Do you ever have an issue with fx trimmers snagging skin pimples under chin, sideburns area? No matter what blade I switch to or zero gap or not in snagging always
What about the TPOB X trimmer ? I brought that few months ago and I put a Babyliss blade on it and it’s an epic trimmer. It’s very comfortable in the hand with a metal body. The battery life is 4 hours, runs at 7200rpm and only cost me £109 that’s $138.89 well worth the price. I highly recommend the trimmer. That’s coming from someone who has the saber, gamma hitter , Babyliss FX , andis slimline & Wahl trimmers 😊
In the future you have to add a category for "designs" for trimmers. Obviously the wider the blade the less it may be useful to most design work outside of simple line/part work. IMO the Saber might have hit the highest stars in that category.
I agree I am patiently waiting on a new blade. I tried everything to get this one to hit well, and I know these trimmers will be great once they get that situated.

Eddie and Cuts by Reggie are not allowed to review TPOB products because Stylecraft won’t let them. They won’t tell you that point blank, but it’s a fact. The politics of these reviews, reviewers, and these companies is pretty nuts. This rating system is set up to favor Stylecraft because of all the goodies in the box, not the physical device itself. I respected & agreed with most of what you said in this video. The second you dismissed the Flex from grading it, you immediately lost me. The Flex is literally the best trimmer on the market. I've used it since it came out. I've been comparing it to everything that comes out & the flex smashes everything. I'm hoping one you fine men can help a brother out... lol So I've been using the Andis T-outiner for for like 10 years now as I'm basically bald so I use it to shave my head because don't like shaving it with an actual razor. I use the Andis T-outliner, then go over it again with the Andis foiler to get as close to scalp as possible. I've been having problems with the Andis T-outliner lately as it's just not hitting. Tried changing the blades, adjusting tension screw, yada...yada...yada. I've finally decided get with times and try something new. Looking for the best trimmer in terms of how close it will shave to bald me up, and low maintenance. I don't care how it looks, feels, how loud it is, or how long it's holds a charge. Don't care even care if it's cordless or not, as it's just for personal use. I don't understand what some of the ratings in this video mean like "bulk" or "fading and trimming'. Try adjusting the mounting screws on the back of the blade. Loosen/tighten them. Also try applying lots of oil on the blades and wiping off any excess. It's a magnetic motor, so it can act funny sometimes. Just like it happened to mine as well as my masters. One small change in the tension of the screws/blades can set it off.
@@TH-camBarberAcademy it can be argued as TPOB grows they will drive prices down. They are a huge value for the $ They come with USB C and Dock charger XO and Psycho blades are among the best in the industry. A lot of your made in China “premium “ brands are made in the same white label manufacturing facilities 🤷🏻♂️
All of these will work great for that. I would consider getting a flex from SC pretty inexpensive. It’s linked below, and it will work great for both body grooming, or haircutting.
The babyliss always cut from one end, so I bought a saber trimmer and so far I like it, but my babyliss are good I just need to be adjusting every time
Amazing reviews on the trimmers! I have a question my babyliss pro fx gold keep getting stuck and cutting on my neck even with the original blade on it and replaced. What trimmer you recommend for me ?
I got an absolute action trimmer but it snags on my hair pretty often. I’m thinking the motor just isn’t powerful enough but I like the stand. Any recommendations
Nice video! Im looking for something that will make the sharpest lines, designs that have good battery life, which ones would you advice? I was thinking of the 1st or second saber brand you show
Good content.... I can get indecisive and tryna figure out the right trimmer is frustrating i want the sabers ,wish the instincts weren't so loud. But for some reason what i really would like to see is the performance of the x pro blade on the slime line pro. Of i had the tech or ability to create a bracket for it i definitely would.ake it to satisfy my curiosity, any suggestions?
@@pauljudah1235 no not really I think they both hit great. If anything, the stainless one from the cyborg seems like it might be a little more gentle for me, but that could just be me.
Hi Eddie !I own a detailer gold edition ,and the points that you showed up are the same that made seek for a new one.I bought it brand new and I thought that my blades were faulty 😅.So after all of this ,I’ll go for a Saber, cause I work in a quiet place so the instinct gonna be to much .THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO AND YOU’VE A NEW SUBSCRIBER HERE 😊.
