Ellora should be in the top 3 UNESCO world heritage sites for the rich insight it provides into 3 ancient practices of Hinduism - Hinduism itself, Buddhism and Jainism.

Not a big deal if dates are incorrect. This is fantastic footage! Most videos on TH-cam don't show the temple interior solely and so clearly, thanks.

It appears that the caves were built after the temple. I assume the temple is much older than they think.

I really really wish I could get in a time machine and visit this place wen it was completed to see how it would have looked. I would be invisible so I dont bother anyone or be seen and I'd record video n take photos. I would love to explore every room and see how the water flowed thru it. It must have looked so so beautiful n amazing. Oh well I can still fantasize

India is a land of wonders, It is 100% true that Indians doesn't explore even one percent of wonders in this country. They find other countries most beautiful

Well it is a shithole country. West is more beautiful in modern times, the deep spirituality and structure of society is nowhere to be seen. It is all ugliness and overpopulation in India. India is not like older times, today it is a poor country.

from UNESCO site: These 34 monasteries and temples, extending over more than 2 km, were dug side by side in the wall of a high basalt cliff, not far from Aurangabad, in Maharashtra. Ellora, with its uninterrupted sequence of monuments dating from A.D. 600 to 1000, brings the civilization of ancient India to life. Not only is the Ellora complex a unique artistic creation and a technological exploit but, with its sanctuaries devoted to Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism, it illustrates the spirit of tolerance that was characteristic of ancient India.

Just carving a square room is incredible, but the details of design and sculptures make this a definite wonder of the world, unbelievable mastery of design.
