    Gritshift has a big break kit with a 260mm rotor and an adapter to use Brembo P2 or P4 calipers. The same used on Ducati motorcycles.

    Do braided cables make a difference? I was told it helps dissipate brake line boil? I am experiencing extreme brake fade on the descent. Sometimes resulting in total loss of brake lever travel. It is a String R with 500 miles. Any thoughts? Thanks for your great video on brakes. Lots of work to put this content out.

    • @Talariaboys
      @Talariaboys  ปีที่แล้ว

      Braided theoretically is better but getting some high end brakes makes a massive difference and our trps are not braked and I don't feel like I need any better brakes.

  • @kmanboards
    @kmanboards ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How long has your pads lasted? So far I have 500 miles on my xXx and they squeak so much. Even after bedding them and re aligned them, it would seem that they are wearing quickly.

    • @Talariaboys
      @Talariaboys  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just because they are loud doesnt mean they are worn out, Brake pads just get loud sometimes or get contaminated with chain lube or other oils around and need to be taken out of the caliper and lightly sanded down and re bed in.

  • @oliversmole147
    @oliversmole147 ปีที่แล้ว

    The thing about thicker rotors cooling faster doesn’t really make sense. The surface area is the same and the mass is more so it will cool down slower. If you got aluminum foil red hot (idk if you can do that) but if you could it would be silver again as soon as you took the flame of it. But it you had a 4 inch cube of steel red hot it would stay red for a few minutes at least

    • @oliversmole147
      @oliversmole147 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct me if im wrong

    • @Talariaboys
      @Talariaboys  ปีที่แล้ว

      I get your point but it is technically wrong. Its very easy to make very thin aluminum foil red hot but its very difficult and takes so much longer to get a 4 inch cude red hot. Without going in specifics a larger rotor takes way longer and a lot more heat to reach the point where it stops working well as a brake. That's the main point is to lengthen the time before your brakes overheat and stop working.

    I wanted to upgrade to the shimano saints with the xtr ice-tech rotors, but they only come in 203mm. I don't mind going from 220mm to 203mm, but I'm worried the rear rotor on the mx4 will rub since the stock is 2.2mm thick. Is there a way to upgrade/replace the rear rotor on the MX4? Luna cycle told me you cannot replace the rear rotor. This is the only thing holding me back or I'd get an entire brake set and both new rotors. Now since the stock rotor is 2.2mm, the only option would be the TRPs since they are made for 2.3mm rotors. Everything else would rub, like you mentioned its almost impossible to keep from rubbing. What rear rotor do you have currently on your MX4? or what do you plan on upgrading to? Any links? :)

    My 5 dollar break pads work fine, just would be ridicious paying for expensive break pads seeing how many I use

    I bought a front and rear hays dominion break kit do I need a spacer with the stag aura floating disk rotors? Im copying Lances part list. If anyone knows please let me know

      It just depends on what size rotors you ordered? 200? 220? Also what size rotors are currently on your bike? Sting R has 220 and mx3 has 200

      @@Talariaboys I have the talaria sting mx3 and I ordered the same break kits as Lances list so I have the Stag AURA'22 Floating Disc Rotor (Front & Rear Set) and a front and rear HAYES Dominion A4 brake kit I have default wheels and rotors and everything, I just ordered the Shinko SR 241 Trials Tires and Im unsure of what spacers to get because im very new to this ebike scene but I am very invested.
      Thank you :)

      Also do I need an upgraded chain? I got these break upgrades because I just got the chi titan max 72v battery and I have a ko pro controller so I want a fast stopping speed considering I have alot more power

    The brake pads on the MX4 are horrible. I have replaced them on the first day by Shimano ones. When you compare a motorbike to the MX4 the brakes at the Talaria are so bad, you wouldn’t go faster than 10 mp/h with them 🤣

      We do know why it helps but its hard to explain on camera to those who have very little understanding, we do our best.
