I so elated to watch this video and hope educators would be curious enough to watch and gain some new ideas. Children need love, support, guidance from both parents (and other family members), and not only mothers. We Africans tend to focus on threat rather than explanation and guidance. These all need to begin right from birth. Adults tell children to shut when they ask questions- adults don’t realize that children learn from their environment, and people in their lives. Children are humans and not dogs to hit, beat and yell at them. They understand when adults are patient to provide support, explain how the world works. Teachers need to have annual training to learn about current research findings to help them also learn better ways to effectively communicate with children. Thank you for reading my long rant!!

How do you explain children who were brought into this world by "other children"? meaning what if your mother was just a teenager when she became pregnant and she gave the child away to other relatives to raise. NO BONDING at all...the kid grows up with ABSOLUTELY NO EMOTIONS TOWARDS this mother. REMEMBER too that many tribal cultures in Ghana DO NOT VALUE or even taken into account THE IMPORTANCE of EMOTIONS OF CHILDREN!!! You are constantly being told to Keep Quiet or you are branded a "bad girl/boy". Very sad.
