Love all of this. The bass is more prominent for sure and FAMI does an amazing job bridging ASAMI's vocals, M&M leads as well staying lock-in with HARUNA. She crushed it. 🤘🐺🤘
and this is just Fami reprising a few of Myako's bass lines. Next album she gets to fully write her own grooves, should be beyond epic. I want to see Fami jump into the solo battle thing they do.
Judgement Day is epic! Fami fits right in. She brings so much more flexibility to this band. I hope she gets a solo at some point. Can't wait for the new album!
I had no doubt Fami would be more technical than Miho. Miho drove the engine with Haruna - Fami does that too, but also crosses over to guitars more than Miho did. I think everyone expected that. What an epic way to return from hiatus. Absolutely incredible musicianship, and the vocals may be the best I've ever heard Asami. This song is so well crafted. Mind blowing. This song takes my breath away. This is like the 7th time I've listened to this song.
Fami is a big league bass player...her tones are perfect...looking forward to not only the new album...but how she will play past material...total respect for Miho!!!
Fami is technical in a super creative way, with full emotion. She had to develop many abilities of a solo artist, for creating her home recordings. Else she would not have gathered a following. That J-Pop and gaming music stuff sure was difficult to rearrange with her intentional way of playing the bass. So she can arrange the metal songs as well, and add a strong contribution to this band. I am quite sure she created her bass lines herself, of course the band had their suggestions to meet as well.
The technical prowess of this band is still absolutely superb! Their powerful tempo and bombastic melodies just do not stop, it's full throttled all of the time. Love it!!🤘
The solo is long enough but I think you backed up and listened to it again like 3 or 4 times? LOL I totally udnerstand it though, I found this band through this very reaction and it's already my favorite band find for 2023 I'm sure. THANK YOU 🤘🏻
Fami is a wonderful addition to Lovebites She's bad ass. She added a new dimension to the sound. Turned out for the better, they up graded their lineup Fami has talent on loan from god
I refuse to get into the "better" debates. Miho is fantastic and brought a very classic Maiden vibe. Fami brings something different putting the Bass into a different role. Obviously we only have a sample of one song, but where Miho was a more traditional galloping rumble, Fami fills in the slightly differently in the mix, closer to the way Cliff Burton (obviously very different style, but both seem to live more in the guitar zone than traditional bass, tonally). Miho was great and created the band and brought us 3 fabulous albums. Fami is also great, and she is the future, that's the only thing that matters. All comparing them can do really (IMO) is create toxic discourse around both players. As for the song, I thoroughly love it, though TBH I don't feel it's among their more memorable solo battles (despite the length). It works, it's technically impressive as always, but the melody doesn't linger in my mind like a lot of other ones have. The bass is actually my favorite bit during the solo.
Totally agreed. It's natural to compare players and playing styles. But why does it always have to be in terms of "better" or "worse"? Why not in terms of "different"? Every player brings a different vibe and dynamic to a band. We can discuss this, by all means, but like you I find these "better" or "worse" debates quite tiresome. Technical prowess is important (especially in a band like Lovebites), but the level of technicality is by no means the only - or even the most important - aspect of what makes a musician great. I love Miho, and so far I also love Fami. Thanks to both of them for blessing us with great music!
