    It's tragic that this doesn't have more views, this video is a masterpiece! I especially love seeing love for the Romancing SaGa games, and I discovered the Metal Max series thanks to it as well!

      me too man. and Ys.
      I discovered Ys from watching an old upload of this, 10 years ago!

      @@BlinJe That's funny, my brother and I also discovered the Ys series because of the SNES version of Ys III. He was trying to find a game on the SNES emulator to try out and he thought "Ys" was a weird and interesting name, so he gave it a shot, and then after watching him play it I played it immediately afterwards.
      It's funny since Ys III on SNES is an awful version of the game with the worst hit boxes I've ever seen, but I'm grateful to it for introducing my brother and I to an amazing series!
      You should definitely play the PC Engine CD versions of Ys I - IV sometime if you haven't, they're the best versions of those games!

    • @BlinJe

      @@Jordan3DS Haha sweet man. Yeah I played Ys III SNES aswell. It was still years before I played Oath in Felghana or the original duology.
      Personally I love the steam version of I & II, I think the 'complete' art is gorgeous, the 'chronicles' music is phenomenal. And I can make Adol sprint around at the speed of light.. using an analog stick (I find heavy Dpad use a bit taxing in these games).
      It's somehow both action and chill for me.
      IV I played both SNES and PCE as they're different games.
      You played the later releases? I got a bit stumped by Napishtim, and haven't played anything else since Origin

    • @Jordan3DS
      @Jordan3DS 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BlinJe Same, Oath In Felghana was actually the 2nd to last game I beat. I finally came around and beat it and Memories of Celceta right before Ys IX came out.
      I wasn't too big of a fan of Ys I & II Complete, personally. I didn't play it until a few years after I played the PC Engine versions, but it felt super downgraded with the lack of voice acting or the gorgeous cutscenes of the original, the spritework in the original looked better, and I felt that the musical arrangements were far superior on PC Engine. Plus it's super zoomed in on the Complete versions. I hope they do another remake of those games at some point so we can have a more definitive modern version of I and II. I never minded using the d-pad, but different strokes.
      It's very weird how there's so many versions of Ys IV and they're all completely different from each other. There's the SNES, PC Engine, PS2, and Vita versions, and they're all their own game. I thought the SNES version was okay, but the PC Engine version is my personal favorite Ys game of all time. The spritework, music, and gameplay are all just the perfection of classic Ys.
      Yeah, I've beaten every Ys game. VIII and IX are both amazing, if you're interested in trying them out. I liked Napishtim, it was pretty good. Seven and Memories of Celcelta are pretty forgettable, there's nothing really all that interesting about them. I flat out hate Origin, least favorite Ys game. The character art looks so amateurish, and since I was playing on Hard and there's no invincibility frames when taking damage (or any indication that you're taking damage in general), I would literally go from full HP to dead in a single second because of the nine million enemies that crowd every area and they'd all rush me and instantly destroy my HP. I also really didn't like the bosses, they were super monotonous.
      Ys V is a game that I think gets a bad rap. I feel like classic fans hate it because it doesn't have bump combat, and modern fans hate it because it's "too old", so nobody enjoys it. I found it pretty fun, personally, and it has some good music.
      My brother hates modern Ys, he only likes the classic games. He downright refuses to play Ys VIII and IX because he dislikes the anime style, the party member system, and how the gameplay is.
      What's your favorite Ys game?

    • @BlinJe
      @BlinJe 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Jordan3DS Might be I & II or Origin! hahah.
      we're pretty different it seems!
      Complete is zoomed in? ehh.. really? the weird hodgepodge version they have on steam? doesn't seem zoomed in to me. Oh i played Ys 1 on Master System too.. that was a trip ahah.
      I liked V but I felt like it didn't know what it was.. the easiness of it made it kind of a chore by the end.
      Oath I absolutely love but i've ruined it for myself by beating it on Inferno and trying to do the Boss Rush on Nightmare.. dunno why I put myself in for such torture.
      I liked Origin on Hard very much.. oh man, let me link my terrible origin video to you LOOL.
      Napishtim, someone advised me to start on hard initially.. so i burnt out. I should've trusted my gut and played my first experience on Normal. I'll start again soon I think. It's definitely a series where playing them all seems like a good idea!

      " Hugo Fact is a SIGMA MALE "
      As a mostly ginger bastard i find it refreshing to see a strong redhead male lead character. But Japan does that sometimes, the West doesn't. -_-
