Congratulations Marek ! It was a thoroughly entertaining series. You had me in stitches at times, you're so funny. I look forward to your next venture. Thank you and stay cool.
Good one. I started wildcamping, whenever I can, mainly to avoid people like that at campsites. Brought back some memories, those vids. Love the feeling, at the end of a long hike, where you can't quite believe the distance you've walked. After I finished I said to myself that I'll never do that walk again, mainly because I developed a rational hatred of chalk. But after seeing your trip I'm tempted again. Possibly. Really enjoyed the whole series, thanks for that.
Genuinely nearly brought me to tears (happy ones, being super chuffed for you). Fantastic feat. Congratulations cool dude! Loved it. Looking forward to the next video :) Just noticed that your last day's distance was 11.11 miles. Like two pairs of little legs. Perhaps you could've borrowed them to give yours a rest after all that.
I literally had to run for the train at Eastleigh as soon as I finished, that was why I was a bit underwhelming at the end. I had to walk another mile and a half in 25 minutes. Yes I had to walk over 3mph. Hope you're enjoying your walks.
Just finished watching your South Downs journey. Great watch! Smashed those miles out👍. Hoping to do my first long distance walk this year. Coast to Coast definitely on my..must do list. You have to do that just so we can watch your brilliant videos.
Cool Dudes Walking Club lol definitely. Have watched a couple of videos watching people do it. Switching from wild camping to staying at digs plus buying food on the way lessens the load. I hoping to do it next year or year after.
Wow! You did so incredibly well. You are indeed the most coolest of all dudes. I am genuinely well chuffed for you. I promise to join the club when I am working again.

Congratulations. That is a huge achievement. Comfort zone shattered and something you’ll remember forever. Did it leave you wanting to do another one? Ridgeway? Coast to Coast? Or did it make you want to retire your tent?
The Ridgeway seems like a good choice. Coast the Coast is the one I really want to do, but 14 days is a long time. I'll have to wait until Cool Dudes Walking Club goes global.
For as much as you endured, I've certainly enjoyed following your journey, Marek. Good to see you over the finish line and, at the same time, sad to know it's at an end. Thanks Jim. I just watched your latest video. I was genuinely terrified when you walked through that field with THE BULL and THE CALVES in it. I don't even know what the protocol is when you walk through fields, but have been terrified since I got chased by a field of youngish cows on the Isle of Wight. Also what long walks have you got planned next.

Epic. Straight epic comeback from the cool dude, fueled on nothing but spaghetti bolognese, he utterly smashed the south downs way best record. Setting a blistering unsurpassable pace for the hopeless masses that will attempt in vain for years come, I have confirmed with the Eastbourne council to get a statue erected, it basically looks like a bowling ball with an orange on top :P Was there ever a point where you almost gave up? if so what made you continue? Congrats on the walk, another one under the belt. would love to see River Ayr Way (maybe thats abit easy going? super beautiful tho) or Rob Roy Way
The statue sounds perfect. As for almost giving up. At the start I did not know whether I was going to make it, but not having to camp out every night definitely helped. Thanks to my shoes, blisters weren't as big a problem as they were on the Isle of Wight walk. I think once you get blister problems things start to go downhill. So there was not really a point that I thought about giving up. Other than the wind I was pretty lucky with the weather.
Brilliant achievement! I really enjoyed seeing the daily videos. Looking forward to seeing your next venture. Btw: Where were the Red Arrows at the end?!
Yes you are right. where were they. I can only surmise that they must have thought I was getting there a couple of hours later as I was walking pretty fast.
Great question. It was of course a burger. I managed to get one in Alfriston, but it was strange going so long on a walk without my regular walking staple diet.
Well done Marek (and Plonk Barn) - chuffed to bits for you and can’t wait for your next walk! Spaghetti question: After a proliferation of ‘Badger-faced sheep’ this time around, what other strange animal combinations would you like to encounter in future?

Thanks for watching them all again. That last day was probably the least enjoyable I think. Can't remember who won the spaghetti. They've probably died of food poisoning.
@@cdwc 😆 I do hope they didn’t die. I do hope others watch them all again. I think you notice things you missed when you watch them again. For instance I noticed you pretending to be a sheep. Totally missed that the first time.