Good points. But. I been here before when the bands I love growing up. Mostly I lost interest when they try something new. Music to keep me as a fan. After watching this. I got this feel again. But I wanna wait for full Album. F LOVEBITES is so Special to me. Its Hard right now. Love the build up song but I hate the bass slap style. Never care for it. Guess will see. Cheers
@@Gurra88 exactly. It's also funny that people confuse slap bass as some ultra technical technique. It isn't. It's super common in funk and other styles, just not common in rock/metal because often it doesn't fit (and TBH often bassists seem content to just keep the rhythm, like Par from Sabaton. Nothing wrong with that, but it's rare bass is as flashy as guitar, in rock). That doesn't detract from Fami. Clint Burton is worshipped as a bass god (and he's one of my influences) but his technicality was nothing special, if we're being honest. Neither is Steve Harris' (his finger stamina, like Miho's though? legendary). And Fami is no Jeroen Paul Thesseling or John Myung, nor does she need to be. She is a technical, talented player who has her own style that is fresh and adds a different/new element to Lovebites. And I'm happy she is here. What I'm less happy about is this sudden need people have to act like Miho wasn't good enough.. when she was absolutely good enough to build the band, lead them to three top notch LPs, etc. But now that she has left (and as far as I know no one outside their orbit knows the actual whys) she's being treated like the Lars Ulrich of bass players. It's rude, disrespectful and wrong, to a talented young women who has given us all many many hours of joy. All I can hope is that Fami likewise will contribute such, and that Lovebites and Miho both continue to find success and happiness in their now divergent paths.
What a great time to be alive.. these girls r getting better n better and its beyond amazing 🔥🔥🔥 yea of course with Fami as their new bassist that made it possible 🤘🏻
Watched the video of this track 10 times already. This is fricking awesome. The sound is so big. Amazing pro duction.looks like a 5 string bass she is playing. The video is top notch. The editing is as fast as the music. And that not she hits at the end. WOAA Brilliant musician's everyone of them They should be headlineing every metal festival there is.
I had the exact same thoughts Alan - how well would Fami integrate?, and then hearing/seeing her slap in this song with it seated back in the mix, any concerns I had were washed away. Not only that, but Haruna hitting that super crisp ride bell at the same time as Fami slapping was pure genius to give it balance! Lovebites are back, and I want a U. S. tour asap 😁.
Choosing Fami was basically a bet that they could evolve. She plays the bass like a lead instrument. You are right, they have leveled up, and given where they were already, that's just insane.
I presumed Fami would play in orthodox bass for the start but I was wrong, she just took off. But I was right presuming that Lovebites would go their new horizon with Fami. They proved it at the very first release of new Lovebites. They are in the new world.
My God the Power of the Vocalist This Band is Such a Unit also really Like the drummer isnt She also a founding Member of the Band ? She really Hits Em Hard.
Stunned again and again, and i like it! Fami fits the glove, hear that bass throughout the song. Really can't wait for the new album. Thanks again for the react. Love from the 🇵🇭. Rock on!
Fami's Bass reminds me of Steve harries of Iron Maiden - and THAT awesome solo by those fantastic ladies M and M....Don't forget about the solid drumming from Haruna she was awesome. Asami is Asami. Yes definitely No.1 song from Lovebites
Music asami and Mao, mild surprise. Definitely using Fami's skill. Liked this right off. Different but not different! Their look is great Haruna is blond, and Fami has a rockstar do. Loved Miho and is an excellent bassist, but old school. Can't wait for Miyako's new music and what she does with Fami's skills.
I really like that they gave Fami the freedom to be who she is within the band instead of just filling the spot left behind by someone else. She's doing her thing and Lovebites is still Lovebites, maybe even better than ever. You don't have to make an effort to hear the bass in this song, it's just right in your face, and I don't remember many songs like that from the Miho era, to be honest. Can't wait for this album to release!
Finally, a good reaction video I can enjoy as a musician. I am not a huge fan of Fami's style but she fits the band seamlessly. I am always dumbfounded how talented these ladies are. I play right handed acoustic guitar and bass, left handed electric guitar. These women humbled me instantly
Just in time for Christmas, LOVEBITES delivered a gift that keeps on giving. Not only do we have a great new song, but MIDOR gave us tickets to the gun show!
I like this kind of music. It reflects impetuosity. Guitar beads were strung on my emotions so rapidly that I stopped and listened to solo fragments several times. I'm glad that you, Alan, also listened to some fragments. Wonderful reaction!!! Thank you, dear!☺
So glad I was able to stay home today, looks like everyone is reacting to this and being blown away. Fami is very prominent right out of the gate, and blends her very speedy and technical styles of playing with their increasingly progressive attack.. The are all on fire here, special mention to Haruna's very deft cymbal work. It's amazing with this sonic maelstrom that you can hear everything so clearly because there is a lot going on. Special kudos to the FOUR guitar solos! Thanks, Alan, I love seeing everyone freak out over this.
