She is the best. She's sassy but so stinkin sweet and she Definitely knows how to get her way with her brothers, being the only girl. And it's clear that the boys have great parenting, they've been taught to be gentler with her..but that her opinions and feelings are equally as important as everyone else's in the family.
She's sweet, but cunning and knows she will always be protected by her brothers. The older boys don't seem to be as rough and tumble with her as they are with eachother. But, she is still included when she wants to play or do an activity. Great parenting, and a joy to watch.

I feel you bro traditional African parents don’t do anything with their kids because in their mind adults shouldn’t go to kids level. Someone once said “what do African parents think it’s going to happen if they start showing love?” It’s sad really.
I was crying too, because it reminds me how vital and meaningful spending time with my family was, seeing other families' experiences and reading comments here, help me learn other perspectives of what family means.

Can definitely relate on growing up in an African household. Moments of praise over high grades which drove me to always get them but don't recall bonding moments.
My dad would take me my brother and my sisters to the library almost every Sunday, followed by food. We would use our library card to get books and read them together making me really fall in love with reading. To this day I read loads
Oh, we had once a week the bookmobile! Wednesdays were awesome! And my mom always read to me and did word search puzzles with me. I could read before I started school
Same. But it was my mother who took us to the library and dad/paternal grandma always bought us books as gifts.

All children want is your time. My parents used to get us up every Sat morning & Mom would have a picnic made. We'd go for drives & then stop by a lake, have a swim & have a picnic. being in the car was fun too, we all got to say things we liked about the day spent together.
I realized the bit about time with my niece and nephew. They are more like a little brother or little sister to me, as there are fewer years between us than there are between me and my older siblings. And all they ever wanted was to help out around the house with dishes et cetera. Anything to spend time with someone
"All children want is your time" is so true and so few people don't understand this, beating themselves up bc they can't afford to give their kids this or that.
Time with your children is so precious. Don't waste it worrying. You can't get it back. It goes by so, so fast and one day they're grown.

I agree with dad that Uzi needs another year. He needs to be able to rein himself in and listen to and carry out instructions. At the moment his excitement is so great that he wants to just run, kick and scream with delight! 😍 In a year, he'll be able to rein that all in and stand and listen to the coach before doing what he's supposed to.
My dad would have us try all kinds of sports together as a family , volleyball, tennis, basketball, soccer ... we probably didn’t know all the rules but those were some good memories . Loved to see everyone encouraging Uzi boosting his confidence .
Same when all the cousins were young we would go to the park and do tennis or soccer or baseball and just play around even if we ain't know the rules completely lol

This video should be mandatory for black people to understand the importance of black fathers and black families. Pick wisely and procreate with good black men that will love and instruct their children. I had a strong devoted black father that took his role seriously. I was an only black girl with 5 brothers and now I am a black woman married to a black strong educated man who is also a wonderful father and husband. My father married my mother and bought a home before ever having children and my husband and I did the same thing. We raise our children in an upper class black community because we decided to give them the very best life we could in this world and to feel valued and appreciated. Fathers matter. Black communities matter. Black kids learning to love and cooperate with each other is so important.
I love this family because I see elements of my life playing out in front of my eyes. Black families matter!

