- Andy's toys pursue Al, but Zurg catches them in the elevator shaft, confronts Utility Belt Buzz, and reveals himself to be Buzz's father. Rex inadvertently knocks Zurg down the shaft. Utility Belt Buzz reconciles with and stays with Zurg, who survived the fall.

You know what's crazy to think about? This movie could have easily scrapped the intro to the movie and all of Zurg's scenes from the final product, and the plot of this movie would have still been mostly intact. However, I'm so glad that the filmmakers included all of them, because it made Utility Belt Buzz's subplot so much funnier. xD

What gets to my attention why didn’t Zurg fought the 2 Buzzes, obviously the non-utility belt Buzz is the Original Buzz Lightyear and why he fought the Utility Belt Buzz Instead

@@maxkelley2003 Anything with enough force can destroy even metal!
Even a lead from a tree for example. If enough force is applied to it (or any object) it can be a lethal weapon.

I'm pretty sure zurg was intended to be a parody of Darth Vader.
Fun fact: the when Zerg grabs Buzz that is also a reference to Star Wars when Darth Vader strangles captain Antilles

@@maxkelley2003I would imagine the dial on zurg's blaster would either just be cosmetic or if it wasn't it would just most likely change the rate of fire of the balls. Considering the balls are either foam or plastic, buzz being plastic himself would be pretty much undamaged.

Honestly I dunno what they were so worried about, Utility Belt Buzz had a lot of health left.
It's just weird that Lightyear made Zurg be an older version of Buzz. It just makes him seem like a throwaway villain instead of Buzz's ARCH NEMESIS.
"Watch Buzz go up against a grumpy old man in a robot suit" just doesn't seem as cool as "watch Buzz go up against an EVIL EMPEROR SPACE ROBOT"
That might not have been the real Zurg in Lightyear, cuz it did not look like the one in Toy Story or Buzz Lightyear of Star Command.

That might not have been the real Zurg in Lightyear. It could have just been Buzz disguised as Zurg. The real Zurg I believe is still out there somewhere. Plus it did not look like Zurg at all cuz he didn’t have a cape and he wasn’t a robot.

I really want the 5th film to have Buzz be the other Utility Belt Buzz. I mean We saw Zurg was taken to the daycare center in 3 with no Buzz #2 around, and it makes you wonder what and where he was doing ever since then. Also, it would make sense if he became a lost toy after the second film, living his own adventure. That way you'd still get Buzz Lightyear tagging along with Woody but it wouldn't interfere or contradict the ending of the 4th film.

Zurg doesn't die, not in the movie at least. He survives the fall and becomes Utility Belt Buzz's father after he lost his memory from the fall. In the novelization of Toy Story 2 he actually does die though and Utility Belt Buzz takes his body away to be buried.
The jump buzz made was also from Star Wars

I don't care if its supposed to be a joke, I prefer Zurg being Buzz's father over him being an alternate evil version of himself. If they used the "I'm you from an alternate timeline." idea as a red herring and it turned out that he was his father all along, would have been a much better direction. As for why he had Buzz's dogtags would be a darker reveal of him murdering him in his own past and assuming his identity.
Just saying the first movie and this one are the only movies that exist. 3 & 4 suck.
Personally, I don’t have an qualms with the third movie, and I think it was an excellent way to conclude the story of Toy… Story. (LOL) The fourth movie, on the other hand? It has a LOT of problems, not to mention the characters are reduced to shells of their former selves from the original trilogy. So, that said, I like to pretend THAT one doesn’t exist, and that Woody and the gang are still having all the playtime in the world with Bonnie. 😂
How dare you? 3 is the perfect conclusion.
