Kate Rusby is something else I say & her lovely voice would bring tears from a snowman & them songs she writes are the best & show a very intelligent & caring young Lady. She also keeps her accent from the part of England she is from & as a proudly born Donegal Man who has lived in Wales since 76 & people still can tell my place of birth I sure appreciate Kate's lovely local to her place of birth dialect.
Kate's so down to earth and regular, you can imagine people who knew her being utterly amazed when they heard what she was capable of. When she plays it's like there's nothing else. A moment before you're aware this was a TV show and hearing Andrew Marr talking, but once her music starts it's like that's all erased. This is music far bigger than any TV show, far bigger than any context you could try to put it in
Oh I love Kate Rusby! Natural and super folk voice. What a shame that people still refer to folk as not so popular these days etc... we don't all live on X Factor clones! Keep it live Kate and protect our folk heritage, fueling it forward with your own great songs! Superb!
Let's keep it that way. As long as the unconverted are unaware of the folk scene, it will remain the same as it's always been and not get spoilt! Keep it up Kate x
I'm commenting under my sons name so....disclaimer.... Kate just reaches in and touches my heart. Thank you beautiful Kate. Thank you to your parents who nurtured this gift and your brothers who have the same clear and gentle touch
Very impressed with how the bass jells with this tune and of course the LOVELY way Kate and instruments blend. This is a perfect example how a simple tune can be SO elegant !
Underneath the stars I'll meet you Underneath the stars I'll greet you There beneath the stars I'll leave you Before you go of your own free will Go gently Underneath the stars you met me Underneath the stars you left me I wonder if the stars regret me At least you'll go of your own free will Go gently Here beneath the stars I'm landing And here beneath the stars not ending Why on earth am I pretending? I'm here again, the stars befriending They come and go of their own free will Go gently Go gently Underneath the stars you met me And Underneath the stars you left me I wonder if the stars regret me I'm sure they'd like me if they only met me They come and go of their own free will Go gently Go gently Go gently
@@alhambralions5985 Well, hoping to see her perform the song, as opposed to just hearing it, made me impatient. She is fun to listen to, and a very thoughtful person. But I wanted the song.

The voice of an angel... a very down to earth angel, but an angel none the less :)
The Barnsley nightingale. Luv her to bits!
Sounds as good live as her recordings. Such a wonderful talent.
Wow what a fantastic voice this lass has,, my fave is Wild mountain thyme.

Classic Kate :)
The voice God loves to hear when s/he visits her/his own county.
Underneath the stars I'll meet you
Underneath the stars I'll greet you
There beneath the stars I'll leave you
Before you go of your own free will
Go gently
Underneath the stars you met me
Underneath the stars you left me
I wonder if the stars regret me
At least you'll go of your own free will
Go gently
Here beneath the stars I'm landing
And here beneath the stars not ending
Why on earth am I pretending?
I'm here again, the stars befriending
They come and go of their own free will
Go gently
Go gently
Underneath the stars you met me
And Underneath the stars you left me
I wonder if the stars regret me
I'm sure they'd like me if they only met me
They come and go of their own free will
Go gently
Go gently
Go gently
what a gal

Such a shame she was only allowed two verses - the full version takes you through the whole emotional circle.
Paul Rastrick that’s a good reason for people to buy the album