@@Morenita570 Wow. What an awfully judgmental thing to write. I don’t care where he came from, I care about what he is doing NOW as a husband and father and he is doing a great job. He is working and being there for his children. It is obvious that either people in her family and extended friends really don’t like them, which is hard to understand because they are thriving and happy. Is he perfect? No, but no one else regardless of some piece of paper some are using for validation. A degree has nothing to do with character and integrity.
My grandfather had both his parents murdered when he was 3 years old. He was adopted (by distant family relatives, which was common in the black community in the South) and only completed the 3rd grade. He got his GED in his thirties. My grandfather has worked since he was 8 years old. His first job was selling apples and oranges. He joined the Navy and was a decorated soldier serving during World War II. He then worked at a Steel Mill until he retired at 65 years old and then drove a school bus until he was 75 years old. My grandfather owned and paid off in full two homes. He sent all his children to college including my father, who also served in the military and has a Master’s degree. I also went to college and have a double Masters degree. My grandparents were married for over 62 years. Out of all my grandparents and my maternal grandparents have a similar story, I have always said my paternal grandfather was the wisest and had the most sense of everyone in my family. He wasn’t greedy, didn’t believe in living on credit, he worked, he saved and he lived, but most of all he was a husband and a father till his last breath.
Here’s what we are NOT GOING TO DO is qualify someone’s abilities based on college education and supposed literacy. The job my grandfather did with just military training and a 3rd grade education now requires a Master’s degree and an apprenticeship WITH CERTIFICATION. There are plenty of blue color no college educated men that make more money than those in education. I’m sure there are areas where the father outperforms the wife. He shows up, he takes his fatherhood seriously, not only do they live a good life, but they seem happy. Who are you to determine what marrying “down” actually means?? There are plenty of college educated “good on paper” seems like they make so much money that are drowning in debt that are awful husbands and fathers. Listen, I worked with a woman who married “her fairytale”, a medical doctor who supposedly gave her the dream life. Big house, Big bank account, two beautiful kids until he left her for another woman, drained the bank accounts and left the country and abandoned their children. She had to move her parents and work two jobs. That is the reality of life.
Your response was awful, unnecessary and hateful and proves to me that humanity needs an intervention of kindness and compassion.

And to answer your question - my family and I spent a lot of time camping, road tripping, even just snuggling together eating snacks and watching TV. Those are my favorite memories with my parents.
They are structured, but adventurous and affectionate. There is time taken out for the inevitable mini meltdowns that all kids have, but they're followed with a discussion. They make a point to have inclusive group and team-building activities, but each child is nurtured as an individual and expected to express an understanding of eachother's individuality.
Watching this family's journey, along with honesty of the parents about how they're having to wing it and take it all as it comes, while figuring it out as they go along...is simply, endearing and uplifting. What a fortunate, healthy, happy, thriving, imperfect, loving household.

To many of us can relate to your comment. But God willing, we are on our way back to providing structure, love and guidance within our families.
My sister and I were raised by my grandmother. Every Saturday night we took turns picking out a recipe and we would all go to the store and pick out ingredients and make it together. I will never forget learning with her and how proud she was of us and what we made together. I miss her so much.

I grew up swimming competitively and my parents always came to all of our swim matches. My mom always volunteered during them and my dad would watch. It was nice being the only black kids on the team having both my parents there supporting my brother and I because swim matches are ALL DAY LONG. So exhausting.
He’s Uzing with cuteness 🥰!!! We didn’t do much quality time growing up but I liked when we played games together. As a parent, I want to emphasize family time. and YES 🙌🏾 we go games often. I grew in a single parent home, I’m married and we have 4 children together (post marriage and no children elsewhere). My life is already worlds different from what I grew with. I just want to give my children opportunities I didn’t know existed. 💯 💪🏾 🧠
We had family bible study/devotion every friday night with my dad telling great stories, and us having discussions about life and values with lots of laughter and singing in between.
Im sorry but the DOG had me 🤣🤣... came in like " it wasnt gonna be no soccer game without ME🤣🤣🤣....

My Mom and Dad tried to expose us to all kinds of cultures. My dad was always teaching us about other places in the world and about the contributions of African-American people.
That "trust" jump in to daddy's arms at the end made my heart swell 😍
I have a very large family, and with that came a lot of business and it was hard to find good quality family time. BUT, one thing I will never forget is that each night after dinner my dad would always have us sit down together and do a family devotion or just read some verses from the bible. And while at the time it was a bit boring to me as a kid, I see now how important that time was together as a family learning about God. And now that I'm older, I have come to really enjoy my time with Jesus and I think those short family devos play a big part in that. Anyways, I love your videos a ton!! They always bring a smile to my face and I just think you guys are doing a great job!!
Cooking!! My mother teaching me how to cook and clean up afterwards. She would always have music playing on the background. Whether it was baking cookies or cooking dinner. That was the most memorable quality time.

The things that stuck most with me would be us praying together as a family. Not just saying grace (which we did) but also praying to God for all our needs and thanking Him for all our gifts, making Him the true Father of our family. I'm 74 now and my heavenly Father is always with me.
Every family meal at the table we would all go around and list three things that happened in our day. Now we don’t have hardly any family dinners and it’s hard to keep up or get everyone to open up. I miss hearing my quiet brother tell stories at the table or having such good fun conversation that our butts hurt from sitting on the chairs too long.

