Don't let this distract you from the the fact that in 1966, Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, Bubba.

I've loved Steve Martin since I was a young kid. Went crazy for his King Tut song when he performed it on Carson. So, my Dad surprised me with the cassette tape of the stand up routine that also contained that song. I listened to that tape so much, almost wore it out. Then, one day, Mom & Dad decided they wanted to hear his routine too. Lol That was the last of my tape (it had some raunchy sexual jokes that freaked them out because I heard them). Nevermind that I had already memorized the whole routine! In my teen years, I bought all his albums.

It’s really something how that is actually an incredibly sweet story, in the clothes of a funny one. Seriously. He did not have to go through all that trouble.
Saw Steve Martin in the Gulf in 1990. He arrived to do a USO thing and he was in our battalion area for some reason, standing with a group of us. He wasn't feeling well from the trip and the heat was beating him down. One of the Marines present said, "Say your a wild and crazy guy!" Steve made a valiant attempt, but the line came out like we caught him in the middle of an all night drunk with almost zero energy. Felt bad for him, but he even made being sick kind of funny.
Oddly enough, when I saw Kevin at a comedy club in Edmonton over ten years ago, I was the last one in line to buy his CD and I mentioned how I really enjoyed his Columbo and how it would have been hilarious if Columbo had investigated O.J. Simpson and right then and there Kevin does his “Oh one more thing sir, you said you didn’t own any Bruno Magli shoes, yet we have this picture that clearly show you’re wearing them. “Could you explain that sir?” A unique mini one man performance by Kevin I’ve been telling all my acquaintances about ever since.

I saw an interview, Ed didn't like the movie. I love it. Not perfect but it has some amazing moments in it. It learned me an early lesson about what it meant being a man.
I used to work at Rockefeller Center in NYC. One day I went out to do some work on one of the setbacks of what used to be called the International Building, on 5th avenue. The setbacks there were popular filming locations, as they were off limits to the public and rather scenic as they are directly across the street from St. Patrick’s cathedral. Lo and behold, there was Steve Martin on the setback apparently scoping it out for a scene in one of his films (I believe it was the movie “All of Me”). Recognizing him I said “good afternoon Mr. Martin, what are you doing up here?” Like Ed’s mother in law, I expected a comedic answer. However, he was very straightforward and businesslike and gave me a quick rundown of what he was doing and looking at and why. He was very polite, but straightforward and serious, far from the “wild and crazy guy” we all had come to know.
People always hear about how celebrities are often unpleasant and rude, but these are the moments we don't hear. Steve Martin is a class act. I understand that Robin Williams was similarly kind to fans and strangers.
Kevin pollak would make a great talk show host. He is one of those people from Old School that know how to let a person talk without interrupting them or trying to steal the show.
I had occasion to be involved with the security when they made the movie Planes, Trains and Automobiles. At one point during the filming of the motel scene they took a break in filming. There were quite a few people gathered to watch. As Steve Martin and John Candy walked to their trailers people approached them for autographs. Martin waved them all off and walked away. John Candy, on the other hand, stopped and signed autographs until movie company people came and dragged him away.
