    Advice for the installation of the film screen protector: i always find that taking a hair dryer and applying medium to high heat the the curved edge part of the screen protector for about 30 seconds to a minute each side helps the film to mould to the curved edge much better than without heat.

    Ive used the whitestone dome glass and the cheaper alternatives. No specific brands, they all use the same liquid glue. The whitestone dome glass glue is the one that sticks well but a little harder to peel off.
    As for the fingerprint scanner, the glue between the screen and the tempered glass has to be super thin, so i put some kind of metal weight, (a 10 roll of pennies will work) on top of the area where the fp scanner is and cure the glue with uv light, only removing it to cure the fp area last. My fp works 95% of the time.

    The Ultimate Shield looks very similar to the amfilm (tempered glass) that I bought for my gf's Note 20 Ultra. I would follow their instructions (shows 15s x 3, 30s x 3, and 60s x 3 UV light curing times/methods for example) and it is a bit more thorough also the amfilm version also has a level and a metal weight for the finger print sensor; just seems like the rest is the same with a few more points of consideration added. I paid $40 (ebay) so it is $5 more but it is a 2-pack and this is a $1300+ phone depending if you got the 128 or 512GB version, so I'm good with spending the extra $5 but the Ultimate Shield seems very comparable otherwise. Anyhow, it seems to be working flawlessly so far and fits in my gfs case perfectly. I figured others may benefit from knowing this but great effort to go through so many screen protectors. Thank you!

    I bought a 2 pack of Whitestone dome note 20 ultra from Amazon. Both were cracked on top right. So decided to buy from the official website, arrived week and half later than 2 day delivery..... Wouldn't you know it, both protectors had cracks in the same location. Did a warranty replacement from the website and they charged $15 for 1 replacement protector. Customer service is nonexistent. Crazy to charge people more for items sent broken. Had Whitestone for 4 different phones and never had 1 arrive broken prior and I've purchased maybe 10 kits over past 3 years. Shame, quality control is going down hill

    I thought your information was very good. However, I didnt hear you mention the functionality of the S pen on the protectors. Tempered glass would be the only choice I would think would be compatible with the S pen, ( as the plastic type , like Zagg, were terrible and the pen tip drags on the surface leaving marks, that may or may not dissipate. ) Please consider testing Whitestone vs Amfilm and any other similar Glass types , with the necessary features. Also, the quality of the glass edge ( smooth, tapered, or squared off would be a nice detail for finger contact comfort. )

      I dont usually like glass screen protectors because of the way they adhere like tape and the fingerprint scanner is compromised but whitestone dome glass adheres with liquid and cures with uv light so there's no bubbles at all and no worry about it pealing up after curing it has a tray so its perfect installation also comes with all the bells and whistles for covering the speakers and buttons so no adhesive will seep in i love mine and the uv light that comes with is very nice quality. easy and flawless installation well worth the price and with the note 20 ultra version you get 2 screen protectors and accessories after installation you just have to re do your fingerprint

I waited 2 days and it started working again. The only difference is that fingerprint is a little higher when pressing off the area and it takes a little longer while registering. I registered 4 times all with my thumb with difference angles. I hope this helps others. Just try waiting 1-3 days and see if it registers then. Good luck.

    I'm going for the Ringke Easy Dual Wing. Since didn't show wrinkles, it wont lift up from edges since it gets tucked down under the case. I feel more protection with the glass ones, but they are messy and and start peeling off when you put them in your pocket, cause of the case, using the edge panel, using the swipe gesture navigation bar or even cleaning them and prices are not cheap for something decent, plus is hard to find one that works well with the fingerprints scanner.

    Hi, great video. Because of your video I stayed away from UV types. I installed a hydrogel protector. As soon as the installation is done, I immediately use the Spen. I noticed there are like cross over lapping lines in the screen protector visible only at a certain angle and in reflection of light, you won't see it when looking at the screen normally. My question , did my Spen caused this? Shouldn't I waited for the protector to heal itself over 24 hours before I use the Spen? Thanks. I am amazed by your effort to try all those products to come up with this very comprehensive review.

      Hi. I just got my Note 20 Ultra recently and it has hydrogel protector pre-installed. The thing is it scratches easily for me as I had long nails when I got it, not to mention there were air bubbles that expanded when it got hot. Noticed that it's not sensitive enough for S pen as I had to press harder on the screen and it worries me if I end up breaking the S pen.
      Currently using the UV ones. Is it that bad? I might switch back to hydrogel as the pre-installed were 1 year old.

