@@argentodawg so before I was diagnosed, I used lsd, mda/mdma, shrooms and before all that I wss an opioid user, of which I have been clean from all of those things a long time. My first psychotic episode that I can confirm (there were things in my childhood I can't discuss here, probably been psychotoc my whole life but wasn't fully aware) was ten years ago on a stint with dilauded. I LOVED lsd, although it wasn't a regular thing. About 4 years ago I went through a really toxic relationship, followed by a really bad breakup. I started using NO2 with lsd and mdma and that is when the voices started. Before that, I would attend raves and concerts. Had a blast, but there were instances of me hearing people make fun of me, although my friends swore that wasn't happening. So I would say drugs made it WAY worse. I won't say don't use drugs, but I would say proceed with caution. Talk to a therapist first..
@@argentodawg i also have anger issues, have since childhood. I'm not a violent person, although I will use violence to protect myself. Others think I want to hurt them because of my issues...and I don't. I don't want to hurt anyone for the most part, maybe certain people who REALLY hurt me...that's what bothers me the most. I want a woman to be with so badly, and women just assume I am a creep because of my issues. I'm not, but it hurts to get used and cheated on...idk just sick of being and feeling so alone and afraid everywhere I go. So ya, drugs made it worse. And I DID notice last time I ate shrooms that the voices got WAY worse. Hope that helps. Don't make my mistakes.
Something that often makes me wonder is why in modern society, and especially fot young people , there is so much stress and pressure compare to 20 years ago. I think that this fact makes more and more people to suffer from a mental health condition and so I believe that society has to find ways to cope with that, for example the governments to make necessary changes to the educational system.

When I was little I was diagnosed with ASD Autism, it was back then rare for females to be diagnosed with autism even now even though it's a tad bit more known these days
It is absurd now that I think of it, the fact that we are just accepting and indulging in the use of applications that we know increase our chance of leaving us withouh any true will to live and motivation, while knowing perfectly well this is likely to happen. And we have only this life.
Hi Psych2go, I just wanten to say that OCD nowadays is largely not seen as an anxiety disorder anymore (including the DSM), since OCD doesn’t always have to be rooted in anxiety. But a great video nonetheless❤
I have been diagnosed with ADHD, OCD, ASD amd Anxiety disorder. I'm getting the help I need but I'm always miserable, I became emotionally numb/drained, I have a hard time asking people for help and when I struggle with something small I feel worthless. But I'm trying my best to get better little by little 😊
i have panic disorder and almost every time i have a panic attack i’m told i’m just being irrational and need to stop. i’ve been so conditioned throughout my childhood and early teens to think this that i even call myself stupid when i can’t keep myself from shutting down. i was told last week people only tell me that because they don’t understand what it’s like shutting down from pure fear in day-to-day life because of day-to-day life. the teacher that told me that helped me out a lot with just that truth, although what i stated isn’t exactly what he said. i hope he knows that
I was ten when i was diagnosed with depression. It wasnt until this last year that I found the term HSP which explained alot of the symptoms or tendancies that my doctor saw as just depression. Though I also have had run ins with major anxiety which led to OCD and eating issues. That being said, I would like to see more on the different eating dissorders.
I would like to know more about those lesser known eating disorders, because I suspect I might have one, but i don’t want to self-diagnose, especially since I already have such a fluctuating terrible relationship with food.
I wish there were more videos on social phobia. Not just social anxiety disorder, severe to where it is a phobia and how ugly it is. I’ve noticed it has similarities to agoraphobia.
You missed a very important point about ADHD. In America, boys are frequently labeled as having ADHD so they can be medicated so they behave in school, but it has been conclusively proven that the daily routine for growing boys is vastly different than it is for girls. Schools no longer have different activities for boys and girls, and the lack of will (or ability) for the school to properly discipline kids means they’d rather medicate a problem than implement the correct solution. Boys are naturally hyperactive and easily distracted. This isn’t ADHD…often all they need is more physical activity throughout the day and discipline.
Honestly, I'd love a video on lesser known eating disorders; At some point, my dad seemed so hyperfocused on food and exercised so much that I was kind of worried that he had one. Before that, he kind of had become scarily thin and me and my mom talked to him about it, but the hyperfocus on food intake always kind of stayed. And we couldn't really discuss it anymore without instantly getting into an argument with him. We eat pretty healthy food in my family, though; I kept a food diary for a while to figure out how I could maybe lose some pounds before I looked into exercises that could help, and I had to conclude that the food my mom cooked definitely wasn't the problem when I saw what I actually ate regularly... The facts just were the facts on that one; my mom served up some healthy stuff on a daily basis, in healthy portions. So in my head, I often called him a health nut, because he clearly was taking it too far (no joke, he'd go as far as to micromanage what type of rice should be on the plate, he was always shaming her on that one). But in that context, I couldn't help but worry about my dad a little. I mean, it definitely wasn't anorexia or bulimia (there might have been a bit of body dysmorphia involved, though), but something definitely seemed to be up at the time, and Google was no help on the matter. I've sadly had to go no contact with my dad for my own mental health (he didn't treat me and my mom too well), so I can't really help him anymore. But I would love to hear your take on the lesser known eating disorders so I can recognize it and maybe help others in the future.

