Part of me is completely satisfied with the base game as is...however, after watching your video and seeing that you enjoyed playing with the expansion, I may have to give it a whirl in the future. Thanks for the thorough coverage of the Contractors expansion!
I did enjoy the expansion but I will say the base game is so well done it can certainly stand on its own. If you play the base game a lot and are looking for even more game play and variety I think that is where the expansion really shines.
I love Red Cathedral. It’s a big game in a small box for such a reasonable price and this expansion looks much the same. Definite buy for me.

I really enjoy this game and I agree with you when you said that the base game offers a lot without the expansion.
One thing I’m not sure about is how to use the Promo workshop titles. There is 4 and one of them has a Diamond icon which I’m not sure if I should include without the Jewelers guild cards. How about the Multi color dice icon?
Never played red cathedral but this looks neat- I haven’t done rondel games before
Rondel is fun! Kingswood is a light weight option too