Thanks for joining cool dude. I didn't mind the Birling Gap but I did mind the lady who came and stood about a metre in front of my camera when I was taking a photo so she could take her photo.
Spaghetti only goes up in value when you pasta the finishing point. Great views on this walk. You must be feeling good to have achieved it. Chow ! I really enjoyed these. Your vids are to few and far between, except of corse for the last few.
Thanks Marek. I grew up on the South Downs in Woodingdean, not far from Rodmell. I’ve spent hours walking on it and done the whole thing twice. It is actually hard work but you made it really enjoyable. I also recognised more points in your videos than in some others. I’m 70 now and the last time I walked the whole thing was in 2016. I’ve been having trouble with my feet over the past 2 years but am really inclined to give it another go, maybe in September. Is there an upper age limit for the Cool Dudes’ Club? Thanks very much. That was really enjoyable. You look like the cartoons in The Good Soldier Svejk which, if you get into it, is probably the funniest book ever written. Please excuse the piss-taking but you seem like you wouldn’t mind.
Ha, I just googled the Good Soldier Svejk. I think I might need to go on a diet. Thank you very much for joining the club Tony. I think the South Downs is beautiful. It is definitely the hardest long distance path I have done to date, although I haven't done that many. Good luck with doing the walk again. I still think a lot about the Chanctonbury Ring which was my favourite bit of the walk. I always like doing the long distance paths in late September as they are much quieter and cooler. I'll put the membership in the post.
Thanks Marek. You’d probably enjoy the book. The likeness to Svejk isn’t really physical. In the videos you managed to convey his anarchic humour as well. Best wishes.
Congratulations Commissioner :D Very well done for presenting us all with another great video. Super inspiring watching you reach your goals and adding another achievement to your steadily growing collection :D Spaghetti Question; How much do walks like this one, with all the pushing through tiredness, aches and pains (and dickish behaviour of strangers) effect your enjoyment of walking in general? Stay cool, #2
Good question cool dude. Walks like these are generally less enjoyable than the shorter walks because the tiredness is cumulative, but saying that there is something great about getting up and walking each day. If only my pack was lighter. If I could magically transport my own bed and a bath to the end of every walk, that would be the dream.
Great answer A whole load of us Dudes will be better off if we remember what you said about walking each day I hope greatness balances the crappiness out. Or at the very least dilutes it I'll rub some Lamps whilst singing Ocean Drive (Ha!) and when a Genie pops out I'll request that your dream becomes reality
Great series of videos Marek. If you put in the effort, the rewards are obvious. My question is, how many stabs with a spork would it take to kill a house music playing camper? #163
Cracking videos Marek. Really enjoyed watching and it's motivated me to do more new routes. Off on holiday to Hayling Island next week so may try some of your other walks from that part of the world. Loved the views from Seven Sisters. Spaghetti question: if you could pick anyone to do the walk with, who would it be or would you prefer to do it solo? #168
Hope you enjoy Hayling Island. Good walking question. I do really like walking on my own. I think in order to walk long distances with someone you have to know them really well as you have to be comfortable with long silences. The peacefulness is such a great part of walking. First of all it seemed strange walking long distances on my own, but I like talking to the camera as it feels as though the cool dudes are with me and I am on my own at the same time.
Congrats buddy on that awesome achievement and for making this epic 7 day series. Its been emotional. 🙂👍 Thanks Marek. Spaghetti Question: Which famous programme once featured the great Spaghetti Harvest.?? I'm sure one of your viewers will answer below.... Take care.... see ya soon 👍🙂👋
I like how you wrapped that up; it felt like we joined you on an emotional and physical journey. Would it have been more enjoyable if you had taken 9 or 10 days? I'm thinking about nasty things to do to the inconsiderate campers but I'm basically non-confrontational so would have done nothing.
Yes I am the same as you with confrontation. I think nine or ten days would have been easier, but then again after about five days the beauty of the views wears off a little bit, so I craved a bit more variation. There's no way I could have done it in any shorter time, and I think if I had camped the whole way seven days would have been a struggle. Stay cool
I'm tempted, I'm tempted...after watching the WHOLE of your Downs Way to the tune of most of a bottle of Merlot. Not by the walk! The club! I have a question for you first though. You said at the end: "it's a walk for people who like there endurance". Or something like that (Merlot!). "But if you want to enjoy your walk, don't do more than 10 miles". Or something like that. Question: Why not do the South Downs Way over 10 days?!!!!!!! You could endure AND enjoy! Be careful! My membership and your survival (that wasn't a threat...just a remark about the need to earn money to eat food) could depend on this response. Yours Potentially, Cool Dude no.....
The Spotter's Handbook itself is worth the £10 membership. (you can also join on youtube). Meanwhile I did it in seven days for budget reasons. I think the whole thing cost about £350, mainly on extra kit (tent, inflatable mattress, cooking kit, the B&B, travel and food. I think I timed it perfectly as on the train back from Eastbourne there was horrific torrential rain for about four hours. Now I've got the tent and kit the next multi-day trip should be cheaper). I look forward to welcoming you as a member. Stay cool.
Member 121 Spaghetti question: Did you see any Bushranger types on your walkies? Also... My Swiss mother in law calls spaghetti spaghetti’s ... pronounced spa Getz ies, does she do this because there is more than 1 spaghetti, Is she just wrong because English isn’t her first language or making a reference to Gollum saying pocketses in Lord of the rings? Also second spaghetti question: Does the spaghetti have meat in it? I’m a vegetarian. And finally will miss your company daily. These videos were just lovely. Thank you for doing them.
I saw a bloke dressed entirely in black with his hood up jogging towards me. I didn't film him because I thought there was a 20% chance he was going to kill me. He was probably a Bushranger looking for his horse. Also all the horses in the field at the end of episode six were retired Bushranger horses. Meanwhile, yes the spaghetti does have meat in it. There will be a boring kit video soon and a couple of ghost walk videos very shortly. Spooooooooooooooky.
Well done Marek. Don’t send anyone that spaghetti. Member #160 😁 what was the worst moment? Was it wind or sheep or chalk paths or three people on a bench?
It is OK the spaghetti is vacuum packed and does not go out of date until 2021. The worst moment was probably the last mile of the 23 mile day as I was really struggling. Also when the arseholes were playing the horror film really loudly on their outside speakers, so unbelievably selfish. The last day was possibly my least favourite as I was tired and I really hate it when it's windy and I am next to cliff edges. I think that day is a lot of people's favourites but I found it strangely a bit bleak.
Nice one. You could have taken the alternate SDW route from Jevington to Eastbourne and saved yourself a few miles, but perhaps that would be considered cheating...
Wow, Marek! What an accomplishment! Great videos!