HEY GOOD EVENING MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY, I MYSELF SUFFER FROM MENTAL ILLNESS I CAN RELATE TO THIS TOPIC 💯 PERCENT, SLEEP WELL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY. 💯🙏💙💪
I had a friend that had mood swings. Some days she would happy and socialize with me whilst other times, she would ghost me for long periods of time but then return to talk to me like nothing happened and then the cycle repeats. I was always really confused about this behavior. One day, we just stopped talking and she has ghosted me and had completely ignored my existence even though we were in the same school and had some classes together. We havent talked in over 3 years...I still really don't know what happened.
Anxiety and depression often accompany each other. I'm using books like "30 Days to Reduce Depression" by Harper Daniels and the Tao Te Ching for calming my mind.
I myself am sort of a narcissist… I don’t know how to say it but I’m a darker empath in ways. I’m extremely good at manipulating people and sometimes I don’t even notice that I’m doing it… I’m trying to understand myself better because I don’t have any disorders or anything but Psych2Go is really helping!
I want to hear more about gender dysphoria and how it’s often mistaken with other mental disorders like the ones mentioned in this video. Also, why therapists and psychiatrists are always misdiagnosing their patients with gender dysphoria when in fact they are suffering from other mental health problems.
This is a challenging topic to do because gender dysphoria has been politicized too much by the left wings and the right wings for many years. Therefore, it requires lots of time to research from both sides. If Psych2go decides to make a video about this topic, they have to be very careful or else they will be canceled from 🏳️⚧️ activists and right-wings activists as well.
I can relate to mental illness, not going to say which ones, however, I can perhaps discuss how broken I feel on account of a significant event that I have experienced? Fixing and healing means sometimes I have to speak up for myself when it feels like my soul is being tried by a high amount of stress. Yesterday, as it were, I finally spoke to my mother about how I horribly dislike the feeling that horror films bring about my body and soul. I don't know how people can find happiness breaking their self into smaller broken pieces.
There is no cure for most mental illnesses, but they can be treated effectively to help manage symptoms and improve quality of life. Treatments can include: Medications, Therapy, Lifestyle changes, Support groups, and Self-help plans.
*Addition:* Concerning the Autism-Spectrum Conditions (point 9), there are immature and/or ineffective therapies _galór_ that disappointed Steven E. Gutstein Ph.D. and Rachelle K. Sheely Ph.D. (Gutstein, Sheely & Associates PC, % The Connections Center for Relationship Development, Houston, TX, USA), thus the patenting o' the Relationship Development Intervention Program model defined in Steven E. Gutstein Ph.D., _Autism Asperger's: Solving the Relationship Puzzle: A New Developmental Program That Opens the Door to Lifelong Social and Emotional Growth_ (Arlington, TX, USA: Future Horizons, 2000). I've a short-term goal of registering for said Relationship Development Intervention Program as a Novice, after finding myself undertrained enough for the Activities listed in _Relationship Development Intervention With Young Children: Social and Emotional Development Activities for Asperger Syndrome, Autism, PDD and NLD_ (London, GBR: Jessica Kingsley, 2002): But I've no properly trained human resources within reasonable distance of Byron, CA, USA (the nearest current (as of January 2024) Connections Center for Relationship Development Certified RDI Consultant to East Contra Costa is in San Diego County (CA, USA), an impracticable distance), so the Relationship Development Assessment will have to wait.
I recently got diagnosed with adjustment disorder with mixed depression and unspecified anxiety with trait of Borderline personality traits. I don’t know what that means exactly
Autism is not one overall overarching condition. It is definitely a certain type of character and personality. But too many of us are not mentally ill at all. The community of the autistic who identify as being mentally disabled and disordered due to their autistic natures is just that. Usually it's due to growing up alienated and with a skewered or unable pattern of maturity. So bits of you grow up when others don't. You do not mature and evolve in all your inner resects, in a uniform way. This leads to problems. Then you just plain get overwhelmed by anxiety and OCD or ADHD gets diagnosed when those forces inside you do not have to be manifest in a disabling way. In fact obsessional behaviour can be channelled in a positive sense, and Hyperactivity can be a positive and sustaining experience. But films like this ONLY think in terms of negativity. By all means make biased films like this in which the world consists only of the healthy and the ill. Where definable conditions can only be seen as negative. But in fact, and I can testify to this, they also have an entirely neutral and even positive side to them. Autism is often referred to in (mainly American) films or articles like this due to strong biases and actual politics around the term autism. Self loathing autistics and the parents of mentally disabled children who qualify for autism diagnosis (ever met any children with mental health issues who do not end up subscribed to the term autism? It has absorbed all childhood conditions so much that people are not trying to differentiate away now. See the new Diagnostic Service Manual and what it says about 'autism'.