We had dinner at the table that my Mom and I would set. We used linen napkins an the "good" silvetware. I just loved that part of preparing for a meal. It felt luxurious and sweet.
A small practice my grandmother had with me was holding hands when she spoke to me. I understand as an adult it was her being full present during our conversations
Something I’m going to do different for my family when I have one someday, is to make sure I tell my children I love them each and every day. Not only with my words, but by showing them love and affection. ♥️
So many things my parents did with my 5 brothers and I...its so funny how my father was the disciplinarian and we feared him greatly but when I look back I see how he tried to make sure we had fun and enjoyed life too. Like teaching us how to play spades, monopoly, buying us toys, watching Sunday night television all together, making sure we hit every hood carnival that came to our city and being the nurse whenever any of us got sick or injured. I'm tearing up like crazy right now because I realize now how much I misunderstood him. He passed away at 44 when I was 24 and I just wish I had the understanding then to tell him how appreciated he was. He had his faults but I am so sorry he didn't live long enough for me to mature and see him as the man that did his best for his family. #myAbu ❤

I was raised by my grandparents. My granddad would take us fishing. Or we would watch Star Trek together. Just give Uzi time. Either he will love it and become better, or move on to something else. Keep encouraging him!!
Quality time in my family was storytime.
My parents would tell us stories of their childhood for hours. Our eyes and hearts travelling with them down memory lane.
Dad would always say at the end of those stories; "May this not be a last story".
I didn't know what it meant when I was younger.
And then, we would always pray afterwards.
We also bonded over preparing large meals and every one had to help.
Thinking about it now brings smiles to my eyes.
I used to bring home Junie B. Jones Books from school and my mom would read them to me and my younger siblings after school. We also used to all gather together(Our parents and the 10 kids) and each say a prayer before bed.❤️ I definitely want to do those things with my children.
My mom was a single mother but we spent a lot of quality time together. Doing my hair, nails, etc was always a good time. We would also spend time baking brownies, cookies, cakes all the sweets.
Expressing board games where we have to interact with each other has to be one of the best memories I had as a kid when it came to quality time with the family. My mom made sure we had a game night at least two to three times a month and I plan to carry it onto my family of my own
This was so fun to watch, what a beautiful sight. In my home, my husband and I make sure most Friday nights is family game night and every Sunday evening is family movie night. It is the two constants that we can bond over and enjoy all together. We did not do things like this when I was growing up and I really enjoy creating these memories with my family and I hope that someday they will continue it or do something similar with their families. This truly warmed my heart! As an only child, I always longed for these type of family moments. They will never forget these memories. It was the forward and reverse run of Uzi for me! The joy is his eyes....priceless! GOAL!
Honestly, I can remember my dad playing with us the same way you’re interacting with your kids. I remember watching my mom cooking a meal and dancing with us. Brought tears to my eyes and I wanted to thank you for bringing that memory back to the surface.
Seeing Uzi practicing football reminded me of the Tobago 🇹🇹 native Dwight Yorke. He did big things in football in the UK. Keep going Uzi, practice leads to progress.

One day if I have a family, I want to make sure I connect with them emotionally before anything else because with this simple action even bad times become less painful. For the good times, I will try my best to listen to their hearts, dreams, desires... I want to be real and give them as much love as I can... I never felt this connection in my family and that would be a dream of mine ;)

Unfortunately, I grew up in a dysfunctional household with an abusive father. So, anytime my mom went somewhere, I'd beg her to take me, just to get away from him. We would just ride around for hours - windows down, music playing and taking in the Cali sights. It was such a safe, joyful feeling!

The quality time I had with my family was family Bible studies, movie nights with Blockbuster videos(telling my age) Sunday morning breakfasts and Saturday night dinners, and attending sport events that we(my siblings and I) were involved in.
I have a fond memory that resembles this one Friday nights at blockbuster n Kroger’s with my momma and my only brother at the time. We loved blockbuster so much we would be in there for hours trying to agree lol .
@@ladiepink Yeah. My siblings and I will be in Blockbuster for a long time (6 of us) trying to decide what movies we want to watch. Usually, my Dad will have the last answer. 👍 times!
I remember Blockbuster Saturdays ❤️ and sometimes we would get cinnamon rolls on Sundays too!

