- Reverend Thelma Massengill Neal sings "Over There" one more time at the Mississippi Church of God Camp Meeting in 1993. She was an evangelist and pastor with the Church of God (Cleveland, TN) in Mississippi for many years, and she often blessed those attending the state camp meeting by singing, particularly this song.
If the church was still like this we wouldn’t be in the mess we’re in today !
Might have been 23 yrs ago, but the anointing is fresh. Feel the Holy Ghost
God is still the same, not the organization, but GOD still is.
We must seek the face of God, bless His Holy name.
Let us refuse to sit and die with dieing organizations, get out of them.. and serve God to the fullest.

I seen Sister Neal sing this many times at the CofG Mississippi Camp Meeting as a teenager. My Dad would be knocking over metals chairs dancing in the Holy Ghost while the Glory came down on the services. You will NEVER feel the Special Anointing with what is dished out to the congregations with the 'praise and worship' the churches now feed the people with. Such precious memories I have! Thank you for sharing!!!!

Lana Moore you are so right. I grew up playing the guitar in church. This stuff they play and sing now urks me. I can't get into it. Sounds like rap and pop music.

Well this is how I remember the Church of God use to be. But we have let down on God. We need to get back to the old time way. We use to sing and shout. But it isn't like that anymore. We need to pray more. Be blessed.

Seeing the date of that Campmeeting, my parents may have been in attendance. Dad pastored in Mississippi and Louisiana from 1986-1997.

I've watched this video time after time since I found it...............I would LOVE to have been there in that service with this blessed lil saint! I can't help but think to myself............I'd love to see God get ahold of some of these stuffy people, sitting behind this lil sister, and shake them to the very existence of their being and then maybe they wouldn't look so dried up! How could anybody not get excited with the spirit that even I can feel over the computer!

When you think about what Christ said ; the least in the kingdom of heaven was greater than John the Baptist , though from the beginning , none born of a woman was greater than him. As a Baptist, Im sure there are some doctrinal issues that I disagree with this woman over (women pastors not the least of which) but nonetheless, this is a great performance and I can tell she loves the Lord.

You'll only find a few ladies in the Church of God that will still dress in the modest manner.
The reason the Pentecostal church isn't having the same kind of church as it did decades ago is because the congregations aren't living like the elders of yesteryear did. All standards of outward holiness were tossed in the can years ago, and there's nothing on the horizon to lead one to think it's going to change for the better.
I'm not Church of God, either. Never have been. I'm Apostolic.

I wish someone could explain to me why a group of people such as the COG would want to leave this proven, other worldly, style of worship. I hate to be disagreeable but, it's an "oxymoron" to "appreciate" where the COG is "going" and at the same time "claim" to be "thankful" for the COG heritage of Holiness & Pentecost. The COG, in general, has left most of what could be called Pentecostal worship & certainly old-time, "BIBLE" holiness. God bless!!!!!!!!!!. Our forefathers would never approve.

Priscilla was an Apostle; Aquila was her husband. They were an Apostolic team. Women are not to usurp authority over the man. Usurp in the Strong's concordance is translated "act as oneself", hence act as oneself over the man. Junia was also a female apostle. Phillip had four daughters that prophesied. Isaiah, Jeremiah and Ezekiel all prophesied. They are thought of as preachers because they prophesied. Preach means to announce. Sister Neal passed away several years ago. She was a true holy ghost filled warrior. The other lady was her wonderful daughter Pat Finch, married to Pastor Charlie Finch. God bless that family!