Is overthinking a mental disorder? I don't know if i have it or not, but sometimes i notice that i overly react to something to the point of breaking me. For example, when someone says something about me like i should stop looking for partners and focus more of myself, even though its clearly harmless and practically a good advice, i ended up crying a couple of hours later because i keep thinking im not good enough and its unfair and so on. Like the conversation is not where im being insult or anything its just a normal conversation. But it hurt so much after i keep thinking about it and it last days after that. Can someone explain what im going through please.

@@argentodawg i was an addict for a long time, these are the consequences of my decisions
I've been living with severe OCD (I am diagnosed) as well as other mental illness/disorders all my life. lemme tell you. what the media says about OCD is soooo wrong. My entire life has pretty much been wrecked by this horrible disorder. my brain constantly tortures me its a living hell. I'm so sorry for anyone else who is going through this or other disorders. love y'all 💙
Thank you for the help! You always make me learn something new and something new about myself :)
You’ve helped many people so I just want to say thank you ❤️❤️❤️
When I was little I was diagnosed with ASD Autism, it was back then rare for females to be diagnosed with autism even now even though it's a tad bit more known these days
Kinda relatable when you have friends who suffering mental illness
And yourself
It’s growing rapidly with social media at the helm
okay👍
Kinda relatable when you are suffering mental illness
You seem to care a lot about your friends 😢
But I'm trying my best to get better little by little 😊
Yess, let us know more about the psychotic disorders please! I love so much this videos and your channel. ❤
A great video that contributes to spreading awareness, I also hope that you talk about psychotic disorders and eating disorders
I have dealt with social anxiety but now I’m much much better with the help of medication and therapy 😊
I deal with that as well
Very informative break down of the different mental illnesses. I know of all, didn't know the all symptoms of each mental illness
Its very relaxing watching those kind of videos when you are not affected by anything.
Thank you for your hard work!! I love your videos! ❤❤
The Lead Attorney is funny as hell; intelligent too!!!
i have panic disorder and almost every time i have a panic attack i’m told i’m just being irrational and need to stop. i’ve been so conditioned throughout my childhood and early teens to think this that i even call myself stupid when i can’t keep myself from shutting down.
i was told last week people only tell me that because they don’t understand what it’s like shutting down from pure fear in day-to-day life because of day-to-day life. the teacher that told me that helped me out a lot with just that truth, although what i stated isn’t exactly what he said. i hope he knows that
I was ten when i was diagnosed with depression. It wasnt until this last year that I found the term HSP which explained alot of the symptoms or tendancies that my doctor saw as just depression. Though I also have had run ins with major anxiety which led to OCD and eating issues.
That being said, I would like to see more on the different eating dissorders.
how are you now?
I would like to know more about those lesser known eating disorders, because I suspect I might have one, but i don’t want to self-diagnose, especially since I already have such a fluctuating terrible relationship with food.
Autism isn't an illness and ADHD isn't an illness. But it doesn't mean it can be in your way😔
I wish there were more videos on social phobia. Not just social anxiety disorder, severe to where it is a phobia and how ugly it is.
I’ve noticed it has similarities to agoraphobia.
I'm really interested in learning more about all of these in more detail, I find it very interesting to learn about things like this
Certified Gold!!!!!!
I'd love to know more about schizotypal personality disorder and about psychotic disorders!😊
That’s not a point at all ..
Not me falling within the “ptsd, anxiety disorder, depression” box and my partner in the “autism, adhd” box. Mental health is no joke
what did you get ptsd from?
I am a combination of ADHD, Anxiety,OCD and Eating disorder in addition to having high blood pressure..... There's a lot of work for me ahead 😔
9:32 I swear, that ship-in-a-bottle at first glance looked like a TH-cam Play Button.
This is much needed info, thanks for educating so many!
guhh,,, i remember i used to watch this channel to learn more about mental health when it was a special interest of mine

