- Queen Elizabeth attended the Order of the Garter service at Windsor Castle.
Other members of the British Royal Family joined the Queen including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Cornwall.
The King and Queen of Spain and the King and Queen of the Netherlands were also guests at the ceremony.

This is my favorite ceremonial costume of all the British traditions. I remember when Elizabeth was crowned in 1953, and I'm happy she's still on the throne.

When the Queen was their age she was more beautiful than them and her sister Princess Margaret was even more beautiful than her. Princess Margaret was movie star beautiful.

I'm really surprised that the queen can still walk in high heels at her age!
What made ME nervous were those little boys carrying the train of her garter robe. At 93, if one of those kids tripped or fell or accidentally pulled back or something, the Queen could fall and hit her head or break a hip.
She’s not wearing high heels - a very modest heel instead!

@@lemorab1 Well, that'd good to know. Since my original comment, my aunt fell fell in the bathroom and broke her hip. My uncle thinks she hit her head on a metal garbage can because her mind went loopy afterwards. She went into hospital then a rehab clinic but within a month, her heart went out of whack and she just died 2 weeks ago. She was perfectly healthy beforehand. And she was only 81 whereas the Queen is now 95!

Letizia has been up to the mark since she married. She is not "nice" or all smiles like Kate but she is fit for her role. There are routines and a family life at the Zarzuela Palace since they married. And she has to be like she is, drawing the lines and setting rules, to keep the Borbones in check. She is a middle class woman with down to earth views, just what the doctor ordered for our royals.

All the royalty of Europe are connected in some form. However In Britain, catholics are not allowed near the throne for obvious historical reasons, but can be actual members of royal family.
On these occasions royalty of all nations, including those on the throne, and those with vacant thrones mix freely together
The 'ol girl at 2:45 tickled me with her head bobbing around not to miss anything. She appeared just so happy to be there, besides the Royals being eye catching, out of all the backdrop people this woman made the video to me 🙂

Kandy Kandy Actually it is heavy. It is silk velvet with a long train. It is heavy. The robe needs about 20 yards of thick fabric. Having had the opportunity to try on something similar I can vouch for it.

I noticed the little changes for her comfort like driving down and not walking, the handrail up the steps and the little contraption to help her into the carriage. There is a door on the south side, which avoids the steps, so maybe next time she will use that.
