I grew up as an only child in a two income household and sharing with others took me so long to learn, after years of therapy and self reflection because I put in the work to become a better person. But the majority of these people don’t have self awareness, because that requires you to look inwards and accept your faults. They’re selfish and privileged and disguise it as being a nationalist or preserving the “right” values, at the cost of the minorities and the less fortunate.

And those right wing reactionary groups are far more organised than any left wing group currently is.
I'm not saying we COULDN'T create a left wing militia
But there's the added fact that political and social will leans right of centre, if not completely right, so a left wing group trying to take over would be far more demonised than any right wing group ever is.
The right wing have people like Ben Shapiro and Fox news motivated by the money of the rich to demonise left wing people just for existing, trans people are the subject of constant scrutiny, and they have done nothing.
If left wing people tried to do anything, it would escalate from infantalism and belittling to actually getting assaulted in the street.

Thank you for this excellent video. Before Trump was elected, I warned my friends and co-workers that Trump and his supporters were Fascist. I know they considered me to be an alarmist or just plain crazy to say such a thing. While I am happy that a majority of Americans voted Trump out of office, the huge number of people who blindly support Trump terrifies me. I fear for the future of this nation. I am a 69 yo, gay, white male, who volunteered to serve in the US army, in 1972. I love this country, but fear I may need to move to Canada or another country, in the future. I now understand what happened in Germany in the 1930s. My fear is we've already traveled too far down the road to a nationalist / fascist nation; and that only violence, civil war, or international war, will stop or reverse this. I really appreciate how well made this video is. I wish more people would watch it.

@@creativerealms Theoretically yes, but historically centrists always capitulate to fascists as they start shifting the parameters of what is acceptable political discouse. Conceptually as well, as centrism itself is not a theoretical framework through which to see the world, nor does it possess any specific ideological underpinnings of its own. It is only characterized by taking the "middling" stance (whatever that might be; what is the middle point re: slavery, for instance?), and is therefore prone to being swayed in another major way. Another major flaw is centrists tend to only concern themselves with hard policy to the exclusion of everything else, and that is def a point fascists like to lean in on.

The rise of Donald Trump has been a patently terrifying experience. I don't live in America, but I live in Canada, heavily influenced by American politics, and the rise in the sort of nationalist, "take back our land" rhetoric has been incredibly disturbing. Particularly when it's not just the fringe, but the second largest party just adopted the slogan "Take Back Canada!" From who, they never really say. But most everyone can read between the lines, and those so inclined can insert their own chosen enemy. Leftism, SJWs, Indigenous Activists, whatever. We even have the anti-mask protesters, conspiracy theorists, and Qanon types.
Donald Trump's influence goes far beyond America, and that influence is only allowed to grow the longer we treat it like just 'gross politics' and refuse to call that influence what it is.

Horrifying revelations here, but the truth hurts. People need to learn how dangerous these guys really are.

My car got vandalized for having an anti-fascist bumper sticker. I was naive and didnt really think we lived in times like that.

That "unmarked car" video...that was haunting. Where was that woman taken? Was she returned safely? Please say she was...

I live in downtown Portland, and I've marched a couple of times. It's spooky being able to recognize a lot of the footage that you used.

Great video as always. So many common things with india. It's scary. ultranationalism , ingroup vs out group. Extreme form of traditionalism.
Hierarchical gender roles. Major sexism. Add Extreme religious people and you have a disaster.