I Don't Know If I Have An Anxiety Disorder, But I Do Have _Horrible_ Anxiety That Makes Me Cry And Panic Quite Often.
I'm Getting Better, Especially Now That I No Longer Have To Be In A School Building. I'm Online Now!!
I have diagnosed OCD and i never knew it was a type of anxiety! Thank u for teaching me this. My brother and sister have adhd and our stepdad always calls us out for our illness in a derogatory way and it rly sucks, but what can you do? 🤷♂️
I have CPTSD. I'd really like to know more about psychotic breaks, there are occasions when I wonder if what I'm experiencing is closer to psychosis.
I had my diagnosed of being in the autism in my late 20s. I have depression, anxiety, cptsd and BPD.
Love your videos (my dad does too! Helps him find out his BPD!!)
Very good episode. I feel personally that antisocial personality disorder should be on the list as well as a mental illness.
Thanks for very useful and valuable information video ❤❤❤
GAD destroyed my life
Severe anxiety is a daily living hell 😱
I want to here more about avoidant personality disorder
Excellent video, very informative.
I know I haven’t a diagnosis but my anxiety around food really does make me so scared over everything I eat…
Hoping to hear more about bipolar disorder.
I want to hear more about gender dysphoria and how it’s often mistaken with other mental disorders like the ones mentioned in this video. Also, why therapists and psychiatrists are always misdiagnosing their patients with gender dysphoria when in fact they are suffering from other mental health problems.
Cool topic!
The only reason gender dysphoria isn’t considered a mental illness is because it hurts people’s feelings, not because it doesn’t qualify as one
I agree
I can relate to mental illness, not going to say which ones, however, I can perhaps discuss how broken I feel on account of a significant event that I have experienced?
Fixing and healing means sometimes I have to speak up for myself when it feels like my soul is being tried by a high amount of stress.
Yesterday, as it were, I finally spoke to my mother about how I horribly dislike the feeling that horror films bring about my body and soul. I don't know how people can find happiness breaking their self into smaller broken pieces.
I hate horror films. I don't think those are a "normal" entertainment venue.
I would like to see a video distinguishing disordered eating vs actually having an eating disorder
There is no cure for most mental illnesses, but they can be treated effectively to help manage symptoms and improve quality of life. Treatments can include: Medications, Therapy, Lifestyle changes, Support groups, and Self-help plans.
Your videos are always so interesting ❤❤❤
I would like to see a video about the less common eating disorders please!

Nice video! Now I’m curious about the other versions of psychosis
I'm suffering from depression myself it's one of my biggest demons
I show almost all the signs of ASD and ADHD but my parents don’t think I have them
Bi polar 2, depression, and anxiety is a really fun combo
I recently got diagnosed with adjustment disorder with mixed depression and unspecified anxiety with trait of Borderline personality traits. I don’t know what that means exactly
Cover the topic next on 10 rare mental illnesses.
More about eating disorders please! Recently I have been addicted to looking at my weight and trying to not eat for days on end just to not eat but then eating too much all at once and then feeling guilty about it. Is that an eating disorder??
Interesting video. I love learning about this topic. Personally I suffer from Social Anxiety, ADD, ASD, Depression and PTSD. It's a lot amd I'm glad theres treatment

I never realized autism was considered a mental disorder I thought is was just considered a genetic disorder
@lukepapkee1047 what do you mean?
its a neurodevelopmental disorder
it’s a developmental disorder so i don’t know why they called it a mental illness
What are the other psychotic disorders ? Please do a video on that
Is overthinking a mental disorder? I don't know if i have it or not, but sometimes i notice that i overly react to something to the point of breaking me.
For example, when someone says something about me like i should stop looking for partners and focus more of myself, even though its clearly harmless and practically a good advice, i ended up crying a couple of hours later because i keep thinking im not good enough and its unfair and so on.
Like the conversation is not where im being insult or anything its just a normal conversation. But it hurt so much after i keep thinking about it and it last days after that. Can someone explain what im going through please.
This was excellent.
Could you please do a piece on DID, or dissociative identity disorder?
Also, adults who occasionally revert to babyhood, such as using pacifiers and wearing diapers, to correct, or do-over, traumatic childhoods.
By the way.... I think that it would be better if you'd differentiate Schizophrenia from Delusional Disorder and (impossible) periodic addiction gives the sense of being controlled by a higher power.
All of them.
