They also like 3-12oz plain banana sinkers. Just put a split ring and a hook. I've been fishing Neah Bay and LA push since the 90's.

Not a Man of War Jordan. It’s a Pacific Sail Jelly or Purple Sailor or formally a Velella Velella. Always fun to see them. Fun fact is that their sails are directional. Great trip Sir. Keep up the hard work! :)

Ling is the best. Rockfish I usually make a batch of fish cake with. Also good for curry/soup/stew because it's firmer. But I'd rather eat the Ling all day!!
Greenling are as good as Ling as well, but smaller. Will keep large greenling over sebastes every time.

Ling cod have gnarly gill rakers. Not too safe to put your fingers in their gills either. Best way to pick them up is to squeeze them by their upper and lower lip.