Thanks Marek. You’d probably enjoy the book. The likeness to Svejk isn’t really physical. In the videos you managed to convey his anarchic humour as well. Best wishes.
How long did it take from Winchester to Exton.😊
Congratulations Commissioner :D
Very well done for presenting us all with another great video. Super inspiring watching you reach your goals and adding another achievement to your steadily growing collection :D
Spaghetti Question; How much do walks like this one, with all the pushing through tiredness, aches and pains (and dickish behaviour of strangers) effect your enjoyment of walking in general?
Stay cool,
#2
Good question cool dude. Walks like these are generally less enjoyable than the shorter walks because the tiredness is cumulative, but saying that there is something great about getting up and walking each day. If only my pack was lighter. If I could magically transport my own bed and a bath to the end of every walk, that would be the dream.
Great answer
A whole load of us Dudes will be better off if we remember what you said about walking each day
I hope greatness balances the crappiness out. Or at the very least dilutes it
I'll rub some Lamps whilst singing Ocean Drive (Ha!) and when a Genie pops out I'll request that your dream becomes reality
Great series of videos Marek. If you put in the effort, the rewards are obvious. My question is, how many stabs with a spork would it take to kill a house music playing camper? #163
Thanks Matt. I think I would need a spork gun as the house music playing camper looked liked they had weapons.
Well done Marek!!! Out of interest: Did you see any sheep-faced-badgers on your travels?
Stay cool, member #182
This is an early front runner for best question.
If I have nightmares involving them, I'm going to describe everything that happened in vivid detail
Dude you have won the pasta meal. I will put it in the post. Stay Cool.
@@cdwc AMAZING!!!! This the coolest thing that's ever happened to me! :) Thanks Marek!
Congrats buddy on that awesome achievement and for making this epic 7 day series. Its been emotional.
🙂👍 Thanks Marek.
Spaghetti Question:
Which famous programme once featured the great Spaghetti Harvest.??
I'm sure one of your viewers will answer below....
Take care.... see ya soon 👍🙂👋
This was the April Fool's Thing right.
@@cdwc 🤔🙂👍 yeagh..... thats the one..... Panorama 1957.... spaghetti growing on trees. 😄👍.... I wonder where it really does grow?
Yours Potentially,
Cool Dude no.....
Stay cool.
@@cdwc This was a very practical answer. I may well subscribe!
I did subscribe! Now going by the moniker of Cool Dude #488. Which is undoubtedly the coolest number. Apart from the ones below zero obvs.
Second spaghetti sounds like second breakfasts. Very hobbit-like.
@@cdwc yah boring is just what I’m looking for in my you tube watching... and the odd bushranger.
That Jevington route is the cycle route. I was glad to have a stretch where I didn't almost get hit by them.
Nice one cool dude!
Were you able to identify the film that the camper wankers were watching and, if so, is it now ruined for you?
Stay cool! CD#143
No I had me ear plugs in and I could still hear muffled eerie music and occasionally screetching.
Spaghetti isn't Greek, it's Ottoman
I never understand what you are saying.
