Very well done, very informative. Thank you for taking the time and helping me justify the high cost. Ordering it tomorrow! Looking forward to viewing more of videos in the future.
Glad it was helpful David. Thanks for the comment.
Thanks for sharing. Cant wait to get yoder ys640s with comp cart if you were in the service. Thank you
Amazing walkthroughy!! I'm ready to buy!!!
Hope you enjoy it!
Great review! Thanks for making such a detailed video. That is a SOLID smoker. I got to check one out yesterday at a BBQ sales place in Frisco. I was impressed with how well built these Yoders are.
Glad it was helpful!
Frisco, Texas? What shop?
Just bought mines from Frisco last week!
@@heeroyuy9z what shop in Frisco, Texas?
Great review!🎉 I’m down in New Zealand and they sell them here too. So many features! Thanks for going into so much detail!
Thanks for the info. My 640 is coming on Monday! Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
I'm enjoying your new series! Great smoker! You got ALL the bells and whistles!
About time you joined the Yoder family. Its the best!!!
Will you do a comparison between Yoder and Grilla?
I like the Gorilla Silverbac and the original Grilla smoker design (cone). Would love to hear your comments on the Grilla cone design too.
Ha, No comparison. @@davigf1
Great to have you back on track again !!!❤
Thank you!!
Thank you , Great review I am planning on ordering one soon!
Great video. Was looking at buying the new Traeger XL but you changed my mind. Picking my new Yoder YS 640 up tomorrow. Thank you
That's awesome Doug! I used Traeger's for several years and they served me well, but the Yoder is absolutely on another level. I would appreciate it if you let them know that my video was helpful. Let me know what you think. Cheers my friend!
Doug- how do you like the Yoder?
@@gosman949 loving it. Super happy. Easy to cook on
Great review, thank you. I'd really like to get one but sadly you would need a small mortgage to buy one here in the UK 😢
Great review, Sandy! Yoder makes a hell of a pit!
Sandy that was a good video on the Yoder . I appreciate your reviews & opinion . As long as you keep your honest opinion I will certainly be a fan of your channel . Although you will probably cost me a few thousand dollars when I breakdown & purchase a Yoder also .
Lol …buy once cry once @1squirreldog
You going to do a video on oven? Trying to decide if I want to get one for my YS640S. I've read mixed reviews about the changeout of deflector etc. being a major pain. Looks easy but storage of items would be something to consider/figure out. Maybe comment about that in your video? Thanks again for you videos and insight as well as your service. Dave
You bet!!👍🏻
Ya making me wanna buy a second one, lol, great overview!👍👊🇺🇲
I’m really interested in buying this model my only concern is the height of the grill. It looks to be below your waist in a kitchen or other grills seem to be at waist height. It looks like you have to bend over to do your grilling especially with the front shelf. Could you please give me your thoughts on its bottom shelf height??? Thank you I’m just 6’ I realize I need to reach the back.
i got mine on order i can not wait to go kid rock on my traeger lil texan 15 years of headaches.
I absolutely love ours. We bought ours thru the local Scheels.
Outstanding highly informative video.
Thank you. I’ve been looking at Smokers for about 4 years and currently using Pellet Tubes. I’ve been a big fan of Yoder Smoker for about 2 years and knew that’s the one I wanted.
Is there any concern over the smoke stack NOT having a cover ?
None at all, as a matter of fact, it's one less thing I have to clean.
Top of the line americas finest built pellet grill you can buy ,you can pass that grill on too your children ,enjoy sir 👊🏼👍🇺🇸
Too be quite frank i wish i had that GORGOUS Yoder you own and not my worn out 20 year old traeger .
Sandy: Great review!! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
does the Yoder have a pellet change out chute? also does the bottom most tray slide out or do you lift it out? great video!!!!
Great questions. It doesn't have a pellet chute, but I've never used a pellet chute even with pellet grills that had them. The grill grates are in 4 equal pieces so it's really easy to remove them and clean them. I believe there is a solid grate available as well.
love your video but can you please explain more about the controller
I will try to do a more in depth video of the controller George. Thanks for the comment.
Ummm everything you said was absolutely the truth. There’s nothing skimped for weight and these grills are amazing. Wait until you start getting some cooks in it and the flavor will be like a stick burner. Trust me just trust me.
Hope you're doing well brother!!
I notice there is an insert for the grease bucket to sit in. Does this help with the grease not falling on your concrete? i have a redwood deck and would worry about grease spilling onto the deck.
