Ngl, nowadays, in some phones the stabilization is INCREDIBLE. Something you'd have to use a glidecam/gimbal for with other systems. I mean, consider the inertia for a tiny phone compared to a heavier DSLR, or even cinema camera.
But my uneducated guess is that this was shot on a higher focal length, thus most probably not a smartphone, because of the background compression we have -- so probably a gimbal or glidecam

@@TheSeriousAnalysist Gas builds up when things rot. Just like a bag of food that goes bad (like salad in a bag). You'll see the bag fill up more and more with gas from the food.
If you were wondering why this happened: when whales die excessive amounts of gas build up inside the whale’s corpse and sometimes the gas build up is too much for the corpse to handle and the corpse explodes. (Not in the traditional way, technically the skin is just being expanded to the point where it rips open and everything spills out)
So the whale was already dead?
Edit: Ok I get it, no need to keep replying
Um. Just so you know. This will happen to any living animal and human, not just whales and that's because of natural bacteria build up as the body decomposes, it creates gases which bloats that of which is dead causing whatever is dead for sometime to expand and rupture, look at any road kill you come across when driving, such as a racoon if ever you've wondered why they look so bloaty, that's why and when they bust, it smells horrendous, I can't imagine what smells this whale caused.
The fact that this was caught on camera is so incredible, a natural phenomenon that’s so rare to see and now we have a documented record of it
Some people may be thinking how did the whale explode. Well here’s how:-
Any whale which dies and inside their body starts having gass and after a few minutes after the whale has the maximum amount of gass in its body it becomes fat I mean it’s body starts flowing a little bit then it explodes. So it’s a kind of normal thing if a whale DIES not when it’s alive.

“Officer i swear i didn’t eat the explosives”
What a strange thing to pop up in the algorithm. See you guys in 10 years.
FYI: if you ever see a dead whale somewhere, whether it be on land or water, get away from it as fast as possible. Don’t touch it, don’t get closer to it, sprint/dive under water if you have to. If you see a whales corpse on land, it can explode in a large radius, which means if you are about 2-8 feet away from it, you can get splattered, or possibly injured from the guts. Also just in case, pinch your nose because the smell is horrible
Edit: since a lot of people are asking, the reason why a dead whale explodes is because of the rush of build up of gas inside the whale. The gas-called methane-can also harm the human body if you inhale it for long periods of time, leading to death if you aren’t careful. Another thing is that I learned this from Casual Geographic! If you don’t like nature docs or videos, highly recommend him bc he makes animal educational videos funny and entertaining. If you watch the video of him explaining why dead whales explode, you’ll possibly encounter the whale explosion 1970 incident (kinda weird, but highly recommend researching it as well because it’s really weird that this was allowed)
Imagine a world where even tho it's a smelly dead animal ppl would want to get that close to it smh

The Camera man was truly a chad for holding his vomit and keep recording the moment.
Those who eat seafood. Would they also be bothered by this? I thought they're already desensitized to all this.
So, for those curious:
This actually happens for a particular reason. See, most creatures have muscle and skin that is thin enough to rot away after a time, letting any built up gases inside the body to easily filter out without issue. For whales, it's different. So many factors account for the prolonging of it's skin and muscle tissue (including it's thickness, as well as how cold the water is, as cold can preserve a carcass). This means that as it decays inside the body, all that excess gas builds up, until... Well... Pop.
That's why dead beached whales can be dangerous, and are often quardoned off. Those things are basically bombs waiting to go off.
Nice, I was wondering when I was going to find a good explanation. You sir, are a treasure
How many minutes or hours or something til the whale do that when they just died?
all the organs got out of there. It does look like a simulation in 3D though.
For those who dont know :
Vertabrate ( Animals with a spine ) carcasses are flexible and can hold in some amount of pressure, after a long time they build gases due to microorganisms decomposing their insides and releasing gases. eventually it builds up enough pressure to break the skin and the pressure forces its way out of the carcass. )
I was looking through all the compliments to the camera man as to why the whale's body did that..thanks....
Whale : *explode*
Shark : "I'm about to open a Mukbang channel"
Also there is these things called Whale falls and they’re super cool and interesting the whale sinks to the deep deep parts of the ocean and tons of crazy creepy looking types of fish and creatures eat it all in a community not harming each other very cool.
Imagine being on a boat and seeing giant organs floating on the water.
Imagine being in the water and seeing a whale fucking explode right before your eyes
On the head of others boats dont see thé explosion "attack of titans is real?!"
the size of their organs look like something straight from a cartoon
For all those who don't know: this most likely happened because the whale was deceased for a while. The gas inside of it kept building up and building up until boom, the corpse couldn't take it anymore
Edit: the cause of death could have been a few things: The most likely scenario is that this whale was beached, died, and then was washed back out to sea with enough gases in its corpse to keep it afloat. It could have also died from something internal, i.e. disease or old age. However, whales fall to the bottom of the sea when they die (commonly called a Whalefall), and are fed on by scavengers and other organisms. It would have to be intact enough to build up those gases and float back up.
Thank you for telling me i was searching for this bc all comments are talking about camera man and that made me so angry ffs
This can happen with dead humans as well. It’s why removing the internal organs was such a critical part of the ancient Egyptian mummification process.

Because it's a common thing that happens with dead whales.
But the footage of it is rare, especially of such quality, thanks to cameraman and his skill.
@@limonlx7182 do you know why they do that? I’ve actually never heard of this.
@@journiibee1429 When a dead whale accidentally gets washed up on a beach, it begins to decompose as it is not eaten up by sharks or other fishes. During decomposition, various gases like methane and carbon dioxide are produced within its body. But since there is a thick layer of blubber under the skin of whales, the gases cannot escape out. Thus, they begin to build up inside the whale's body, causing it to bloat.
Now, such gases are also produced in other animals after their death. But since the body of a whale is large, it produces more gases, thus increasing the pressure in its body. Eventually, due to the increased pressure, the accumulated gases, tissues, flesh, etc. forcefully come out through weak spots, thus creating an explosion.
Hence, it is always advised to not stand or sit on a dead whale because it might lead to increased pressure at weak spots, thus causing an explosion.
The whales are pretty much holding in a massive fart in death.
Thank you so much for explaining why that happened and stopped Mr thinking that they caused it
