The point about the quick release (back leg vs front leg shot) isn't just that it doesn't look like a windup or can surprise the goalie, but also that it's physically on the stick blade for less time and it's harder to visually track and anticipate location coming off the stick for the goalie.
The striding snapshot is my favourite, it’s surprisingly difficult for younger players to grasp when they are so used to doing leading foot wrist shots.
It's in the nitty gritty details and the mental make up of the task you're trying to perform. Keep going! No one's stopping you from becoming great except for you. You got this.
Very good information, just got back into hockey after not playing for 12 years I’ve forgotten so much stuff and stuff like this I don’t think I ever did learn or just naturally did but haven’t done in so long I didn’t even think about it. I was just slinging the puck at the net. Having some issues controlling the puck where I want it to go with these new style sticks. Do you have any tips? I grew up with using wrist and arm to send the puck off the stick and where I wanted it to go, loading up the stick is awkward to me and I fall over, or the puck has a weird flutter/wobble to it
So when I shoot I shoot with my hands behind the puck bc I put weight on my stick I cant push it back out and shoot without having a bad shot bc I’m pushing down and cant push out especially off of skates
need u as my coach lol, i suck and im 15, trying to get better, I cant keep up with other players, I'm so slow :(, I suck as well, I just have good hockey IQ, my shot isn't bad, but pretty bad XD, I am a playmaker for sure, decent passing, again horrible skating.
not put leg up put hips and thigh into it you can get more power not doing your lil leg up move :P jk but its true its how bret hall and them leaned into things
Dude went bar down 3 straight times and didn’t even stop his sentence 😂😂
Yeah wtf..I was like who is this guy?
@@coryw3339 No idea, but you can tell by how comfortable he is with, well, everything; that he knows what he is doing.
my fav goal i got i hit all 3 barz :P at tryouts
he missed u good buddy
Seriously, my shooting coach would do the lesson left handed when he had a left handed student. Theres levels to this game.
Man, I pick up so many cues from these vids. Awesome.
This video literally helped me so much, I used to just shoot at spots that usually work and now I can pick corners. Thanks

It really jumps off of the blade and surprises the goalie if done right. I think the momentum of the stride gives it extra oomph.
Amazing shots. You're the best
The Sakic release!

Guess I should stop trying to go bar down short side on almost every shot