Cant wait to hear the Live version. I, not sure if Miho was just holding back her expression 80% of the time when she isnt head banging, but if I had to nit pick, Fami seems to LOVE jumping and slapping in place while playing and I worry playing in this band wont really give her the oppertunity to express that side of her. Then again this is a MV and not live so I guess time will tell.
This was a little while ago, but Midori said she was 90 lb. and 14% body fat (and she's 4' 11"). I hope she doesn't go much lower than that since a low body fat percentage can be dangerous. Anyway, the song is fantastic. I didn't notice the first time or two that Miyako in a dress and Miyako in a cloak are playing two different guitars. I'm going to have to watch a few more times and see if Fami and Midori switch, though if Midori switches from the reindeer blue Horizon to the black Horizon, that may be hard to spot.
I never had doubt Fami, not even once in her whole career when she was still studying and making a lot of bass covers. I really like the mixing here, I can hear her bass clearly. This song kinda reminds me of Galneryus - The Followers a little bit though. And yeah they upgraded musically and technically, just like Band-Maid. Damn these girls in Japan never stops outdoing each other and their capabilities. I'm so happy with them 💪🎸🎌❤️
Great review, better than Gaijin Guys show. I thought Fami would stay in the orthodox bass style for a while before let her go in her style, but they let her go instantly and slapping fits perfectly. She goes so wild free behind guitar solos, she was doing the third solo behind the guitars but still perfect job as the rhythm section with Haruna. Oh, Haruna's drum fill....amazing piece.
@@dicodec It's not your problem. Since I'm not a native English speaker, one and half our talk in English is a kind of exhausting to follow.....well sometimes talk itself is a kind of....
Exactly my take, Alan! Well worth the wait. This is what the wolfback has been craving. A spectacular comeback if there ever was. Thank you, thank you, thank you!, Lovebites! So damn GOOD!
We can hear the bass better than in Miho's days, which suits me just fine. I love hearing bass in those songs, and the lack of it was my only complaint with their songs before this. I hope they keep it up.
The bass is definitely more powerful in this song - I'm sure this was a conscious decision to bring it more to the fore for their first release with Fami and may even have been the reason this song was the first release from the album . She has a great style and it will be interesting to hear the rest of the album and see her perform live !
Hi Alan! Judgment Day is addictive. I'm getting the Fumi effect. Haruna's fast drums, irregular time signature, Midori and Miyako are too good. And Asami's bass range is great, and she is very stable up to the high notes. Too much awesomeness, I'm confused! Dicodec's reactions and covers, I always enjoy them. Thanks (Arigatou) From Japan
i was kinda thinking what u were saying man, i honestly dont know if fami's style would fit power metal, for now, i think i need to hear more. the song is really good though, very nice arrangement of sequence. the wolves are back.
They finally came back and did great, Fantastic Fami, Miyako and Midori Perfect as always, Asami Incredible and Haruna perpetual motion unstoppable, I Love This Band, I love Love Lovebites. Thank you for this reaction!🤘🏼🎸🥁🎤🐺❤️🔥🇯🇵🇮🇹🎄
I watched it for the first time this morning and I was in awe! It's like they never went away and I agree, Fami is a perfect fit! I have friends that tell me that I only like this band (and the other all female Japanese bands) because they're hot. No. Not all hot women are this fucking talented.
This is amazing. Miho will always be missed but I love the more technical bass in this one. It gives us even more details to listen to and makes the music last that much longer. Is it the mix or does her bass have more punch to it too? On another note, imagine Asami 5-6 years ago barely knew what metal was and now she writes music like this? There seems to be no limits to their skills and abilities...
I think Fami will have her own solo in this album or in live performance, thats what i thought since she joins the band, we all seen her playing bass before right?