Cool I was looking forward to this video. Long comment ahead. Just a minor thing but the hi viz run time is actually 135 minutes (2 hrs 15 minutes). About the cam follower cover question…. No I never remove that. It has it on the TPOB ghost x trimmer and I wouldn’t want to take it off bc it will allow hair inside and make cleaning it that much harder. I got the hi viz a few weeks ago and thought it was great but lately I’ve noticed it doesn’t glide across my skin anymore like it used to. It drags and idk what to do. It’s not fun trying to line up your beard when it’s not gliding smoothly on the skin. I feel like maybe the gold titanium coated blades on some other models are generally smoother whereas I’ve found black blades to drag. Even the TPOB X feels like it’s dragging on me now. Cleaned it and oiled it etc. and still drags. I’m testing out 7 trimmers right now including almost all the ones in your video and it’s hard for me to pick just 1 so I may have to pick 2. I’m testing the babyliss fx 3 (red), gold fx, wahl: hi viz - cordless detailer in both gold and silver, TPOB X and TPOB ghost X, and saber. I have the red fx3 which comes with a gold blade unlike the black one which comes with the black blade. I’m a bald person who always used the wahl 5 star balding clipper (which isn’t cordless) for years but after discovering all of these trimmers I’ve found a new tool for shaving my head and beard which has been a nice improvement for my own personal upkeep at home. I didn’t think trimmers could be so good. The fx3 blade is super comfortable on the head it just glides smoothly yet its sharp n cuts closely; and I didn’t adjust the blade it’s straight out of the box. I think u should have done TPOB as well bc all of these trimmers including TPOB, they all basically use the same blade design (except wahl) and TPOB just so happens to sell their trimmers for cheaper than the competition. This is why for me I like the hi viz so much because it’s got the smaller thinnest blade and allows me to be super precise. For first place for my beard trimmer I’m having a tough time deciding equally between the hi viz, saber and TPOB X. They’re all great. It’s probably going to come down to Christmas sales and getting the best deal. I’m going to be keeping the FX3 as my dedicated head shaver and probably body grooming too bc I’m super impressed by how smooth yet sharp the blade is. It might even be one of the best beard trimmers I’ve tested on this list. As for your top 5, I was surprised to see you put the wahl cordless detailer above the hi viz. I don’t think the Detailer is necessarily bad I just dont like that it’s plastic and the blade is nowhere near as precise as the hi viz. like you said, the body of the hi viz is really great. It’s all metal and compact, knurled for better grip and it’s got all those contours. The cordless detailer is just like a fat loaf of bread. Can’t see too great with it. Plus it’s a thicker blade that doesn’t allow me to be as precise around the moustache and beard line as I can with the hi viz. Thanks for the video! Off topic: I’m also testing out the wahl hot lather machine. I’m not a barber this is just for my own personal shaving needs. You should do a video on the wahl hot lather machine. I think it’s super over priced and feels like a plastic toy. It does a decent job but you can tell they cut corners trying to use as cheap materials as possible so they can sell it for as much as possible. The only metal it contains is in the cup holder lining which houses the shaving cream pump. The shaving lather is also super thin and watery. You need to pump a lot onto the skin otherwise it quickly dissolves away. The heat is a nice touch though. But idk if I will keep it. I thought it would give me a closer shave and it does but like I said I’m not happy with the price and how cheap and plastic-y it is. A product like that should have metal components especially for keeping the cream hotter. Like why would they cheap out and make it all plastic… I’m pretty sure if someone wanted to keep their coffee hot, for example, they’d use a metal container over a plastic one. Anyways it takes 50 min to warm up which is fine but after it warms up it’s supposed to show a steady blue light but the light doesn’t stay steady! It keeps changing from red (warming up) to blue (warmed up). I saw another TH-camr say the same thing. I don’t think it’s defective. I think it’s bc of the cheap materials they used (plastic instead of metal). Stylecraft, TPOB, babyliss need to make a superior hot lather machine and take that market share from wahl. The wahl one is an overpriced plastic toy. Easy opportunity for one of these companies to put wahl in their place and show them how a proper lather machine should be made. So maybe for a future video you could compare the wahl lather machine against the LatherKing and whatever else you can find. Thanks!
Just want to start by saying I love your videos. Really good and very informative! Thanks! 🙏 I am struggling to make my mind up on what trimmer to buy and kind of hoped you could could give me your 5 pence 😬 Seems I am not alone looking for answers to this, so might benefit others as well. I am a "home user" looking for a trimmer that can do my beard with 3-6mm plus lines... so would not mind zero gapping possibility. I would however also want to use the same trimmer for my head with maybe 1-3mm lenght. I am kind of set on Babyliss for some reason, but open to options! Which trimmer would you suggest for this use? I guess I need a guide combs compaitble trimmer to manage the different lenghts? Price is not a main deciding factor, but naturally USD 150 is better than USD 300 😃
I'm looking for something to replace a Phillips OneBlade as an all in one DIY head shaver/beard trimmer with a decent variety of comb lengths. I don't like the razor close shave on my head, or foil or rotary close for that matter, and I have pretty irritable skin so something that is relatively gentle and doesn't run hot would be great. Would any of these serve my purpose well? I'm not particularly concerned about price.
For my work I have to shave weekly and my skin easy to get irritated so I use trimmer zero gap to rest my skin which one could be best for this job regardless the budget ?
IMO, balding works best turning the trimmers upside down so you're debulking with the back of the blade instead of the teeth...little to virtually no stalling or snagging.
series 9 gets reasonably close I would say maybe about five hours difference lol the amount of time it would take your hair to grow in five hours would probably leave you about the same length as the Braun series 9 compared to the FX three
Personally I use a flamethrower.

