He played this character wonderfully well. He is excellent at playing complex characters. Absolutely fell in love with Sidney, it was tragic what happened to him in the end. Could have been such a wonderful limited series if they had given Season 1 a proper ending.
I will never understand how this character is being rack over the coals on Facebook with fans calling him rude and how he's treats charlotte , but know one calls charlotte out for her mistake in the shows . Mr Darcy and Ross poldark had moments when they're judgement and little rude aswell
Charlotte makes lots of ill-judged mistakes. I sometimes think that, despite what she says, she just wants to marry a wealthy man! She isn't interested in James Stringer. In S2, she lights a candle and, quickly, forgets Sidney and pursues wealthy Colbourne, who she has zero in common with, apart from a dislike of London! From the outset, Sidney fell for Charlotte. She didn't reveal any strong feelings for him, until he told her that he couldn't marry her! After a miserable life, he went on to suffer more - and die!
@@olivinarichmond6969 I agree with you about Charlotte, she’s listening to other people opinions about Sidney, and with season 2 I didn’t like what they did to Charlotte character, she’s was such a feisty and spunk to her. I’m apart of a Facebook group about sanditon and the comments about Sidney is quite mean and they are totally in love with colburne I didn’t really like the character he’s felt to me he’s belong in a Charlotte bronte novel not Jane Austen and they compare Sidney and colburne saying that Alex suits Charlotte more than Sidney and Sidney would be a bad husband .
Sidney's character is so much like Mr. Darcy and the dynamic between Charlotte and Sidney was the same as Mr. Darcy's and Elizabeth's and it really felt like it was Jane Austen's novel and she intended to make Sindey and Charlotte married in the 10 chapters she could write. "The other woman" really did the job well by finishing the story as it should have. The dynamic between these two was so much like Rivals to Lovers and Sindey warming up to Charlotte just like Mr. Darcy did with Elizabeth was just really beautiful to watch. I wish he just came back and made the show last with the same dynamics and vibes it had in Season 1. The actors, Theo and Rose really suited each other on screen with great chemistry too
One of the things I noticed in this period drama are the action scenes particularly with Sidney, Ms Lambe and Charlotte. I like that, that they were added into this series.
Years later and i still cant believe he couldnt come back for season 2. So i re watch season 1 over and over 😂 as they had great chemistry. Its like the highs of them finally getting together and then heartbreak over and over at the end of season 1😢
I love the way how he describes each character and what their different virtues are that he’s ever played and when he was describing it it sounded as if he was describing the character four from divergent who plays very well and some of his character readers relate to that previous character he played
Well, he uses the same facial expressions and mannerisms in every part he plays. It worked perfectly for Sidney Parker! His best role by far. It was ruined by him not taking part beyond S1. It ruined the rest! It got him publicity but lost fans of Sanditon! Sad for those , who petitioned for a Sidlotte HEA and got Charlotte dropping all of her principles and pursuing a wealthy man, while she was supposed to be educating his late wife's daughter and his niece! He wasn't even worth the effort!

Theo James, was fantastic in this role. Think his character should have carried on as he was so well developed and had such presence.