IMO, Fami is just like playing a solo all the time, so she mightn't need some solo parts. For the same reason, Harina doesn't do solos unless it's necessary for the structure of the song.
I totally agree with that. She is playing the third solo behind the twin guitar solos but amazingly still doing perfect job as the rhythm section with Haruna. She didn't go like a stupid bass wants to be a part of guitar section leaving the drummer.
Like in classic prog rock, the bass is a melody and solo instrument. To sustain also the hardest and wildest stomp and groove, needs huge expertise. *stunned*
She fits perfectly, and I never had any doubt that whoever they chose would fit perfectly. I don't buy into that "better fit" crap, Miho's a metalhead who plays deep rumbling low end Maiden style bass, while Fami's a highly technical musician whose primary focus is on, well... technique. In other words, they are COMPLETELY different styles, and that's OK. Initially, I might have been (actually, I was) a bit worried that hiring a technical player like Fami might be overkill, you know like how all those 70s prog rock bands were great musicians but couldn't come up with a decent hook to save their lives because they were too busy being in awe of themselves and endlessly wanking, but clearly Lovebites know what they're doing, and the new song's great, and Fami fits like a glove. I'm also aware of the fact that they all read this stuff and follow what's said on social media, so putting one person down while praising another just bugs me in principle.
Man they came back swinging! I'm in agreement, I think this is my new favorite Lovebites song already. Hell probably my new favorite power metal song in a long while!
The goddesses are back!!!An amazing composition!!!Fami very organically fit into the team. And my beloved Haruna is now a blonde!!!I'm happy!!!Wolfpack Russia😁🤘🐺🤘
Fami and Miho are totally different. You normally did not hear Miho. She was so locked in with Haruna. But when you heard her it was a deep warm tone. Very tasty. Fami has a more gritty tone with lots of overtones. And she plays faster and more technical.
It's a killer song, and the reaction is great, too. One slight regret is the prominence of the backing track of staccato strings. It's an effective, key motif that adds much to the song's intensity, but the music depends on it so much, which means when they perform the song live it will have to be incorporated into their performance without it actually being played. I feel ambivalent about the use of pre-recorded tracks in live renderings. I realize it sometimes can't be helped, and Lovebites (and many other bands) utilize them liberally, so I suppose there's nothing for it. Heck, I think "Awaken" is only done as a pre-recorded entry music. And there's phantom piano in Swan Song, which would lose so much without combining it with the twin guitars. But, still. . . What do others think about this? Invite Mao to tour with them?
i don't have a problem with the backing, but i would like to see them tour with a keyboard, but with logistics and money, for LB, that is very difficult for them, if you listen to Iron Madian live, they have the backing tracks, and they have the money..
TBH I have noticed this on all their studio albums. Which is why I actually tend to prefer their live performances because the backing stuff ends up more in the background, like IMO, it should be. I did notice the body of the song felt more compressed and muddy though than their previous LPs despite having the same wizards mixing it. I'll have to listen to a non youtube version with headphones to be sure (though even compared to their other youtube studio stuff the mix felt muffled IMO).
TOTALLY KICK ASS! the look on all of them and FAMI showing a serious darkside look lol...But the sub chorus I guess its called reminded me so much of RAINBOW/GATES OF BABYLON...🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
More than a hint of Malmsteen about this song. Love it. There is even a little Malmsteen run in there :) The bass is extremely busy but unobtrusive, Misa-style in that sense. Great fit, great song, looking forward to the album.
no slaps there... she uses thumb for something like the alternative to guitar pick. Therefore she can play better the melody with the guitars. Bass is very clear here like on Iron Maiden record.
it's not slapping really, in this song, she's more strumming, using her thumb like a pick, than traditional slap, like Misa employs (or Fami does in a lot of her covers).
Fami Fami Fami! everybody should know how much I love Miho but she was the first to admit She is Just a ROCK SOLID Bassist so Fami bringing the shred is no detriment to Miho just a different style but like You say Fami FITS.
