if you haven’t already. 😀
They are mostly lodgepole pine. Some Aspen trees, and lots of Douglas Fir. On those Bighorns it's most Lodgepole and Jack Pine trees.
A wealth of knowledge!
@@QuenchYourAdventure Not a wealth of it, but just decent knowledge of Wyoming.

Very nice, thank you. Makes me homesick.
For sure, thanks for watching. You’re from there?

@@svengeorge6082 Oh cool! All across the state.

That’s so cool! Good luck making the move!
Wow, this is amazing Timothy! What an adventure. Good for your parents for doing those things with the family, even Pudgy haha. Beautiful place.
Stay away from Shell canyon

You're giving away all our secrets!
