  • Have a rear wheel puncture or damaged tyre on your Pure Air e-scooter? It's a simple and easy fix!
    Find spare tyres and inner tubes here
    www.pureelectric.com/collecti...
    Rather have a professional repair centre do this repair for you? www.pureelectric.com/pages/re...
    This video only applies to our 2nd generation Pure Air e-scooters (Go, Air, Pro, LR)
    Follow our maintenance video on the steps you need to take and mistakes to avoid, when changing the rear wheel inner tube and tyre on a Pure Electric e-scooter - all to get you back riding with confidence.
    What do I need?
    - 8mm Hex Key (Allen Key)
    - Tyre pump
    - 2 x tyre levers (optional but makes it easier!)
    - A spare inner tube or replacement tyre (if needed)
    - Valve extender (optional)
    - The e-scooter (turned off)
    - A safe working environment, that minimises the risk of the scooter moving/toppling
    Don't forget!
    Watch the entire video before you start - this will help you avoid making any mistakes which helps make the repairs easier and quicker for you.
    Need a new inner tube or tyre?
    Find all the parts you need on the Pure Electric website (www.pureelectric.com/collecti...)
    Just to note
    This video has been made as a guide to help you maintain/fix/repair a specific part of a Pure Electric e-Scooter. But as with any repair video, we can't be on hand to make sure all the right steps are taken, with the correct tools and used on the correct parts.
    As such take care when following this guide that you do not take any steps, outside of those highlighted in the video, that void the warranty or damage your e-scooter.
    We also want to highlight that you should take all steps to set up a safe working environment, and should only be comfortable carrying out the steps in the video, if you are sure that the e-scooter is securely positioned and not at any risk of toppling over, potentially hurting you or damaging your e-scooter. If easier, bring someone else along to help you with this task. And as a final note - Take care not to damage any electrical cabling (which is a safety hazard) - we wish all our riders to be safe both during and after any maintenance.
    We want all our riders to feel confident in carrying out their own maintenance, in a safe and controlled way, but as with anything, if you're unsure on any steps, contact our support team via your local Pure Electric website (Pureelectric.com) who will be on hand to help.

    I just did it but this was really complicated to put tire out and in.
    I took care about cable and the tube but I can not be sure this was correct...
    I recommend to force on tyre using the levers, use at least 3 levers.

    To anyone thinking of doing this themselves. This job isn't as easy as it looks in this video. Getting the tyre off and back on again is a struggle. You will likely damage the paint or scratch the scooter if you are not careful. If you do decide to do it yourself, I highly recommend buying a silicone spray to lubricate the tyre and tube, as well as one of those plastic trim remover sets as you will need them as leverage to get the tyre back on and off. To avoid scratching the paint, use a towel or cloth and lay that down on the surface underneath the scooter. I recommend at least 1-2 hours to complete this job. Good luck

    wow, first this is a very good video. Anyone who has changed tubes on bicycle wheels should be able to do this fairly quickly, although due to the small diameter its more challenging to get the thick tire back on. not many videos show rear motor wheel tube replacement. Lucky that this motor cable can be pulled out. You really have to be careful not to destroy the motor cable if you don't disconnect it first and you have very little slack to play with (if so a pain in the ass, requires going into deck and disconnecting motor cables to let cable come through). I have a metal sheath around my cable and not sure it can be pulled out at all. If it cant I will be very pissed.. i`ve only gone 50km had it for 3 weeks.

    • @RidePureElectric
      @RidePureElectric  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi @Soneeeee, thanks for the lovely feedback!
      On the Air2 scooters - we allow for a little bit of slack to be applied to the motor cable but it will still be attached to the scooter while you work on it. Our Air3 scooters have been upgraded to have metal knurled connector which once unscrewed allows you to completely disconnect your rear wheel from the scooter.

    I have the Pure Air Go, so does my friend. My sister has the Pure Air 500w instead. All 3 of them feel practically impossible to remove the rear bolt? What sort of loctite do you use because even after applying a lot of heat it's absolutely ridiculous. I'd also like to add that all 3 scooters had the slime stuff in, and it completely failed on all 3. I measured the piece of glass that popped mine, it was less than 3mm long and still caused a puncture that the slime couldn't handle. Extremely disappointed with Pure scooters so far

    The tyre extraction would be easiest if the open jaws in the "fork" where the axle seats, be in vertical position better than horizontal: that don't affect to wheel axle, but should make easier take it out from its place, and avoid forcing connector cable.

    I've put the new tube on but can't fit the new tyre back on over it, it's as if the tube is too big for the tyre but it's definitely the right one, amd I think I've punctured the tube cos I can hear liquid squirting out of tube into tyre

      @@RandomGamer-ku6ck yeah it's effing annoying isn't it 😩 I managed to fix it. Had to replace the original tube because it was faulty. Tip is to get someone else to help you, one person can hold the wheel in place while the other puts the gold tube through the hole. Good luck 👍

      @RandomGamer-ku6ck ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Anna-yw8yg I can change the tyres myself okay, I just ended up on this video because of the Loctite they've used. My bolts are seized really hard but I've done a few Pure scooters locally without any issues. Mine is still new, same as my friends, so both of them are from factory and haven't been removed before. That's why it's feeling impossible to get through that loctite 😅

      If people are struggling to release the nut, try using a long hex key. The longer it is, the more torque provided. Look at the size of the key used in this video

    Refitted the tube and tyre on the rear. Should the back tyre spin freely? I may have tightened it too much as the rear spins a bit stiffer

    • @RidePureElectric
      @RidePureElectric  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi @a O - you're correct the back wheel should spin freely - just double check the tightness of the bolts - the aim here is to have a significant amount of torque applied to the bolts (to ensure it is secure), but that also allows the wheel to spin freely

    So, everyone that is struggling with the valve stem touching the inside. Deflate your tyre and try to rotate the tyre on the wheel, the stem will tuck in really nicely. Don't overdo it though, or you'll have to remove the tyre again 😅

    Really struggling to undo the nut on the rear wheel. Don't want to ruin the thread. Any advice?

    • @RidePureElectric
      @RidePureElectric  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey @Kaya Lena - Just to ask, double check that you do not need a T30 Torx bit for the rear wheel bolt. If you have one of our original Pure Air (1st Generation) e-scooters, this bolt will be present on the scooter - this video is for our 2nd Generation Pure Air e-Scooter.
      The head of the bolt will look somewhat like a 'star' if it requires a T30 Torx bit (you can buy these tools from most DIY stores).
      If it is a 2nd generation Pure Air e-scooter, then using a ratchet and an allen key bit can help provide the leverage while reducing the risk of damaging the thread.
