Hey man. Just wanted you to know I still go back to this vid every so often because it makes me happy. Your enthusiasm playing is just so inspiring. Hope your music dreams are proving you the same happiness.
in many ways i find this as entertaining as the original. Hes a very talented bloke were sure to hear from him again, but higher up the success ladder. Good luck to him.
This is gold. Informative AND fackin' funny! 1:43 L A Z Y B A A A S T A R D S Hahahaha! Very surreal hearing that over a vocoder to the chords of Mr Blue Sky. Awesome!!
ELO Greatest Hits was the first LP I ever bought, back when I was 12... I've loved this song for almost 40 years, and just learned several months ago that Richard Tandy is saying "please turn me over"... I always thought it was "Mister Blue Sky-y"!
Sadly no I didn't play on the original. I was 12 at the time. I did play in ELO tribute band Wishful Thinking for 10 years. I listened to that vocoder part for many hours picking out them notes - it isn't radically different here, very passable, I'm certainly not criticising. I might post a video of how I did it soon. But my capture card is sucking large at the moment.
Doh! watched all the way through and no reprise chords.. (where it changes to Csharp..)!!!!(cant find the sharp sign on this mac keyboard..) (Very good but I already knew all that bit, struggling with the very end)
Can anyone post the actual chords for this? The camera angle makes it hard to see what he’s playing and it’s the only thing I haven’t played on my new vooocoooowderrrr!
LOL - very witty - "you lazy bastards". The 'Please Turn Me Over' sequence however has dropped in key to Eb by the end of the song though. Just a point.

I first saw this video exactly 5 years ago, and it's still one of the most consistently entertaining things in the world to me.
You are right! A comment here just made me laugh - it was my own - from 4 years ago :-)

The vocoder chords were heard in some song in/on some Z100 show.
George Michael loved reverb in the late
80's. ROFL so true!
I read your commebt while the video was playing that exact phrase and it was just magical.
I've wanted to use a vocoder for so long! It's so incredible how the instrument adapts to the chord changes .
Pretty much every second of this video is hilarious
classic humor, i love it, and you're also extremely talented!

Yeah, sounds great. It isn't how I played that part but what you do is very passable and easier for beginners. Sound is spot on.

Dude are you from the midlands? Cus I think I'm hearing the accent. ELO were of course from Birmingham!
Oh Yeah, that cheered me up :D