I love this family! He is learning soccer best in the backyard right now. Quality time with me when I was a kid was my father, who was an artist, taking me and my friends to parks to draw and paint or having drawing and paint sessions in the basement. He was such a great artist and artist professor, a perfectionist, but he always encouraged me to draw and paint even when his artistic skills didn't run through my veins. Miss him so much!❤😥
Every Friday night after my dad would finish his night shift he would always come home, shower and sneak into our rooms to wake us up to tell us to put something warm on and meet him in the car. He would buckle us in, drive us to the service station and treat us with a hot chocolate and muffin. Afterwards he'd drive us down the main street of our town (there's always something beautiful about driving through the town at night), and we'd park up at the local Durie Hill Memorial Tower overlooking the Whanganui River and our small city of lights. It was a small treat he'd give us for all of our hard work at school, sports and other recreations we were part of growing up.
Just a small memory with my dad that I hold close to my heart that I'd never forget that I wanted to share.

This video was what I needed today!!! You remind me of my dad. Not too rough, but not too easy on ya either.
Me and my family always walked the university campus my parents went to for 4 years. Just walking, taking, kicking a ball around, playing tennis, playing duck duck goose. Exploring and going places by foot was one of the best quality times I ever had with my parents and sisters.
After those 4 years, I was 9 and we moved to the coast and walking on the beach for miles was another thing we loved. We flew kites, played volleyball, just enjoyed each other’s company.
It might seem simple but it meant the world to me. The countless memories I have of doing both never fail to make me smile.

My father was abusive, as the time went on he got better, one of the things that my dad would ask me is how my day at school went or what’s was the tea between my classmates while we cooked dinner. That was kinda the ritual. He didn’t tell me often that he was proud of me a lot until the night before he passed. he expressed how proud of me he was as far a the person I was becoming. I’ll look forward to offering unconditional love and gratitude to my kiddos.

This was sooooo cute!!!! I love Anaya whispering to Dad the plan and Dad being attentive to what she's saying!!! I love how excited Uzi was, and how all the kids were involved and having fun! A couple things that I do with my son is watch movies with him and have him read to me out loud. It feels great and creates positive self esteem in children when they feel like their opinions matter and they get that one on one attention. God bless you all!!! 😁♥️🙏🏽

One thing that really stands out in my mind when I was young is that my dad would schedule “DADDY DAYS” with each of us. There were three kids in my family and he wouldn’t try to schedule one Saturday morning a month with each of us to do something that interested us. Looking back on that now and knowing how busy my dad was in that season, I realize what a sacrifice of his time that was with us. But those are some of my favorite memories with my dad because I had him all to myself doing something fun. It was such precious time with him.

Bible study/ verse learning was a thing we did growing up together as a family and hands down it made the difference in my life!!

My family had quality time each night at dinner. We didn't answer the home phone line if it rang, and when we eventually had cell phones they were not allowed at the table. No TV, just talking and catching up. I hated it some times when I was rebellious but looking back it is one of the things I am most grateful for
I grew up with 4 brothers and to give my mom a break, my dad would have a " Boys Day" every so often. During those times we learned what it was to be a man and to bond with him. He would use those times to check in with us and answer any question we had. Which looking back, paved the road to our communication now. I can talk with my pops about anything and it all started because of " Boys Day". Keep up the great work Beleaf.

I played volleyball very competitively growing up. I grew up in a house with four kids. I loved tournaments on the weekends with my dad. He was an athletic director/principal and tournaments would take all day. I loved that time with my dad. I’m 22 now and I can really say that athletics shaped my whole life.
I must first commend and say how amazing it was that you called it “futbol”! Also…I heard the “no manos” which made my heart happy! Having 2 parents that were teachers, I will say we spent a lot of time together! Road trips, our sporting events, school concerts, etc. I will say the best lesson and memory I was taught is summed up in one word, Obedience. To God, parents, and myself. This I still carry with me to this day. Your YTshorts peaked my interest but your channel’s content of “realness” and chocolate babies keeps me around!🥰 I work for an early childhood curriculum company and see how crucial parent engagement is!
