Just goes to show the importance of testing, some people would have (correctly) guessed the coil pack but left stumped over the fuse and started looking elsewhere 😅 Always good to find not only the fault but also the underlying cause to ensure a long lasting repair 👌
love the diagnostic diagrams so many people just change componets rather that testing I work in a diesel power generation industry and too many of the Clankys out there just change things no diagnostic skills
Great channel but I've got to say that the video intros are a little long and annoying, otherwise the bite-sized videos are perfect-o-rooney and very watchable. Shortening the intro would just help people get into the action sooner and as a result you may retain more viewers per video. Just some feedback!
Not worth checking the plugs at the same time to see if an increased gap caused the coil pack to work overtime and die? Plugs for this engine are pretty cheap, 4x Bosch FQR8LEU2 are only £13 or so
I got one had four coils fitted few weeks apart, ran and then would cut out until you unplugged coil pack then when reconnected would restart no fault codes at all , had been to 6 different garages, eventually we changed engine loom. Note I’m not critiquing. Hopefully it doesn’t but if it does, won’t start try unplugging coil and reconnect it see if it starts. The a14xer has feedback wire to ecu from coil and somehow there was a short/ break in loom. I fit a genuine coil at first attempt, same fault came back 3 weeks later, spent hours on it but couldn’t charge the time out.
Really enjoy your bite sized repair videos Baz. As a service manager of an independent Audi VW specialist, I look forward to some new VAG content in 2024. You have a nice subscriber sir. Merry Christmas 🎄

100%
You made that look easy
Why did it blow the fuse
Great voltage checking
Because of the coil pack failing

Just curious what wire diagrams do you use
hi what platform are you using for wiring diagrams
Haynes pro
This may come back hope it doesn’t not a nice fix 😢
Why is it not a nice fix? Why would it come back?
Car came in non running, found fault replaced part car starts... Fixed is fixed
@@bazmeredith exactly my thought 👍 pushed it in drove it out
