Pretty slick tool path there on the knight.

      You mean the "knight", right?

Very cool. What was used for programming?

The program was written by one of our application engineers, using "long hand" G-code.

Okuma America Corporation Now I'm even more impressed! What does it take to get that job? Or is this a position only filled at Okuma Japan? Been a CNC Machinist/Programmer for about 2-1/2 years and want to be able to do this sort of work if the opportunity becomes available.

atomkinder67 You can always look at our Careers page for available positions: www.okuma.com/careers And remember, our distributors often have application and programming jobs available.

How much do you charge for the full set of chess pieces???

Al-eem Ahmed Thanks for your interest in the chess pieces. While we occasionally give individual pieces away at events, but we do not sell them. Of course, anyone with a GENOS L300-MYW or comparable lathe could make their own! :)

+Okuma America Corporation The pieces look amazing. What ball park figure would we look at if you would sell sets. Even a number for bare bones production costs? Just to learn in what price range this would fall. Thanks !

      Valentijn,
There are many man-hours/machine-hours in this project. Our engineers are unsure about cost, as materials were bought at different times and the project has evolved over the years. We are pretty sure the number would be thousands of dollars, but if you were to buy a GENOS L300-MYW, you could make your own! ( ^_^ )
