Firstly, thank you for uploading this Cam. And yes, I got excited too when I thought it might morph with a 3 D Sound spatial ability. I'm really pleased you asked what people would like to see on the channel next because there was something I have wanted to know for a long time, but was waiting for the right time to ask. Let's for example say I have 100 tracks of varying sound quality from the 80's that I wish to mix and blend with some modern drums, yet every time I save the mix, the drums feel like they do not belong. My question then is how to blend them in Bitwig ( I use Ableton but the principle must be the same) so they sound good AFTER the mix is saved. (Whilst playing before exporting, they sound great)
I would love to see a sound design comparison between Lunacy Audio's Cube and Output's Portal and Motion plugins. It would also be amazing to see how they all work together.
Using stock/free/cheap plugins to create playable textural sounds/pads from found sounds and field recordings. Pretty please. (ideally using Live = selfish!)
After this video I went ahead and snagged it for myself, and holy shit I love this thing! Throwing a couple weird textural/Foley samples brings out some incredibly interesting soundscapes. I can't suggest this enough if you love to dive deep into sound design. Thanks for the plug, man!
@@zariisofficial Glad to hear i helped someone! You can load 8 sounds to correspond to each corner of the 3d grid, but crossfade between each of those and get some really awesome sounds. Only limits are those 8 slots and how big your sample collection is. Enjoy!!
I just got Cube today thanks to the Black Friday sale, and I'm finding it to be extremely inspiring. I recorded a few snippets of me singing a few notes, layered them together with a couple of the stock drone samples, and managed to knock out a four minute improvisational ambient track which sounds a great deal more complex than it was to actually play. Money well spent.
CUBE is bizarre, and an incredible plug-in. I'm using it for my lastest project and it is almost meditation like when I finally work out it's parts for my tracks. I think it's a must-have.

Nicely done. I've been aware of Cube for some time; but your video is the first to really give me a sense of how I could incorporate it into my sound design.
I got the cube mini on sale and have used it in a few tracks, part of me wants the full version, but I havn't even heard all the presets or spent many hours tweaking the built in sounds, impressive little plugin for sure.
You sold me. You covered everything I've been wanting to know more about. I've found myself going back to their site over the past few months. Now I know it's worth it just to get the everything bundle.
For the benefit of anyone reading the comments who happens to be a cheapass like me, I just wanted to say this is possible for free in VCV using the Nysthi Vector mixer! Obviously not as slick but you've got unlimited modulation options, and can mix any synth modules you want, plugins (if you have Host module), roll your own FM/AM/sync sounds etc to blend. I might nick this idea for an FX patch too. You're welcome! Also, this channel is great. 👌
My favorite synth guy is finally talking Cube! I took a chance on this when I first saw the trailer for it and I've been enamored with it since. Man, it's fun playing with orbits. Btw, all expansions (and Cube itself) are on sale atm.
A wonderful sonic ideas factory. The morphing concept is not new in itself but here in 3-D it reaches new levels of sound design. And it's sold at a reasonable price, much less than other similar libraries, anyway, and the starting samples are really good.
Was one of those who actually purchased the original Prophet VS (had the rack version, which I controlled with my trusty KX88) iirc, the first patch on power-up was a v-e-r-y cool vocal preset. For sure - the libraries it feature are great, but the real fun is definitely in throwing your own samples through it. I've been using this way too much for trailer sound design lately since it makes drones and weird hits so fast to design.

I tried to recreate the idea using unify by pluginguru. I used eight layers and the build in gurusampler on each layer and the also build in pump house effect to control the volume curves. Its not that intuitive as the cube, but it works and the results are comparable.
Had the Mini version for about a year now and I'm still impressed every time I load it up. Going to finally upgrade this weekend. Hyped to be able to run my own samples through it and get busy with the orbit editor 🔥

Am I incorrect in thinking that a Wave Table synthesizer such as Pigments could do something similar, but limited, to this by tying a macro knob to each of the two available wave table engines (to the Position specifically) and then tying a third macro knob to the output volume of each of the engines?
Definitely! AFAIK pretty much anything can be routed to CC so it's really expressive with the right controller. The creators of Cube even used gesture based MIDI controllers to 'perform' the movement of the orb which is really neat!
@@VenusTheory Thanks a lot, feeling like a stalker because all the interesting software got since last year is basically based on things shown here, and Arturia V Collection, Pigments, EFX Fragments and the Augmented is a very inspiring combination. So seems this one. The weirder the more fun.

