When I was window shopping, the Mudita was only a rumor. They had a solid reputation because of the previous device, but so did the Light Phone. The rumor had it that the Kompakt would be much more expensive (both than the Kickstarter and the announced non-Kickstarter price), so I went with the Light Phone. This announced price is very welcome. It looks like a good device, taking the Light Phone 2's eInk screen, adding smart phone capabilities, a bit of flair (well, if black, grey, and white are flair), and the fact that it is a De-Googled smart phone is (in my books) a big plus to it. It does combine what I will obtain with 2 seperate devices, in the Light Phone 3 and the Brax 3. And I would have saved some money in the process. I still have no remorse though! I do prefer the grey version too.
I'm almost tempted. I guess i will be watching the Minimal Phone progress. I would like to see a RTF editor and be able to transfer those to the computer or another device. Online banking is a big deal. The more I operate on slim margins the more I have to open my banking app. I wonder if the Maps program will let me lookup addresses by business name. 2025 is going to be a difficult shopping year of desired results versus reality. I otherwise like everything going on with this phone. I'm not writing it off yet.
According to their Kickstarter they ship to the following countries but are working on more: - European Union (EU): €10 - United Kingdom: €10 - Switzerland: €10 - Norway: €10 - Iceland: €10 - United States: €15 - Canada: €15 - Australia: €15 - New Zealand: €15
Big fan of sideloading apps being possible and bootloader unlocking available. Not having Google services AND still being able to get my messaging and eReader apps took me from being on the fence to backing as fast as I could! To each their own.
The side loading apps is a game changer. Most people need a specific app for communication that most phones don’t have. I was on the fence as well but they have won me over.

@@ReturningRetro you do realize what you are calling "supported" is being commented on by Mudita as "will void your warranty"?
This is something I think they need to clarify because in some responses to comments about this they say the warranty may be voided depending on the circumstance (such as a sideloaded app causing battery problems not being covered under warranty). But you make a good point, and when I used the term "supported" I meant "the company didn't lock this feature down." Updated the original comment!
Great video! I was going to “wait and see” but after watching Mudita’s and your videos today I jumped on the Ultra Early Bird option using your affiliate link! Although I wasn’t able to select between the Global or NA version, or the color - was it just me?
Thanks for using my link, it mens a lot. I think the color options choice comes later with the survey but I would leave a comment on the campaign page just to be safe. Also check the FAQ tab, maybe they’ve added a response for questions like these.
@@LauraMalvoyante You’re right! I e-mailed Mudita Support with the questions about phone version and color, and they replied: “After the campaign ends, we will be sending out a survey where you will be able to choose the version you'd like to receive.”
Nice video Laura, hope you are feeling better now :)
Thank you and yes I am finally better!
@@LauraMalvoyante Good glad to hear

Do you know if it will flip to landscape mode?
I'm not sure but I'm sure it will. Which apps it would work with is another question.
Love everything about it other than the how big the bezels are.
I wasn't expecting the bezels to be that large either to be honest but it's not a deal breaker for me.
'Side loading apps may void the warranty' - hum!
Are you aware of what specifically is different between the global vs the North American version?
I looked into the bands but I couldn’t see what’s specifically different TBH.
why do I have this in my feed?
Cause it's the internet. You can always not go online XD
Hey can you add chat gpt :v i think it will very helpfull and still not distract the owner
Yes you can side load apps with APKs
