Fussy Lu assumes an awful lot just because of his arrogance, ego and wealth. He answers her door, walks out and closes it behind him as if he's securing her for himself but he won't talk to her about it, admit his feelings, or stand up to his overbearing and interfering mother and his female personal assistant who has been infatuated with him for years. He's blind to all of that interference in his life and the way they treat Shengnan individually and collectively (he never defends her, protects her, stands up for her or blocks evil aimed at her until long after she's been publicly shamed and humiliated and handled it all herself with grace and dignity - then he finds his spine and steps in - when she no longer needs or wants his lame 'protection'), but he sure doesn't miss a guy making moves on her and then runs his own interference. In a way, his mother taught him well: block all competition and eat them alive, but he's still spineless when it comes to actually telling the woman who has his head spinning with confusion and his heart with feelings he's never had before, of his heart. He'd rather play his mind games, manipulate her and all her long-time true friends regardless of their intentions toward her, and think it isn't all going to backfire on him in some way. He's not used to losing; he's always played the vicious dog-eat-dog corporate/business venture game: he's never played a game where hearts are involved and if he doesn't wake up pretty soon, that young lady that makes him feel so alive, so young, and so carefree is going to fall prey to someone else's attention and caring because that warmth will speak to her much deeper than his cold, superior arrogance. I know they have hilarious interactions, and this whole thing is intended as a slow burn, but I truly despise his character and his assumptions. The moment he stands up to that weasel of a personal assistant trying to get him to marry her, and to his venomous mother, then I might change my mind about him, but Shengnan's childhood friend is sweet, kind, gentle, thoughtful, respectful, understanding, concerned and invested in her, her life, her family, her grandfather, her friends and doesn't treat her as if she's property to be manipulated, ignored, made to come last in some business agenda roster, or neglected. He's never too busy for her, to show up, to answer her calls, to offer all he has to help her out. She's warm, open, inviting and grabs life as it comes at her and Fussy Lu is cold, emotionally vacant, abhorrently egotistical and selfish. Since watching this drama, I cringe when I see a new drama with this actor in it; his character in this left such an impression on me that whenever I see him in another drama, all I hear in my head is "Fussy Lu".
Love is about progression, If everything is perfect from the beginning there's no point of drama. The story is how a cold, stoic and calculative businessman loose his sense and craves for conjugal bliss with a very young girl. The girl is attracted to his silent appreciation of her cooking, his charming calm demeanor perhaps due to his age, social background, she couldn't cherish the adulation and admiration from her childhood senior. Finally will they become one despite his shortcomings of coldness, arrogance. Her guile and gullible trust or will it wither away due to others interference etc. In Asian families gratitude to parents is paramount especially when the mother has done so much for the son being a single parent. The mother isn't rude but she can't blindly accept her son's choice especially when he's swooning over a young girl. The assistant was shown to be chosen and preferred over his fiancée earlier. But that wasn't the case with him this time, so this beautifully contrasts the development of their love story and their affection.

Esto es precisamente lo que me enoja bastante de estas series... ellas no se si son O se hacen mensas?? y luego lloran 30 capítulos están bien 5, se separan 15 aaay no que estrés no por nada hace añooooooos que me canso el cliché deje de verlas por eso mismo...