Hi Gregory! Good question - CUBE Mini is the bite-sized license for the engine and includes all the basic features with a curated set of sound sources and presets. The full version of CUBE has roughly 4 times as much content with advanced features like customizable orbits, user audio imports, deep modulation, and more. Both CUBE Mini and CUBE can load expansion packs. We also have a comparison chart listed at the bottom of the CUBE page: lunacy.audio/products/cube Hope that helps! 😊
and Bam!! got the Cube Mini. At $35.10 (with the coupon, Thanks Cam and Lunacy) it's a no brainer. Love the diferrenciation between the two versions: Mini for the Makers and Pro for the Tweakers. This was the fastest buy after seeing a YT demo!!! Damn you Cam! 😊😁 Edited: if later you'd like to upgrade to the Pro version then they'll discount you the price you paid for the the Mini!!! and you'll just pay an additional $60 for it. Very cool!! For now, I'm just exploring the presets and they sound fabulous!!
A lot of the stuff he was doing sounds like its straight out of a sci fi flick or some horror flick. I got this mini one for free from Plugin Boutique and Im stunned. Like today its free with a purchase. Hard as crap to install and dont even know if I got te expansion pack included installed.
Hi Mario! That's a great question. Our plugin is optimized in such a way that the graphics have no impact on your CPU because they all run on your GPU via a proprietary OpenGL system. Overall, our users are shocked when they see that CUBE's CPU usage is fairly low relative to most other synths. As for the demo, we can't offer trial versions due to security reasons, but we have a super flexible 14-day return policy. If you don't love it, you can return it for a full refund.
Pardon me if you address this later in the video, but as carefully as I watch the GUI while you're playing these orbits/presets, I can't see how the sounds have any relation to the path or shapes you've created lol

There is an abandoned(?) synth named Cube from Virsyn that had similar abilities.
Am I incorrect in thinking that a Wave Table synthesizer such as Pigments could do something similar, but limited, to this by tying a macro knob to each of the two available wave table engines (to the Position specifically) and then tying a third macro knob to the output volume of each of the engines?
Sounds very interesting, is this easy to control by CC?
Can this, or is there a similar software, that instead of samples, would take inputs from other sound sources ? Like say I have 8 synths playing the same notes, and I can 3Dimensionally pan between them....?
Wicked weeuhd, as they say in Boston. Instant purchase. Currently with 40% discount plus your 10% discount.
But pissah for sure!
Did you do the full version? How is it?
@@BrofUJu Full version, but haven't given it a proper workout yet, as I'm fnishing a song. I'm interested to see how it will work with a bunch of related arpeggio variations at the corners.
Does anyone know if it has master tune? (To tune the whole synth in something different than 440 Hz) thanks in advance
What's the difference between Cube and Cube Mini?
We also have a comparison chart listed at the bottom of the CUBE page: lunacy.audio/products/cube
Hope that helps! 😊
@@lunacyaudio Thanks! it's clear. Is there an upgrade path between the two products, if I start with Cube Mini?
@@epicsynthwave You can click on "upgrade to pro" on the plugin , you can see here : 10:40 :)
@@TheGhostRecordsChannel Yep, I see it. Thanks!
and Bam!! got the Cube Mini.
Edited: if later you'd like to upgrade to the Pro version then they'll discount you the price you paid for the the Mini!!! and you'll just pay an additional $60 for it.
Very cool!! For now, I'm just exploring the presets and they sound fabulous!!
I took a quick look, and then remembered I still have CA Alchemy, yes, it still works; and no I still haven’t gotten over it…😐
I saw some lake trolls last night in my DAW 🧟♀️
Has any body had any joy with iOS Animoog Z and samples .
A lot of the stuff he was doing sounds like its straight out of a sci fi flick or some horror flick. I got this mini one for free from Plugin Boutique and Im stunned. Like today its free with a purchase. Hard as crap to install and dont even know if I got te expansion pack included installed.
I guess those of you blown away by this don’t know about Animoog Z, which does the same thing but with wavetables.
That being said I’ll probably pick this up if it’s 35 dollars. It would be quite fun to do this with samples
Thanks for sharing this 👍
This one wont' work for me (no microtuning) but your video's inspired me to MacGyver up something similar in VCV Rack...
Hi. This might be CPU hungry plugin, isn't it? (especially for Ableton) Considering to buy it, but there is no demo 😞
