- Notorious Liverpool ex-gangster Darren Gee opens up about his horrific childhood, what led him into a life of crime & getting entangled in a gang feud which ultimately led to the murder of an innocent friend Craig Barker and the murder of another innocent man, David Regan.
Darren Gee also goes into his trial, what it was like facing a life sentence and his ultimate prison sentence. He then goes into detail about prison life & his experience with Islam within the prison system.
Darren Gee, now reformed, champions a movement called 'Choose A Life, Not A Kn!fe' (CALNAK) and has been aiming at helping reduce or eliminate crime on not only the streets of Liverpool, but in the whole UK and he has been actively promoting positive change in society by appearing on many podcasts such as Anything Goes With James English, The Central Club, Shaun Attwood & more.

Hard to sh*t on Darren when you actually listen to the man and the wild story of the experiences he’s seen and went through. I’ve always took a liking to the fella because he’s very real and has a way with his words that makes you want to listen more. Could listen to him talk all day because he’s very articulate with his words.

Its crazy how much abuse this lad gets from keyboard warriors, i cant stress enough how feared this man was back in the day, the whole of liverpool wanted none of him, if the system fails him to the point hes got nothing left, there are people who better pack a bag and go.

I think it’s pretty commendable the way Darren admits what he done and doesn’t make excuses, I think he was a young kid who was brought up in a bad childhood and was groomed by older dudes and ended up doing a crime that took over a decade of his life. R.I.P to the Victim.

His childhood stories are proper standard round Liverpool ngl
I know of nobody who had this treatment and I'm from Liverpool. It's not normal- is very sad and disturbing.
I’m from Australia but I’ve heard Liverpool is a really ghetto area of England. What is normal anyway, privileged isn’t “Normal” I think anyway.

Darren is a very intelligent and streetwise individual. My hat tilts to his bravery in exposing the evil on the streets, he does this at the risk of losing his own life. Absolutely amazing to see Darren come through what he has from his upbringing through to his years of crime and to see how he has turned his life completely around, should def be going into schools cause teenagers would def listen to someone like Darren who has led the life and can’t explain why crime isn’t the way to go etc.

Great podcast! Followed darren for a couple of years now, he is a very interesting person he speaks absolute sense, he is probably the only person that has me glued to a screen. He has a natural way nobody else does. Full of facts and very deep mindset
It's good your telling your life story. And what you've been doing to change your life around. They should let you go into the schools to speak your truth. As I believe this could help kids struggling.

I came across Darren Gee off a podcast and I never doubted his street wisdom,I doubted his ability to see IT being many things through and one of the many things was staying outta jail.
He’s proven me wrong not that that matters but in a way it does he’s living proof of a consistent approach to life anything is possible.