    Thanks for your patience really great video. Whatever screen protector I get I'll get it through your provided links to help out. And yes, liquid can easily come into the speakers or mics even in the s-pen cavity, if it becomes messy. If it does and you cured it, use a dry soft bridle toothbrush and brush it off and use a vacuum from a distance (do not rub the vacuum tip on the phone to avoid scratches) to pick up the particles from the glue after brushing. If you haven't cured it, damped Qtip with water and rub away with the cavity facing the floor so that gravity works on your favor. Then damped another Qtip with alcohol again and rub away, don't push.

    On the last one, I've done quite a few Whitestone dome screen protectors on my Note 10 plus and Note 20 Ultra. First, I always cured mine 4 or 5 times on top middle and bottom. That glue after 15 seconds will ALWAYS get into your ear piece of the phone. Second, the fingerprint sensor doesn't always work properly. It's really ridiculous that you'd have to go through this kind of pain cause of a fingerprint sensor. Anyways, cool video. Maybe next time use more than 1 case to ensure compatibly. Use 1, 2, and 3 part case per screen protector.

    I NEED to share this. I've had one of these film protectors on my Note 20 Ultra phone since it came out. The protection did great, and did peal up and had to put on a new one, HOWEVER- last week, my corners were pealing up and I took off the protection and began noticing a strange pattern on my phone that looks like a screen burn in. I could not find ANY answers on line until late last night and found MANY people have the EXACT SAME PATTERN and all used the film screen! There is a MAJOR PROBLEM these are causing! I've got to bring my phone in to get it checked out, as the pattern and the way it's impacting my screen is literally making me sick and giving me a headache. I rarely have headaches and looking back, since this began I have have 4 major headaches. Anyway- Please do some looking and find a different protector ad these film ones are BAD for the phone screen. That's the ONLY THING that all those reporting this have in common! If this will allow me to add pics I will!

    Thank you so much for making this video!! I was worried for you when the liquid got in the speaker. Glad everything cleaned out! 👍🏻
    You really helped me understand glass screen protectors with a liquid adhesive:
    ✔ You get what you pay for. Look at what comes in the kit to help the installation be successful. Purchase the product that supports your level of experience
    ✔ Make sure the speakers and microphones are securely covered. Double and tripe check to make sure they are covered. If the sticker used to cover the speaker or microphone looks weak, do not trust it
    ✔ The installation trays seem like complete overkill to the novice like me, but they are required to level the phone and keep the phone level so that the liquid adhesive is evenly dispersed under the glass
    If you don't know what you are doing, get the product that includes the installation tray and adhesive strips
    ✔ If the installation starts to go wrong, stop. There is nothing you can do to recover the installation if the liquid adhesive is out of the tube. Clean up everything and start over because trying to continue may end up costing you more
    ✔ Don't be afraid to bail out. Nothing is fixed until the UV light is used
    I am going to purchase the Whitestone Dome Glass Note 20 Ultra screen protector - a product you said you installed previously. I really thought the installation tray was overkill and a nice convenience tool, but after watching your video, I realize that the installation tray - for me - is critical to complete the installation any of these products successfully. The liquid adhesive is very mobile and travels quickly. You helped me understand why some products are priced as they are. The tools in the package make the difference.
    Thanks, again!!

    • @HighTechCheck
      @HighTechCheck  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They seem to be really clear, if there was any difference between the two I couldn't really tell. The plastic that came on the phone wasn't meant to be kept on as it was really flimsy. They only real difference I could tell was the feel, the film protectors in my video were a little more grippy. That's not necessarily a bad thing especially when your tryi v to use the fingerprint sensor.

  • @drawnhere
    @drawnhere 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    The liquid adhesive protectors seem like the best but they just seem way too involved to install and I don't want to take a chance of spilling liquid into the speaker grill of such an expensive phone. I figured the tempered glass protectors for the Note 20 ultra would be the same as for the Note 10 plus and not have a stupid circle at the bottom middle, so it looks like I'm gonna go with the real basic ones that he showed at the beginning of the video for now. I bought the insurance so if the thing cracks, I can spend the $29 deductible to have the front screen replaced if it breaks.

    It's like the Vitavelaaa one got the factory rejects, they didn't even have the spelling on the sticker right that sealed the "wood" case, but then the one right after that which was the same exact screen protector but different brand did have the spelling right, lol. In regards to the Dome Glass type protector, I tried that one 3 times and it didn't work for me each time. The first time the fingerprint sensor didn't work at all even after reregistering it and turn up touch sensitivity, the second time the glue leaked out of the side all over the side and back of my phone, then the third time my finger only registered maybe 25% of the time. I got so tired of trying to find a screen protector that worked that I just don't use one anymore.
