Jesse H I was floored at how great an actor he is when I saw this in the theater. I’d always found him a bit annoying and one dimensional throughout his career. He was beyond brilliant in this film and that Oscar was well deserved.
I personally think Leonardo DiCaprio got robbed for that award in the wolf of wall street. Yes Matthew mccaughenhey did a great job. But Leo did a better one.
At least we can take comfort knowing that Leo eventually did get his Oscar, even if the film he won for wasn’t his best performance (albeit a good one).

This scene made me dizzy and overheated when I watched it in the theatre and made me ask myself "Why did I decide to watch this film?". It's not because it's a bad scene, but because I'm often getting so uncomfortable when watching scenes that are related to hospitals or talk about symptoms to deadly illnesses. On the bright side, it just shows that the actors connect with the audience, so that's good

Most impressive of all is that he gained all the weight in his thighs, which he had to have surgically implanted because squid do not possess thighs. THAT, my friends, is dedication to your craft 💯💯💯