This is thee best intro party of any artist. but the BASS? HOLY MOTHER OF PICKLES .. ASAMI believed so much in her.. She threw her in LOVEBITES .1st vid back.; FAST... BLOOD COM'n OUT YOUR EARS.. HARD.. ANO N O ROOM FOR ERROR.. thanks Bra MUCH LOVE FROM 🐺WOLFPACK🐺 POLAND
Judgment Day today. Fami 'Can I play bass on metal songs? Do I deserve to be in LOVEBITES?' LOVEBITES 'We're back as promised! ' 'We swear on this sword that we will be fully restored.' Come on, judge us! World 'Too spectacular to be expected, LOVEBITES have made a legendary and complete comeback. It's the anniversary of the complete revival!
The girls came out of their unexpected rest (black cape long cloak coat) and ( We take off our black cape long cloak coat.) I felt that it was their oath with their swords that they would 'never rest again (we will wear white)'.

My spine is crooked and my neck is bent. Warning! This song will do severe headbanging attacks.

I like this kind of music. It reflects impetuosity. Guitar beads were strung on my emotions so rapidly that I stopped and listened to solo fragments several times. I'm glad that you, Alan, also listened to some fragments. Wonderful reaction!!! Thank you, dear!☺
🙏❤
that slo- mo closing hammer note shot of the ladies is gobsmackingly iconic.
Please support them to buy CD and DVD.
Definitely!
Awesome reaction Alan, song is badass.
Thank you 😊 GG show hasn’t talked about it yet
@@dicodec It's not your problem. Since I'm not a native English speaker, one and half our talk in English is a kind of exhausting to follow.....well sometimes talk itself is a kind of....
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
A wonderful christmas song -
Diana Ankudinova & Brandon Stone (piano) - What a Wonderful World
OHHH WE will check that out on Christmas! we are streaming that day!
Exactly my take, Alan! Well worth the wait. This is what the wolfback has been craving. A spectacular comeback if there ever was. Thank you, thank you, thank you!, Lovebites! So damn GOOD!
❤️🤘
ITS FUCKING EPIC ALREADY!!!
Right!

We can hear the bass better than in Miho's days, which suits me just fine. I love hearing bass in those songs, and the lack of it was my only complaint with their songs before this. I hope they keep it up.
Everything about this is epic and astounding. Phenomenal. Fami is a perfect fit
The bass is definitely more powerful in this song - I'm sure this was a conscious decision to bring it more to the fore for their first release with Fami and may even have been the reason this song was the first release from the album . She has a great style and it will be interesting to hear the rest of the album and see her perform live !
When I watched this earlier during it's premier showing, those solos had me going 'What!? There's more!!' 😆🤟🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Lovebites very own Painkiller moment. Now go and listen to “Gates of Babylon” by Rainbow. My Asami, or Mao, must be a secret Rainbow fan!
This is their painkiller moment!! Good call
Haruna is bad ass here! Like the other... Oh my, they are taking it up a couple of notches...
Fami is definitely a good fit. More abilities and more technical
Miho is a great bass player and all, but I think this one fits into their skill level alot more
Hi Alan! Judgment Day is addictive.
I'm getting the Fumi effect. Haruna's fast drums, irregular time signature,
Midori and Miyako are too good.
And Asami's bass range is great, and she is very stable up to the high notes.
Too much awesomeness, I'm confused!
Dicodec's reactions and covers, I always enjoy them.
Thanks (Arigatou)
From Japan
Well ... Thats a BANGER! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘❤😆
Have you seen Midori's guns these days? She's been doing a lot of bodybuilding during their "off-season" 🙂
Haruna and Fami fit and work together like a hand and a glove
I couldn't agree more!
Oh, yes. They are perfect fits. Lovebites wasn't resting this half of the year.
@@gatograto I kept saying Lovebites hasn't peaked yet. This is proof!
