The part when V & J talk about how incredibly close they are to the action is totally accurate. About 12 feet above their heads were the greatest seats, in any stadium, anywhere. You literally were on top of home plate. You were so close, that you could…often hear the players/ump/manager talking. You saw each pitch perfectly…
That’s why I click and watch these days, to learn important facts about the sport I love, thanks for sharing wow 😮I had no idea that was the last day World Series game
in the old ball park ,i was all around it.from the box to bleachers, from 1965 to when its torn down,i watched our tigers win 2 world titles.,maybe they won't be the yanks, but in 68,and 84,THEY WERE THE BEST,
I was at this game and sat in the lower left field bleachers where Allan Trammel hit both his home runs. I sat with 10 friends and only me and John Lindley didn't have tickets, so we walked around Tiger stadium 3 times and bought tickets in the bleacher with our friends. I remember walking around the stadium and black limos had every parking spot around the stadium. But saw 1 white limo with a beautiful blond driving it and I said to myself. there is a lot of rich people but only one with "Class".
I see Tony Gwynn chewing on the tabaco in his cheek... .knowing that he died of mouth cancer makes me want to travel back in time and scream STOP....I didn't see the great ones of the 40s but Gwynn was the best pure hitter I ever laid my eyes on ...RIP
Growing up in san diego the local kusi 📺 station many of the games. The padres were so bad till Gwynn became a Padre. The were still bad but got to watch him hit 5 times a game. He always hit the ball hard right at someone. With luck he'd of hit .375 every season. He was the most under rated player and got robbed of being a MVP
I love this specific game, mostly because I'm a Trammell fan... but the post-game interview, with two cats that entered the HOF together... pretty badass.
Not my anthem. The "national anthem" is a luciferian program to united and wage war on Jesus. "OH sa tan our star spangle...." Space isn't real, stars are angels. And you've been mind controlled to worship what you think are gas balls.

The last World Series game to date to be played entirely during daylight hours. MLB should experiment with G4 of the World Series instead of playing it on Saturday night when nobody watches anything. Try a 3:00 or 4:00 ET start time for just that game. Or if it's on the West coast start at 6PM ET for a 3PM local start.
From 1977-84…Games 4 and 5 of the World Series were the day games since they were played on the weekend. Game 4 was generally played around 1:30pm (truly classic WS start time!) Eastern Time and Game 5 was played around 4:30pm ET to accommodate network NFL coverage. Game 5 usually ended under the lights especially if the game was played on the East Coast
Alan Wiggins bunted on the first pitch because he was jonesing for some coke. He needed to get done so he could go into the tunnel and snort a few lines.
They're fantastic. I'm not even a Padres fan. They're unique & they're back. Not your common uniform color like the white & some different shade of blue that most have. The Padres Brown unis stand out. You know it's the Padres w/o knowing it's the Padres on the field.

Me wearing my Tiger jacket waving at 27:10. Really miss that stadium. Loved going to games there! Tickets were $25!
Have you gone to anymore series games after that? I bet the tickets are 8 times the value of your ticket
In the early and mid 90s I would go it was 5 bucks for bleachers in center field

@@armandpiche3614 to bad they didn't win it more. Had a lot heart breakers
$5 bleachers
Morris is a beast…his nickname should have been Warhorse…Warhorse Morris
As good as he was in 1984 he was equally good in 1991 with Minnesota
Ran the Detroit Windsor marathon that day.

You forget how good Trammel and Whitaker really were
No, we haven't. But awesome that you mentioned them! Bless You Boys

Whitaker eventually made the same play that Wiggins was unable to pull off in the first inning.
Tony Gywnn was able to hit .338 for his career something lou whitaker was unable to do in the same mlb. 😁
That’s the most beautiful rendition of Our National Anthem I’ve ever heard.

Looks like Lemon was safe on that steal at third
Two ballparks I wish were still around - Tiger Stadium and Comiskey Park.
I have always enjoyed Vin Scully call of a home run hit by anyone usually on the winning teams
My brother and I where at that game
No one cares

Minor note - game 6 of the 1987 WS in Minneapolis was the last daytime game up to now - but it was hard to tell that inside a dome.
Tram! 😊
Padres bullpen was better than their starters.
Tram showcasing why he was the WS MVP here.
I was at this game.
Another note…seems like back then you didn’t have to pause after being set from the stretch…nowadays that’s a balk
Yep. The discernable stop rule came in about 87
yankee stadium with all improvements will never BEAT TIGER STADIUM. Iknow the yankees, with 26 titles.still i'll live and die with detroit
Afternoon baseball in a World Series?
Games 4 and 5 were always day games back then.
@@andrewwagstaff5535 Well, Game 5 started around 4:45 on the east coast. By the 4th inning they were under the lights.

Racist much?
It wasn't about race it was about drugs.
@@LosAngeles-yz1yn Wiggins died from OD on cocaine. Not racist, but sad fact.
He did not die from a drug overdose, he died of complications due to AIDS.
Much of the country at this time was held hostage by the white stuff...probably sourced from Escobar of Medellin.
