My favourite of 2015
It's been more than eight years... Time really flies. And Julia is one of the greatest singers/songwriters of her generation.
Every song she writes is layered with love like a wedding cake, an ode to bliss and freedom and the miracle of feeling it all.
Julia puts every one of her contemporaries to shame when it comes to baroque and art pop. She is a master of her craft
I adore this song but I can't listen to it often 'cause it just makes me sob uncontrollably. Both the video and song are just too pure.
The strings in this song are so lush and dreamy.

Martin Leitch yeah for me it's up there for sure. pretty much a toss-up - Ecstasy, on the other hand has a super strong first half imo (Marienbad, In the same room or Godess Eyes II are just amazing) and a tad weaker finnish, Loud City Song is just very solid overall, with the biggest production, but maybe also something lacking in comparison with Tradegy. my opinion:)
Karel Zich To be honest, I love them all pretty much equally. I don't think there's a weak song on any of them, and her stuff pre-tragedy is great too. She is one of my favourite artists though, so I'm probably a bit biased.
I love this for a few reasons. Unconventional instrumentation, interesting harmonic rhythm, syncopated lyrical patterns, and such a brilliantly beautiful chorus section

Rarely does an artist reinvent themselves so well. This song is unexpectedly fresh, and it has her magical touch all over it. She took the most natural direction after her last breathtaking album and it sounds amazing. The video is gorgeous in its simplicity too, just her and her dog, you can't not love it, it's so lovable. And God, is she beautiful.
A modern classic of pop music! I always liked the unsettled character and unconventional structure of this song. Always getting a good mood when a radio station decides to play it. :)
this is such a lovely song. I found it because someone I used to be very much in love with liked it. Listening to it made me fall even more for him and it still brings back some nice feelings from that time. I haven’t spoken to him in years, hope he’s doing okay. ❤️

This video is wonderful, just Julia hanging out with her dog. It got me thinking about how special the bond is we have with our pets. And then I started thinking about all the great times I've had with my 15 year old terrier mix, nearing the end of his life. And then I burst into tears - I began the grieving process for my little guy. I don't think that was your intention with this song, but I will forever remember it

This was my favourite album of 2015. The arranged strings on this track in particular are absolutely gorgeous.
She has a voice like an angel. Radiant.
1:07 bridge/hook really reminds me of some Woodstock-era Joni Mitchell or something. Love the cadence and chord choices here.