@@TheCyberMantis Oh, yes it is!!!
i was kinda thinking what u were saying man, i honestly dont know if fami's style would fit power metal, for now, i think i need to hear more. the song is really good though, very nice arrangement of sequence. the wolves are back.
❤
They finally came back and did great, Fantastic Fami, Miyako and Midori Perfect as always, Asami Incredible and Haruna perpetual motion unstoppable, I Love This Band, I love Love Lovebites. Thank you for this reaction!🤘🏼🎸🥁🎤🐺❤️🔥🇯🇵🇮🇹🎄
Yeah i can hear the Bass sounds more dominant rather the guitar.
They're always amazing.
Great reaction! Please everybody watch the original music video too!!! :)
I watched it for the first time this morning and I was in awe! It's like they never went away and I agree, Fami is a perfect fit! I have friends that tell me that I only like this band (and the other all female Japanese bands) because they're hot. No. Not all hot women are this fucking talented.
Very true
This is amazing. Miho will always be missed but I love the more technical bass in this one. It gives us even more details to listen to and makes the music last that much longer. Is it the mix or does her bass have more punch to it too?
On another note, imagine Asami 5-6 years ago barely knew what metal was and now she writes music like this? There seems to be no limits to their skills and abilities...
So Fast and so Good 😁 FAMI KAWAIDESU
I think Fami will have her own solo in this album or in live performance, thats what i thought since she joins the band, we all seen her playing bass before right?
IMO, Fami is just like playing a solo all the time, so she mightn't need some solo parts. For the same reason, Harina doesn't do solos unless it's necessary for the structure of the song.
Fami's bass is somewhat doubling up as a rhythm guitar in this format.. that's a very potent thing to have in the Lovebites spectrum.
right!
My exact, almost identical reaction to this song. No lie!
Man they came back swinging! I'm in agreement, I think this is my new favorite Lovebites song already. Hell probably my new favorite power metal song in a long while!
swinging and slapping their way to the top
The intro with the Bass has an OverKill vibe.
The goddesses are back!!!An amazing composition!!!Fami very organically fit into the team. And my beloved Haruna is now a blonde!!!I'm happy!!!Wolfpack Russia😁🤘🐺🤘
I love this Lovebites 2.0, fenomenal!!!
Glad to see someone else as excited as me during this song.
Great reaction
Thank you man! I do a lot of mixing on the side!
What a cool way to introduce FAMI! I love MIHO (former bassist), but FAMI has added new adrenaline to the LOVEBITES band!
This is Lovebite's best song hands down. Each member leveled up big time...
Great song and Fami is perfect for Lovebites. And Midori, her bodybuilding has certainly paid off.
This is second best to having Steve Digiorgio playing in Lovebites! Fami FTW!🤘🤩🤘
On the live version I hope they tune a tittle up the volume of Fami, those slaps looks sick!
no slaps there... she uses thumb for something like the alternative to guitar pick. Therefore she can play better the melody with the guitars. Bass is very clear here like on Iron Maiden record.
just a tad though cause it is pretty close
it's not slapping really, in this song, she's more strumming, using her thumb like a pick, than traditional slap, like Misa employs (or Fami does in a lot of her covers).
@@bishopsteiner7134 I understand, I just didint know how to name this tecnic.
Fami Fami Fami! everybody should know how much I love Miho but she was the first to admit She is Just a ROCK SOLID Bassist so Fami bringing the shred is no detriment to Miho just a different style but like You say Fami FITS.
Just thought of this, What is Fami going to do when playing "Holy War" with Milo's famed bass tapping?
You really need to check our Stand and Deliver
Damn Midori got some muscle hand
This is thee best intro party of any artist. but the BASS? HOLY MOTHER OF PICKLES .. ASAMI believed so much in her.. She threw her in LOVEBITES .1st vid back.; FAST... BLOOD COM'n OUT YOUR EARS.. HARD.. ANO N O ROOM FOR ERROR.. thanks Bra MUCH LOVE FROM 🐺WOLFPACK🐺 POLAND
