Finally got it working. It has to be an instant press and release. If you hold for a second it will go to the power off/reset screen.

To take a screen shot on this phone you can also swipe with the side of you hand starting from left to right of your screen, no button pushing needed

I hate the set up with the buttons. I had a s8+ which was much easier to screenshot. The buttons were on opposite sides of phone so it was like squeezing your phone making it more secure and easier to grip. Now I have to force more the thumb finger on one side and i feel it will slip off my hand . Also, I end up lowering the volume more often than taking a quick screen shot. What was once two fingers and a quick squeeze on both sides of phone now I have to use both my hands. One to press volume and the other to press power button. I hate it. I also hate that the finger scan is in front. I use to jst slide my index finger in the back to open even while walking . Now I can't bc I have to open screen and press in the middle in front and I have to make sure it scans it correctly. In the back it was laying btwn your palm and I could keep moving it around till I got it right . Suppose to be better but I don't think it is so far.