Great question.....I haven't even thought of that because I haven't had any issues. There are no leaks, but I have dumped the grease can once already, and when I had the can removed a couple drops did come out of the drain. It did not fall on my deck however, because there is a ledge under where the can normally is that caught them. Pretty good design.
There’s only one thing that gives me pause in the Yoder: pellet capacity. I’m coming from a GMG Daniel Boone with an 18# capacity and there have been a few times when I’ve been awakened by a pellet alarm during an overnight cook. It seems like the build of the Yoder would reduce the pellet burn rate, with the possible exception of during the winter when the outside temp would cause the whole unit to be cold as ice. Thoughts?
I don't see that being a problem at all...however I have rarely had that problem with 15+ pellet grills, and when I have, it has been my fault.....pellet grills from 8 lb hoppers to 40 lb hoppers
Great review
Thank you for the review. Did you consider the Lone Star Pellet Grill? I just watched one of your Lone Star Offset vids and wondered why you opted for Yoder over the Lone Star. I have an 8 year old Mak 1 Star General that has been amazing and still going strong, but looking to add another pit. Thanks again.
Gene, I guess he doesn't like Texas pits! haha
Is there a reason for picking the yoder over a lonestargrillz? Nice Demonstration I still really like your Gorilla Silverback videos. Congradulations on the New pit
he is not answering the LS Grillz questions? It is a much better grill.
Someone said you can also use the Yoder as a regular charcoal grill. Is this true?
Great review! I need to spend some $$$$$$$
Great Video!! American made brother!!!
How does this do cooking in the rain?
Looks like a great machine. 🇺🇸
I think so too!
direct flame on the griddle is going to ruin your seasoning…other than that it’s brilliant
Thanks!
Thanks so much! Cheers!
Thorough. Thanks.
I'm undecided between the Yoder 640s and the Camp Chef woodwind pro 36. Considering the cost difference between the 2, can someone tell me why I should get the Yoder?
MADE IN THE USA
Have you not watched this video?!?!
@@thomasdecoster8818 Not the entire video. There is no doubt in my mind that Yoder makes one of if not the best pellet grills. But with my expertise I don't need the best. Just a good one. Not everyone needs the Yoder. Do you understand?!?!?!?!?!?
Appears to me you have your answer. Thanks for the attitude. Bottom line. Todays pellet grilles are all good. Just enjoy it.
@@thomasdecoster8818 Sorry. I've been thin skinned lately. I apologize.
Specs say 335 lbs?
I have no doubt that i could probably stand on the shelf.
It was a good review and helped me make my decision to get the ys480. Thanks
Does it have the ability to do super smoke
It does not have a Traeger controller. Stated in the video, Yoder uses their own algorithms.
@@JusPiddlinBBQ Thanks for responding, let me rephrase. Does it put out a good amount of smoke at lower temps??
@@paulrieger501 I use a smoke tube for added smoke; but I like a lot of smoke flavor.
I think you just sold me a Yoder.
Debating this or a Recteq 1250. Just trying to justify the extra $1100-1400.
I’m in the same predicament
You have a Japanese truck in your driveway
Probably built in the US.
Oh No! You caught me! LOL......I bought it 15 years and 224,000 miles ago, made in San Antonio, TX. I've said over and over that it is impossible to eliminate EVERYTHING china made today, but I'm making an effort. What computer or phone are you typing on? COME ON MAN!
I will honestly admit sir i wanted a Yoder pellet grill over my old American made traeger I bought over 20 years ago And mine still bbq s just fine 🍖 when they still built them in usa 🇺🇸 in Oregon . Im sure you realize sir ,if wasn’t for joe traeger who started and designed the very 1st pellet grill ever ,there would NOT be a yoder pellet grill right now or any of the other brands ,that a fact and you know what i say is true. Yoder grills were originally all stickburner not pellet grills .Everybody copied traeger and just made it much better .
Yes I'm well aware of who made the first pellet grill. Congrats to him.
@@JusPiddlinBBQ im not trying too be dis respectful too your purchase of your Yoder which is by far the best in the market ,im just stating a fact about the history and origin of where pellet grills began and where we are now . If i ruffled your feather im sorry I respect your knowledge of bbq highly and have been watching. Your videos for a long time. Enjoy your Yoder well worth the investment .
@@fracman55 No worries at all @fracman55 ...thanks for being here.

Do he stainless steel shelves come with the 640s competition?
The front and side shelves come standard with the Yoder, but the stainless versions are an accessory.