It's a magnetic motor, so it can act funny sometimes. Just like it happened to mine as well as my masters. One small change in the tension of the screws/blades can set it off.
What’s the trimmer used on your forearm at the beginning of the video?
These guys have it out for TPOB 😂😂
Lol nobody cares about the Amazon brands what do they do for the industry ?
@@TH-camBarberAcademy it can be argued as TPOB grows they will drive prices down.
They are a huge value for the $
They come with USB C and Dock charger
XO and Psycho blades are among the best in the industry.
A lot of your made in China “premium “ brands are made in the same white label manufacturing facilities 🤷🏻♂️
Saber all the way to the bank 🏦 baby for both clipper and trimmer combos😊
Any recommendations for home use (beard work)?
Thanks
All of these will work great for that. I would consider getting a flex from SC pretty inexpensive. It’s linked below, and it will work great for both body grooming, or haircutting.
The babyliss always cut from one end, so I bought a saber trimmer and so far I like it, but my babyliss are good I just need to be adjusting every time
I thought it was just me !! Have a wahl detailer with a bad blade just thought the machine was terrible
Great review just got the cyborg clipper now I have to get the trimmer
Eddie have u noticed any difference between the gold x pro blade and the black one or do they hit the same. I heard gold hits better
@@pauljudah1235 no not really I think they both hit great. If anything, the stainless one from the cyborg seems like it might be a little more gentle for me, but that could just be me.
@@TH-camBarberAcademy ty so much for responding
Hi Eddie !I own a detailer gold edition ,and the points that you showed up are the same that made seek for a new one.I bought it brand new and I thought that my blades were faulty 😅.So after all of this ,I’ll go for a Saber, cause I work in a quiet place so the instinct gonna be to much .THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO AND YOU’VE A NEW SUBSCRIBER HERE 😊.
Thanks man!
Great Job!
Thanks!
Can I fit guards onto SC Sabre or Gamma Cyborg trimmers ?
If so which ones will work best
Thanks !
Which one in your opinion is the best for balding your entire head besides the body grooming your mentioned?
Thanks!
Love your work man.
Thanks man
I know it's been a while since this video came out, just looking for a trimmer for home grooming. The FX3 is about $90 now, that a good choice?
Just want to start by saying I love your videos. Really good and very informative! Thanks! 🙏
I am struggling to make my mind up on what trimmer to buy and kind of hoped you could could give me your 5 pence 😬 Seems I am not alone looking for answers to this, so might benefit others as well.
@@grantjackson3027 check out the style craft beard blender. Think you will really like it.
Bro the cyborg is like the saber but with a much nicer button and heavy feel it has to be 1st
I gotta agree with you it’s just the hour less of battery so line by line it’s going to fall by one star
🔥💈🔥 thanks
What about a model stylecraft precision saber recommend?
This was out before that was released, but I should do a video at least a short on the precision saber
Where can I get the full black magic clip that’s clean
What happened to the stylecraft flex?
Are any of these water proof ?
For my work I have to shave weekly and my skin easy to get irritated so I use trimmer zero gap to rest my skin which one could be best for this job regardless the budget ?
IMO, balding works best turning the trimmers upside down so you're debulking with the back of the blade instead of the teeth...little to virtually no stalling or snagging.
I love Saber’s - perfect machine
great video
What would be a budget friendly trimmer that can compete that you would trust and recommend?
i want to ask about jrl onyx trimmer is better than the jrl 2020T?
How good are the hitters with the one blade for self cuts at home
I dig with trimmers
Cual seria la mejor para hacer freestyle o diseños?
Wahl detailers
What are the best trimmers out of box without snagging??
Wahl
Sc heats up so quick like 20 seconds its very hot
Dropped the comment! Smashed the like 👍🏼
Thanks my friend !!
Hey i'm looking for a trimmer to shave my head, so I can avoid using an electric shaver if possible.
Babyliss fx3 are killer at bald heads
Hi, what about Brio Bearscape V2 with the zero blade ? It seems to be in top position for a lot of barbers.
Why not use detachables for de bulk would save your edger and would stay sharper longer
Options 🔥
Great work hello from Canada... but go Steelers
Weird question, do you think that the guts from the Detailer would fit into the Hi-Viz?? I always put the guts from seniors into my all metal seniors.
TPOB X trimmer missing
Just got my gtx exo for home use i put my old t outliner blade on it. I thought i would like the deep tooth blade but nope.
Eddie could you tell me in terms of closness how does the braun series 9 compare to the fx 2and fx 3?
series 9 gets reasonably close I would say maybe about five hours difference lol the amount of time it would take your hair to grow in five hours would probably leave you about the same length as the Braun series 9 compared to the FX three
@@TH-camBarberAcademy I am a little confused, just to be sure what you mean is it’s almost the same?
Great video as always buddy so informative for anyone who’s looking at getting a trimmer. For me SABER or Flex 👍🏻 #eddiesarmy
Right on!
